First time trying out Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon 2 

Happy 40th birthday to James Rolfe. We're sadly not getting any younger. But the Castlevania franchise is still around, and we can play it as much as possible, and it'll hopefully be inspired for generations, just like AVGN will no doubt do the same.

I love the Bloodstained series so far. I would like 2 see a 16bit style one too. Combine Rondo of Blood, Super Castlevania 4, and Bloodlines, into a 16bit style Bloodstained

I'm disappointed he didn't bother to read the sign after getting Dom to learn how to bounce. ALWAYS read the signs for new characters to learn more about them.

Inti Creates deserves a shout out for how well designed this game is. That "veteran" difficulty simply adds knock back and the level design makes it that much more difficult while still being challenging on normal. And when you think about it they packed a total of 7 characters into the game all unique enough to make it worth playing with each. My only very small gripe is the ugly single color the main characters have. I get it it's a call back to the NES era but then you look at all the other colorful enemy sprites and orange Zangetsu just looks out of place. Like the mona lisa with googly eyes.

Orange lanterns: MP, items for "points" or 1UPs (rare) Purple lanterns: (fixed) sub-weapon for the character with which you broke it (always 3 MP for Hachi) Pink lanterns: HP (small or large) Yellow lanterns: special badass ressurection spell for Dominique (disappears after use)

Try reading, and not passing all the text by so fast, and you just MIGHT "know what's going on!?" ;) 21:20

Beautiful game! Looks like a lot of care went into making this.

I wish he & Erin would do a co-op video of this. CotM2's harder to figure out than the 1rst, but the replayability & co-op's genius!

This game has reaaaally punishing checkpoint placement. Even Dracula's Curse was more forgiving.

This game is a lot like Castlevania but Zangetsu's sword and jumping mechanics and the lanterns is more like Ninja Gaiden amirite

This looks like a lot of fun. I never really got into the Castlevania games as a kid I'm not entirely sure why, but way later in life I ended up trying out Bloodstained Rituals of the Night and I totally loved it. One of the first games I played when I started playing games again after like a ten year break, and I 100%'ed that shit. It was awesome. I skipped the 8 bit Bloodstained but I might give this a go when it's officially released.

I love COTM, amazing games! Just bought this yesterday....finished the first "loop" ! I did have the same problems and got stuck on stage 6 at first, just as you did, but givin up is not an option! haha =) When is "part 2" comin´ btw? Great Play through like always, only one thing. it pained me that Mike didn't experiment with the characters OR their sub-weapons. let alone ALL their normal attacks, especially Dominique's Lance hop.

Hey Mike "10 Inch" Matei! Nice playthrough. I picked this game up after watching this. Im a big fan of Robert myself, he's got great range and his big gun special is devastating; I just wish it didn't have the recoil; on ice, its a death hazard. This game's littered with neat lil tricks and gimmicks, and I like the branching paths - if there's ever one with pots that lead to door, chances are, its worth taking. I was surprised to see the return of a boss we've bested twice throughout the series so far, and impressed they kept final moves for the bosses aka desperation attacks, during the latter half of the game. The ONE thing Ill critique the game on is that that went waaaaay the fvck overboard with the endboss, its bad enough you have to kill a boss before it every single time, and even with the hidden "trick" before the last stairs, its still absolute bullshit, lol, if someone give this game a 0/10 for the endboss alone, I wouldnt blame them! *Sigh* Other than that, its pretty decent...

Mike, going up and down stairs in old school Castlevania is easy-even if the stairs go downward and are at the end of a platform. It’s simple...get near the staircase and simply push down-don’t move forward while pushing down. Same goes for going up. There’s no need to continue moving forward. I used to die like that all the time and then just pushed down once and it was a slap-my-forehead moment. Hope this helps.

I'm kinda confused....so they have Bloodstained: Ritual Of The Night first and then I guess shortly after...Bloodstained:Curse Of The Moon was released and shortly after that came out Bloodstained:Curse Of The Moon 2? If so damnn they put these games out fast as hell!! And i need to get my ass any of the newer consoles....it's 2020 and I've still yet to even get to play The Legend Of Zelda:Breath Of The Wild, or my all time favorite Zelda game but the new remake of it Links Awakening Remake, and there's sooo many more games I've wanted to play for years so I mainly wanna get either a Nintendo Switch or a PS4 and it's seriously unbelievable how many awesome indie games that are released on the Switch but Alot I think were on Steam but the type of games sorta like a MetroidVania style of games but like this game, it has them throwback retro style of graphics some with pixel art graphics but it sucks the damn PS4 and Switch have hardly went down on the price since it's been released....I would of thought since it's been Soo long now since the last generation of consoles were released and hell Ps5 is about to be released soon but the PS4 still costs like 350$ when I'm broke as a joke and when you see game stores hardly selling PS3 games anymore I would of thought they would of dropped the price to like 200$ or a lil more by now

After watching this (and all of Curse of the Moon 1 videos) I wish you would read the tutorials and try out new and different subweapons especially in the beginning but also later. You are so much better than me, especially on the bosses, it's really hard to watch you struggle with the actual easy parts of the game. And with hard I mean not yell at the screen ;-) Like don't always stick to Robert's spears, you only need one character to hit upwards at the same time, so if Zangetsu has the whip or Dominique the lightning/wind already then take the bomb ball or bullet when the game gives them to you. 80% of the time the game just gives you the weapon you need for the current enemies. Like those ninjas are instant dead with the huge bullet, the bomb is usefull for enemies below you. And if you need the spears again, the game will give them to you Top Spikes are easily destroyed with Dominique's lightning and Hachi can walk on/destroy bottom spikes. Zangetsu's aura doubles his attack power in addition to the wheel in the air. And Dominique's "music" subweapon is a one time use to heal/revive all party members. And don't forget that Dominique can pogo jump on lanterns.
