Well, I've never skied in the early season and Utah had a below average December 2023 snowfall. We encountered pure rocks and bald spots at Solitude, limited open runs at Brighton, and extra challenging conditions at Snowbird. I totally assumed based on the 2022-2023 record snowfall that it would be fine to book our trip this early. We still made the most out of it and I learned a lot! The highlight was checking into the Cliff Lodge at Snowbird and taking advantage of all the amenities including ski in ski out, our own ski lockers, mountain views from our room, and the Cliff Spa hot tub for after skiing.
