Hi I just moved around your neighborhood and have been trying to find a good Filipino restaurant… what restaurant is this from? I usually drive all the way to Bloomfield to a restaurant called Pandan… try their Crispy Pata! 😋
I visited the Philippines for work like 5 years ago. Stayed for a month in St Rosa Lagunas at the Seda hotel. It was a trip literally! Sisig is my favorite! Going to all the different restaurants that are in America that are slightly different menu wise was super interesting. I went to city of dreams casino! The ppl are so nice and welcoming! Bless all of you Philippino and Phillipinas!
Must try: Chicken adobo Pork sinigang Kare-kare Lechon kawali Bicol express Chicken/pork/beef caldareta Leche flan (dessert) Halo-halo (dessert) You're welcome! 😉 You really did enjoy our food I must say! 😅 we filipinos are glad that you genuinely enjoying it. Our food is underrated and seeing foreigns like you appreciating our food?! It means a lot. Thank you for sharing it to the world God bless you❤
Someone get this guy his Filipino card. For Filipinos, Rice goes with everything lol!!! Definitely got to try Kare Kare (kinda like an oxtail eggplant peanut butter stew) and some pork bbq skewers. And don’t forget the rice!
@@hugekokroa6h426 agreed. But the type of grains and the way it's prepared differs for every culture/country. I love Asian food because no matter how simple it is, there's just so many ways to it
When you head back, I'd suggest the classic Chicken Adobo, it's always a staple for home meals. Apritada is great tomato based soup, Menudo being similar but of slightly different taste. Sinigang is another great dish. If you're feeling especially adventurous and they have it, Dinuguan is a yummy dish. Though most people turn away from it because of the ingredients. Must try dessert: Halo-Halo Other mentionable dishes are Tinola, Kare-Kare (A personal favorite of mine), Kaldereta, and Arroz Caldo.
As a man with a filipino wife and huge filipino extended family, the lumpia gets dipped. You must try Menudo, (different than the Mexican version) adobo and bbq on a stick.
Damn you really are one of the most genuine reactors ever for Filipino food. I am so happy watching you eat. You are so honest and so genuinely appreciative of our food and culture. Your first jollibee reaction is one of the best! ❤️❤️❤️ All the love from the Philippines..
My man, seeing you enjoying the food I grew up with in the Philippines brings me so much joy. I look forward to seeing you try more Filipino dishes! Just from the way you genuinely enjoy the food, you definitely deserve the honorary Filipino title! I feel like you'll have a food coma everyday if you ever took a vacation in the Philippines LMAO
as a filipino, seeing you react to our food gives me tears of joy, you're always welcome to come to the philippines and enjoy each and every dish that we have to offer edit: the lime you were talking about in the pancit bihon is actually called "calamansi" :)
I love seeing people enjoy Filipino food. My mom is a great cook and she would love to feed you. She gets so much joy from seeing people enjoy her food
Filipina here! I was hooked from your Jollibee video (clicked subscribed before I was halfway through that video). Your appreciation of Filipino food brings me so much joy. Thank you for sharing it with the rest of the world. I live in NYC, so If you love sisig, Mama Fina’s is a must! If you love fusion, try Flip Sigi, which is one of my my favorites. There are so many Filipino restaurants in NY that you might get sick of it (just kidding, you won’t) My mom always leaves tons of uncooked Lumpia Shanghai (mini egg rolls) and Turon (egg rolls with sweet plaintains and jackfruit) in my freezer, so if you are ever in the city, come by and we’ll fry some up for ya! Keep eating the Filipino food!!! You rock!
I receive second hand joy in the way you enjoy Filipino food 😊 the sweet and sour sauce goes with the lumpia so you did good on that 😊 the one you thought was scallop is called a "squid ball" .. And the other kinda meat is called "kikiam".. These are common additions to pansit.. And these "meats" also commonly fried and sold as street food here in the Philippines 🇵🇭
I love the way you eat and detailed description of what you are experiencing. This is what food blogging should look like. Kudos to you. Keep doing it, we love it❤️
You definitely are a Filipino, we eat everything with rice haha. I hope you'll try Crispy Pata which is a deepfried pork knuckle that was definitely crispy outside but juice on the inside, It also goes with a sauce its either a seasoned vinegar or soy sauce. We also have Caldereta which is a stew type of dish that can be cooked using pork or beef as its meat, added with lots of different ingredients like potato, carrots, green peas tomato sauce and liver spread with peanut butter also for others. Looking forward to your next videos!
I luv Filipino FOOD!!! PANCIT AND CHICKEN ADOBO IS MY FAVORITE!!!😋😋😋 Edit: I used to work with Filipinas on the base here and had real home made stuff it was sooo gud!!!
LOVE YOUR CONTENT!!!! im filipino/mexican....love watching you eat the foods I grew up with!!!! BUT it was the moment when you dipped your chip and got some rice I was lmfao dying because THATS something I would do!!!!!!! so with that you have new subscriber lol keep it coming brotha its great watching you!
Always watch your videos when I get home from work and it makes me so much hungrier lol. Cooking food for myself as we speak but that looks hella good. I have some Filipino friends and their food is ALWAYS amazing. Never ceases to hit. I’m glad you enjoyed it!
yo bro you definitely gotta slide to the next bbq lol you’re officially certified at this point. also the next time you go try filipino food see if you can get the pork bbq, shit is life changing i promise you. i’d also recommend halo-halo (it means “mix-mix” in english), prolly the most popular filipino dessert. it has crushed ice, ice cream, flan, and a bunch of other stuff like jellies and beans. W video as always.
You literally read my mind when you said you were gonna fry an egg and save that garlic rice for breakfast 🤣 you must have 💯 been filipino in your past life! 🤣 We have a whole range of breakfast dishes called “silog”… basically garlic rice + fried egg + meat or fish. Highly recommend you trying “Longsilog” the version with filipino longganisa sausage (garlicky, peppery, sweet and vinegary) ❤️
Excited to see you try Filipino food. I’m sure someone may have suggest this by now, but please try Sinigang. It’s a tamarind based soup that has vegetables and some kind of protein (pork, shrimp, etc). It tastes kinda sour but you’ll get used to it. You also eat it with steamed rice. You tried Lumpiang Shanghai. Those are the little ones usually made of ground pork. The bigger ones you’re thinking of are indeed called lumpia. Those are usually either with veggies only or ground beef. The sweet and sour sauce is for the shanghai. I like to dip them in spiced vinegar.
Lumpiang Shanghai same size, pero ang Lumpia ay Gulay ang filling and also there's also Vegetables Lumpia or Sagiwa means (Fresh). Lumpiang Shanghai is more on Ground Pork and Lumpia is more on Vegetables. Between the differences, a lot of recipes uses ground pork nor beef sa Lumpia nila with Vegetables on it, are not called Lumpia it's still Lumpiang Shanghai.
We been binge watching your mukbangs we also do mukbangs in jersey. You are definitely giving us some bomb places to try out so thank you. You always make the food look so good . We are actually going to try Jollibee we hope to enjoy it as much as you do 💪🏼💪🏼 Keep grinding man your growing like crazy
Man.. all of this looked amazing! I’ve tried lumpia before (was absolutely amazing) but I’ve never tried any of the other dishes. I’m going to be keeping my eyes out for this near me! Hope you have a great week brother.
Love seeing you appreciate Filipino foods. When you visit there again, ask if they have Beef Kaldereta (i like it saucy, cheesy with a lot of tomatoes and a little bit spicy kind), then Beef Bulalo that definitely hits the spot especially when it is winter or for hangovers, Chicken Adobo, Kare Lare with lots of vegetables (peanut sauce), Lechon Kawali and Bicol Express! God, I'm hungry!🤤
I just became a subscriber recently because of your jollibee and loco moco video. I have to admit, I'm loving all your reactions while eating filipino dishes. Hope to see you eat more of our traditional dishes! Much love from the Philippines!
What's the spot tho? Should try mama fina's. I know you just did sisig, but theirs might be my favorite. Pork or tuna. Then maybe the kare-kare oxtail, crispy Pata (fried pork knuckle), sinigang (staple tamarind soup. It's interesting because it's sour), and either halo-halo or the mais con hielo.
As a Filipino i am definitely proud you taste in our exotic food that you normally don't eat in the states, thank yoy so much for appreciating our food because it's our culture.
btw as a filipino u gotta try lechon kawali it is personally one of my favorite dishes my parents make. oh and dont forget to get the sauce with it too
As a Filipino this brings me so much joy 😌🇵🇭 that sweet & sour sauce is mainly used for egg rolls, but that’s okay 😅 for pancit, you gotta squeeze lemon or calamansi it adds so much flavor ! 😋 The next time you get Filipino food again, I’d suggest getting halo-halo, chicken adobo, bulalo, pork barbecue, sinigang, bistek, dinuguan, chicken inasal, arroz caldo, munggo, bangus sisig, crispy pata, kare-kare, puto(Filipino dessert), & lechon w the green sauce 😮💨😮💨
Man how you eat Filipino food is so mouthwatering. The white one in pansit that you thought potato is squid balls. That is one of filipino street food 😊😊 You should also try chicken and pork adobo, kare kare and kaldereta. New viewers here from Philippines 🇵🇭
Yes I'm part Filipino and rarely have flip food this made crave some great video!! I been subscribed since the beginning nice to see yo channel grow!👍👍
You got the idea about the garlic rice & the egg bro, but FYI, Filipinos use garlic rice, egg ( sunny side up usually ) and any type of protein for Breakfast! It is called SILOG ( prononced See-Log ) If you do order a SILOG dish, your choices will be as follows: Longanisa ( Filipino sweet pork sausage ) called LongSilog , next is the Tapa ( Cured Beef Marinated ) called TapSilog, next is the Bangus ( fried milkmish ) called BangSilog, next is the Corn Beef ( sauted corned beef with onions ) called CornSilog. For other filipino cuisine, you should try the KALDERETA ( options of beef, or pork, or chicken Filipino Stew ) it is savory, and has to be eaten with Rice. ) next is ABOBO ( options of pork, or chicken, or squid ) marinated in vinegar, soy sauce, minced garlic, bay leaves, peppercorn, then sauted in a pan. Savory and eaten with rice. ( You are not filipino if you dont eat this dish. ) next is SINIGANG ( pronounced See-knee-gang ) its a Sour Tamarind based Soup ( options of pork. seafood accompanied by okra, spinach, other veggies. Served Hot, and slurped, and the broth can be transfered to the rice for a satisfying spoonful of umami into your mouth. There will be tons of requests like mine, but thse dishes are a MUST EAT to start your journey in Filipino Cusine. Oh get used to using a spoon & fork as you utensils. KAIN NA TAYO! ( pronounced Ka-In Na Tah-Yoh ) it means Let's Eat!
I love the way he eats with such enthusiasm and gusto. All mukbangers eventually get “full” and the joy and twinkle leaves their eyes when they eat. They just get sick of it, but not you.
You, eating everything with rice 👍- now you understand why we Filipinos eat rice in every meal! That goes to show how much flavor we have in our food. Thank you for all the good comments. PLEASE TRY THE PORK ADOBO - with tomatoes + bagoong AND rice combo. YOU WILL DEFINITELY LOVE IT BROTHER!
Glad to see you try these I’m actually eating Filipino Spaghetti, rice & spicy peppery pork chicken type of Adobo with no sugar coke & Pandesal. Dang my Guy got the Sisig!! Yuuuum enjoy it’s good Hot in a skillet(cast iron pan) with egg mixed in & mayo. I’ve had the traditional pork head Sisig & honestly prefer it to the pork belly one!! I’m glad you like it!! Gotta be honest I haven’t tried it with mango & tomato yet. Yet or sweet n sour sauce with Sisig is new lol but I bet it’s good Filipino Mangoes are sweet & are delicious in Mango Smooth!! Lumpia & Sweet Chilli Sauce are good. I can’t wait to tuck into some Ginataang Kalabasa(Whole Crab cooked in Coconut Cream & Pumpkin) Next Level!!
😋 Another awesome episode! I'm surprised they didn't give you a lemon (or lime) wedge when you asked for it. Lemon or calamansi is traditional with pancit. What you were eating in the pancit was probably a fish cake or chopped fish ball. Glad you liked it. Looking forward to your next Filipino food episode! 🇵🇭
Im a filipino, seeing you react to our food gives me so much joy, you're always welcome to come to the philippines and enjoy each and every dish that we have to offer, big thumps up sir and also done subscribe.
You're right, the Philippines takes a lot of influence from its trade partners and, let's be honest with the words here, colonizers, and it's very evident in the language and the food especially. Heavy influence from Spaniards (language, religion, some food), Asian countries like China and India (rice, garlic, curries/stews, fish sauce, vinegar, soy sauce), and even the US (English as the official 2nd language, "ketchup" made from bananas rather than tomatoes due to wartime shortages, spam) and there's many more. I think the main reason it hasn't taken off in the West is because the dishes can be VERY different in the different regions/provinces of the Philippines. As an archipelago, much of the native culture would actually be much different from island to island or even just province to province, especially due to the colonization and trade, to the point where even the spoken language can sound MUCH different. When the Philippines declared its independence, the US made sure to train the Philippine military and maintain bases there. Since then, the Philippines has started to modernize, and so by comparison to other countries, it's actually fairly new and the exposure hasn't reached the levels of Chinese, Japanese, Thai, or Vietnamese food yet. Dishes like adobo, lumpia, sisig, and the BBQ have started to become much more popular though. If the Filipino restaurant has kare-kare, I HIGHLY recommend, it's one of my favorites since childhood. Be sure to eat it with the bagoong, which is fermented shrimp paste. The shrimp paste might be off-putting at first due to its very strong smell and taste, but it's absolutely necessary to give this dish the extra umami and saltiness it needs to complete the flavor profile.
Hey man I'm a Filipino, Thank you for appreciating our food. Here are the list you should try next Pork sinigang Chicken or pork adobo Beef caldereta Lechon Crispy Pata Beef Bulalo Lechon Kawali Blue marlin (kilawin) Chopsuey Dinuguan (best with puto/ like, rice cake) And you can also try dessert Buko salad Fruit salad Halo-halo Leche plan Ube (purple yam) Kutchinta Pitchi pitchi
You hit it on the dot with saving the garlic rice for breakfast! You HAVE to try Filipino Breakfast aka Silogs. Basically garlic rice, egg, and your choice of Filipino breakfast meat: Longanisa (sausage), tocino (sweet bbq pork), tapa (salty beef) and the list goes on. Love to see you embracing other peoples cultures and this one makes me extra happy since I’m Filipino. Lol made me crave the food so bad too. 🔥
For about 25mins… it’s just a food 🍱 video…definitely powerful… so smart and genius… getting us hooked oh my,, well-skilled with that speech power is required…but also plus factor the delicious 😋 Filipino food,,,, thankz a lot..
Oh yes!!!! Thank you, a lot of Filipino; and honestly Asian food as a whole hasn’t had a lot of presence in a lot of western countries. Although I’d definitely say Chinese food has made a significant one, and others haven’t; so thank you for giving even more exposure.
You are definitely filipino by heart! I enjoy watching you eat those super delicious filipino dishes. Maybe you can try crispy pata and lechon kawali next time. I am sure you'll love them too. More power to you!
That seafoody food you ate in the pancit is called fishball. It's a REALLY popular budget street food here. Anyways I enjoyed your reaction so much like damn I'm feeling hungry now 🤤
Watching you trying yummy Filipino foods for the first time makes me feel happy and excited, I personally love the Sisig rice , lumpia and pancit noodles....I'm hoping you could share the leftovers to your family too . wish you could try other delicious Filipino buffet like the Crispy pata, Pork lechon, Grilled Seafood and desserts....see you !😍😉👏🔥🙋🍲🍛🍧
Thoroughly enjoyed this video! Just an FYI, Filipinos are one of those types of people that will always feed you and continue to tell you to get more even when you're full!
Yoh Bro, im a Filipino Fan, and thank you for liking the Traditional Filipino Food. I would like to see you eat more Traditional Filipino Food specially the "Bicol Express" (spicy pork cook in coconut milk)" and "Pork Sinigang" (sour and spicy pork soup with a lot of healthy vegetables)" . You will love those bro. I swear. You will love those.
Came here right after the Jollibee video LOL I love this dude, man Also! My fave dishes are Longsilog (pork longanisa, rice, and egg), Tocilong (pork tocino, rice, and egg), Kare-Kare (oxtail peanut stew), Chicken Adobo, Arroz Caldo, Pork BBQ sticks, Halo-Halo, and Mais Con Yelo
Any day that starts with garlic fried rice for breakfast is going to be a good day for me. The best mangos in the world come from the Philippines. The best mangos in the Philippines come from the island of Luzon. The best mangos in Luzon come from the Zambales province. The best mangos in Zambales come from San Narciso. The best mangos in San Narciso come from my wife's back yard.
Sisig is freakin good as hell and that one you have looked soooo yummy 😋 and hell yes to the garlic fried rice. The way you mixed them together is exactly how a lot of Filipinos eat it lol We Filipinos love strong flavors and salt, not the healthiest per say but delicious nonetheless lol
