Yes, definitely keep the cooler inside a hard sided vehicle if you don’t have bear proof containers to hang high in the trees! You don’t want to attract bears that learn to raid sites… those bears get killed which is sad and the humans that probably should instead since they caused the problems by their lack of understanding or caring about the consequences and how it puts people and bears at risk of issues caused
Being alone in wilderness is a spiritual experience, as far as I'm concerned. I've done a lot of solo backpacking and especially in the Siamese Ponds Wilderness Area and most times never see another human for 5+ days. It's saved my sanity once or twice while in the midst of large IT project nightmares. lol.
Enjoyed your video, it is my kind of area. I just spent the last two weeks of September in Tupper Lake. I had hoped to camp (in my minivan) near there but found out I needed to have made advanced reservations, different from the last time I was there. I wanted to check out the area you were in but just didn't get the chance. It looked like a place I would have enjoyed. Have been camping since 1968 but always in state parks or (my favorite ) national forests with a few national parks thrown in. I really enjoyed that whole upstate NY area. Thank you again for your video.
You can never have enough equipment when outdoors, especially when you have access to a vehicle. Better to be prepared. This is a good video as I'm looking to do a solo soon in the Moose Plains. Cheers!
I really enjoyed your video! I just did a solo trip for my first time this year. That's what got me interested in your video at first. I'm a birder too. I'm from New England and I have never gone up into that area. I think there might be a future trip for me. looks like great hiking. Keep Safe, & Thanks!
