man i really just adore how stylized your videos are. the camera movement is dynamic, the music is fun, the title cards are detailed, they're always bangers
Even though I had faith that things would get sorted, I genuinely didn't think having a channel deleted would have made my heart sink the way it did. But I also didn't anticipate the immense need to rejoice once we could revisit your creations again. Welcome back, hoping you're here to stay a little longer 💝
seeing people be excited about creating stuff and trying out new things always makes me inspired!! everything turned out very cute even with the small mishaps
Long time viewer here! I own The Painting Pottery Cafe in Brighton - we do wheel taster sessions if you wanted to pick up a couple more tips! And evening classes too ☕️
I’ve been doing pottery for 15 years and the speckles in the glaze (I call those kinds jungle gems) are little pieces of glass that melt in the kiln to create those dots! It’s really cool.
These are great PJ! Some tips for the future: throw faster and keep your arms braced against your body; it also helps to trim pieces thrown on the wheel to take some clay away from the bottom and sides so everything isn’t so heavy (do be light handed; I gouged holes in many creations at this stage); and please, for the sake of my sanity, get the kiln in a more fire proof space😰
everything looks so good! scratch some hatch marks with a needle then use some wet clay to glue pieces together. the hatch marks help it grip on to each other! I miss doing pottery, used to be my after school activity. can’t wait to see more!
Ahhh I was anticipating this one! Pottery is sooooo interesting, I started a few months ago (not on the wheel!) and omg it's like a creative therapy session that leaves you with a beautiful creation ❤
Sand down that yellow glaze on that chonky bowl and wipe with damp sponge. Add a tinsy-wincy bit of barium carbonate (I've got shed-loads and I'd send you some if it wasn't frowned upon to send white powders in the post) to the glaze mix, and re-apply, re-fire. Don't forget the cones, cones, cones! Next up: slip casting??
love your slice of life videos. since starting college I’ve lost a lot of my creative spark and your life is so full of fulfilling little adventures that I love to watch now more than ever. you correr of the internet has been a cozy escape place for years ♥️ keep it up
Hi PJ, new fan here like recently lmao! Just wanted to say I really admire and respect your creativity and content and enjoy watching your videos thanks for being awesome
So happy you tried this out!! I fell in love with pottery, specifically wheel throwing, 6 years ago. Since then I've been always making, learning and being inspired by others. I hope you DO try this again! There's a vast variety of how to make things with clay. Never know what you might gravitate towards.
PJ have you been watching The Great Pottery Throw-down on channel 4?? If not you’d love it!!!!! (Also the worm is adorable! Would love them to sit on my desk and judge my procrastination) 💜
So happy to see you again PJ!!!!!!! I'm so glad that your videos were recovered, I hope you didn't have too bad a time with being hacked! We missed you, even though . . thankfully it wasn't that long. XD
I love ceramics , so jealous you can have your own wheel, kiln and glazes. (I know how much these things cost :') .. ) can't wait to see what you make !
Here from your twitch vod! - Loved seeing what you and Sophie created! Pottery is so therapeutic and fun, even though it can take a little while to master. So glad you enjoyed it!!
This has cheered me up immensely, thank you for making my day! This is something I've always wanted to try, I hope one day I will. Your creations give me such joy :)
coming back to this after the big wreck to restate my love for this video and how inspiring it is, keen to get to some pottery soon. scratch that, here to restate my love for this whole channel and how inspiring you have been to me for years! welcome back
Aaaah the way PJ edits is so lovely ... and the speckled bowl and Sophie's pieces are so pretty !!!! 😭 this video reminded me of sculpture classes in high school and sixth form and how much i miss working with clay, it's so satisfying ; v ;
this reminded me of the massive art video, the claw machine video and those videos where PJ would just try random stuff. to me, they feel like those long lost days when you would just do paint a wall, or bake a cake or make pillow forts around the house or just do anything and everything with your cousins (or friends) because the days were long and you could fill them with whatever you like, because responsibilities just didn't exist as a kid during summer break a feeling of comfort washed over me just as the first few seconds were playing i really missed the feeling. thank you so much PJ, for still uploading.
I have been doing wheel throwing and pottery for about 4 years now and honestly for a first go at it this is very impressive! It takes a long time and a lot of trial and error to get this stuff right but honestly it will only get easier and its super cool to see someone else get into the art form since a lot of people quit after they make their first pot, good on ya!! (Also those glazes are sick!!!!!)
Peejj! so good to see you working with clay but plsplspls never sand greenware (or bisqueware) without a respirator even outside. silicosis is real real and i want you to live a long, happy, healthy life! I teach ceramics courses so I know what Im talkin bout capish?
Yay! We gain another potter :,) I personally prefer hand building creatures but throwing can be so rewarding once you get the hang of it. I keep my elbows braced within my thighs to hold it steady, but that's just me! Also, chipping glaze is usually one of two things, so you're not wrong! clay body, or improperly reconstituted glaze!
slap? slop? slip? yes you got there eventually peej👍🏼pottery takes a ton of practice. i've been throwing for two years now and i still feel like a very clumsy caveman playing in the mud but dang it it's so fun edit: just finished the video and pj lemme tell you after quarantine all of my creative juices had been completely sucked outta me and when i started pottery i felt like an imposter surrounded by peers i viewed as much more creative than myself, but i enjoyed potting so much that i pushed myself everyday to do something i was proud of. now my dream is to have my own studio and be able to play in da clay all the time. pottery truly helped me find joy in my art again and i'm so thankful for it. i can’t wait to see what future creations you make!
