I'd recommand the hot pots, the 熱炒, seafoods... and some traditional cuisine restaurants which makes real dishes that you couldn't make at home and could find anywhere else in the world: 山海樓青葉台灣料理富錦樹時時香米香台菜丰禾台式小館

That brown sugar latte reminds me - have you tried brown sugar bubble milk tea? I think most 7-11 in Taiwan also sell that drink. But of course it’s better to order from a tea shop. I must admit, when Shelby couldn’t pronounce dehumidifier immediately, I laughed a bit because that word is always a mouthful to my students. Most of my students struggled with that word. 😅

Those kinds of Coffee places are usually for indoor dining, so it must be expensive. If you want to drink cheap coffee, just go to 7-11.

Two adults flying into Taipei with four large suitcases. Would you recommend making transportation arrangements to a local hotel or are drivers with large enough vehicles readily available?

If you have 2 big luggage’s each that you can’t carry/are a hassle then you may want a transfer or to take a taxi (there’s always vehicles with enough room at the airports) But you will pay a higher price for that if that’s something you are okay with ☺️

Non-Asians wear their shoes in their homes. Asians, such as Chinese, Taiwanese, South Koreans, Japanese, Singaporeans, Malaysians, Vietnamese, Indonesians, etc. always takes off their shoes before entering their homes as well as other people’s homes. FYI…Taiwanese Beef Flavor Instant Noodles actually come with actual Beef. And, Beef is in a vacuum-sealed pouch. Maybe your hotel has them at their Noodle Bar? To eat Xiaolongbao, put some Soy Sauce and Ginger in your spoon first, and place the Xiaolongbao on top. Then you poke a hole or you can take a small nibble of the Xiaolongbao…and then you slurp the soup/juices. After that, you eat the whole dumpling. That's how the Taiwanese eats them.

I was taught to let the Shiaolongbao sit in the sauce a bit to cool down then eat it whole. Never heard of taking a small bite and suck out the soup first method until maybe 10 years ago.

Now you need to go to the night markets. Recommend Raohe St. Night Market, not far from 101. Trust me, I grew up there. Whenever I went back to Taiwan, I want the night markets, not the big famous restaurants. And do NOT go there over the weekends, it's packed! So packed that you will have to waddle with the crowd!

When I travel, the bed is most important because of my back. I can sleep without a pillow but the bed has to be comfortable otherwise I will wake up with back pains. Also I can't sleep without a comfortable bed but I can sleep without a pillow. So I guess, to each is own.

Most famous Xioulongbao Michelin restaurant in the world is Din Tai Fung. Since you are in TW, gotta try at least once, though a bit pricy. Also, gotta try Babi tea from the original or more famous tea chain shop instead of a random one on the streets.

@@ChaseandShelbs Can get babo tea from Chun Shui Tang (春水堂） or Xing Fu Tang(幸福堂)in Ximending, which are a bit more expensive but better or the cheaper but okay one from FiftyLAN （50嵐）.
