@@JonFox1945 I moved to a very conservative city in Colorado, Wyoming and Idaho are both sparsely populated but a lot of Californians are moving to Idaho.
@@Mine-Finder I always wanted to move to Colorado but I hear a lot of Californians have already raised the living cost and votes liberal on everything. Any specific places you recommend as someone who wants to avoid high crime liberal places
@@JonFox1945 Colorado is not cheap, but way cheaper than California. The cost of living in Idaho has gone way up too, One advantage of Colorado is that the property taxes are extremely low. Colorado Springs is the second biggest city and very conservative. In Idaho, Meridian, near Boise and Coeur d'alene up north are both nice cities. Wyoming is a beautiful state but you'll be living is a very small and isolated town unless you move to Cheyenne
thanks for including the road clips! we are planning trip there & will be towing a small trailer, we are always curious about that whenever we will be climbing in elevation! nice video
You get your permit for Devil's Slide Trail at the Ranger Station on Upper Pine Crest. Also try the Nature Trail at the Nature Center. It goes from the Nature Center to the County Park. If you like Mexican food I recommend La Casitas on North Circle. And the Higher Grounds coffee shop has awesome hot cocoa. Also if you like camping by yourself outside a campground, you can get an adventure pass and go to some beautiful yellow post sites on Black Mountain and many other beautiful spots marked with a yellow post...they have maps available at the Ranger Station with all the yellow post sites on the mountain. Have fun.
"3 different agencies" That's California in a nutshell! Thanks for the video. The mountain communities are the ONLY thing I miss from California. AZ is such a better life. All the best to ya!
I left cloudy Malibu for sun in Palm Springs today. I ended up going through Idyllwild on the way back. It was 50 degrees and rainy but it was beautiful! I searched for a RU-vid and this came up. Your camera shots were amazing. I plan on going back in a few weeks to see more. Thanks for posting. You dog is very cute by the way.
Be ready for the daytrippers trying to see how fast they can make it up the mountain. They’ll either tailgate you or pass you no matter how fast you’re going. Just pull over and let ‘em pass. There’s a ceremonial cacao place up there I just discovered . 💪
If you ever go again you have to check out the Chocolatier. Best homemade chocolates and shakes ever. Thanks for the video! Heading up to see a friend for the holidays.
Three seperate agencies all sharing the same jurisdiction is a Riverside County thing. Animal Control is the same way, it confuses residents. Theirs two entities that provide animal servies and registration and the jurisdiction gets tricky to sort out. Beautiful video! Very informative!
Higher grounds coffee changed fo pure bean coffee and no longer that good anymore. Alpaca coffee has been the winner in coffee shops (mama’s egg house does win) alpaca has quality coffee and black mountain coffee roasters. Next time whenever you come back up! (I live in idyllwild lol)
I was on that same trail (Ernie Maxwell). Then I had to walk it all they way back to get the car and pick up wife and daughter that waited at the bottom of the trail...
They are all pretty much free, or very low cost. The permit is for your safety in case you go missing. Last weekend I was hiking Deer Springs Trail up there and we got an alert that a wildfire was quickly approaching us. The Rangers knew where would be and had our phone number and called us to let us know to head back.
I'm looking for somewhere in California where I can take my girl my baby and my dog and just sit around a campfire and smoke a fine cigar with a little bit of rum without having to pay for what God already gave us humans for free...fuck...is there such a place or is everything state owned??
LOL 😂. I've been debating about what to write to you but I'll just leave it at this - we switch off, but she generally takes him when I'm filming something. Crazy concept right?!
Their mayor is a dog... not sure where you are buying into the political affiliation game but... given the LGBTQ flags up in town and the few people I know who live there, that does not seem to be the case. Enjoy
