First Time Snowmobiling, Wrecked it… 

As a Canadian whos currently freezing in -40 it's fun to see people who aren't used to the cold play in the snow and see geese 😂

I'm glad you guys are enjoying this winter with us. Tomorrow the low might be -50 with the wind chill here in great falls. Bahahaha, enjoy.

-10f is still pretty warmish for a Northern winter. But you Texans seemed to have taken it well. I grew up on a snowmobile (sled) and the new ones are so powerful the scare me too. Getting stuck is just part of it.

Matt- I’m a skier, but a few years ago I was convinced to go snowmobiling in a blizzard bc it was too windy for chairlifts to spin and I said yes. It was great…very cold and my buddies weren’t prepared. I too struggled as I got the sleds stuck at least 4 times.

Last year we went to Breckenridge for Christmas and snowmobiled on Christmas even in a white out blizzard. One of the craziest experiences of my life. The instructors didn't tell us about the hand warmers on the handles so my glove melted off.

I smiled all the way thru that, looks like one heck of a fun working holiday.

JFYI, cooler bags work to keep stuff on a snowmobile warm too. Just put hot water in 1 bottle and it will keep the rest from freezing

So entertaining that us Canadians head south to escape our winters, and here we have Texans head North for the snow.

Matt, I lived in South Florida in and in 1992 I went to Denver for Christmas, I left Miami at 85 Degrees in T-shirt and Shorts, I arrived in Denver at -34 degrees, I vowed that day I will never want to see weather below 80 degrees again.. and it still stands to this day. I'm freezing my butt off in San Antonio right now as I am caring for my mother, but when God calls her home, I'm heading back south lol

Heated socks, pants, vest, hat and gloves are the best invention for cold winters.

Montana is seriously the most beautiful place in all of the US (imo). Glacier National Park specifically. The views while hiking up the mountains/glaciers is absolutely jaw dropping. Such an epic place to visit. (Hell i could stay there till i die lol). And the added danger from narrow trails, steep cliffs/drop-offs, big cats & bears makes the whole experience that much more surreal. 10/10 would recommend😁🤘

Yall need to go to Dave Sparks' cabin in the snow and mess with a sno cat and other stuff. That would be AWESOME!

-37*C here this morning when I woke up. (-40C is a match to -40F) and that is before the wind chill. Just stinking COLD!

For your next “Winter” trip, best to take the Fam and grab some Sorel Boots and a Snowmobile Jacket, they will keep you toasty outdoors without having to layer up. Different to your Texas winter boots and Jackets.

I am a Montana native. Minus 7 is ho hum. You should try minus 77 on for size. That's without the wind chill factor. You should give Whitefish Mt a try, it's great in both summer and winter. Meredith and the kids would love it. You could even purchase your own island on Flathead lake. Glacier Park is very close also!

Little idea for an abandoned town for you! You could have multiple kitchens/eateries one with a set resident chef and another with a rotating RU-vid chef roster! Pretty dope to try some of these dishes I see being made on RU-vid!

cold weather camera tip use those hand warmer packets to keep your camera warm it helps alot

so in 2014 we won a trip out to the marlboro ranch in bozeman, mt. it was an 18,000 acre ranch, an old western town that the guest stayed at and about 30 different actvities you can choose from all packed in a 3 day trip. all the buildings were recondition buildings from actual abandoned towns. it was an awesome trip, it was an active ranch as well that had a few thousand head of cattle and a couple hundred horses. unfortanetly they sold to a private company in 2021 or this year and im not sure what happend to it since then.

As fun as that is to visit and play around, as someone who lived in the great white North for 30+ years before moving south, just watching this footage brings back PTSD of long cold winters 🤣

Good to see you guys having fun in the snow merry Christmas and the expeditions are fast to they just don’t pick up like the mountain sleds ran expeditions for like 5 or 6 years for work their a really good utility sled or trail sled

So not a surprise you wrecked something. Every vid you wreck, destroy something. Keep it up I’m loving it.

Watch out with those coats with batteries NIMH cells have a tendency to overheat and explode when stored improperly (too cold, too hot, wet or possibility to damage it short-circuit and under winter jacket we can have all of the above) and the battery burns then it is trapped under the coat and all the layers of your clothes, and you have to take everything off while the battery is burning on you with couple thousand degrees I have a fiend who had an accident like that, and he spent 2 moths in hospital, had 3rd degree burns, and it got 2 inches into his muscle.

For gets and shiggles. I went to work in a sweatshirt. -13 this morning. Minnesota grown. Have a solid vacation all.

I have camped in a tent at -30 & -40C. -40F and -40C are the same. People ask me what I do when winter camping. I say, try to keep warm. Also there are no bugs.

You guys need to go to North Pole Alaska and collab with the Somers in Alaska family. Similar age kids, also have a clothing line. Nice people like yourselves. Berty is always wearing a Demolita shirt.

We call them snowmachines here in Alaska. Used for transportation for most in the bush 9 months out of the year and an ATV for the other 3 months. Have a great Christmas.

Fargo North Dakota here. I just walked in miles and half today to get beer. The actual air temperature was -14°F. The windchill was around 36 below zero and it’s gonna get colder and I’m gonna walk in it I do every year usually I ride my bicycle but we got freezing rain and we got 2 feet of snow but yeah you’re a little bit chilly today. Heated gloves was a game changer though this year.

Matt, you should check out Ghost Town In The Sky in Maggie Valley, NC. It sounds right up your ally if you want to buy it. Its permanently closed. So.. its an abandoned, amusement park. and you get all 4 seasons here in the mountains.

Howdy, from McCall Idaho. It's snowin here, got 4 feet on the ground and the pines are all flocked like Christmas trees. We are only getting -5 tomorrow night but that's plenty for me. 6 inches of snow so far tonight. 12/21/2022 midnight.

I started snowmobiling in 1972 on a brand new Sno-jet. What you were riding is light years ahead. Check out one of Ostacruisers snow videos if you get a chance. I love how the kids are involved.
