When you are mindless titan you don't age. Ymir turned into human because reiner's friend is titan so you gotta eat a titan shifter to turn back into human.
Frankly it seems kind of disrespectful, what if there's someone in real life with the name Brickbowl and they see us misspelling their name for laughs?
Here's an interesting fact; Eren was so confused when Ymir mentioned a monkey because he genuinely doesn't know what a monkey is. This is just further confirmation that Ymir, Bobby and Reiner didn't grow up inside the walls
Ymir waking up from being a Titan for 60 years paired with the stunning animation and one of the tracks in AoT, Call of Silence, is one of the most beautiful moments in the anime.Ymir finding herself free and deciding to try to finally live for herself instead of for other people and sticking to a set path, it's all so amazing. Her encouraging Sasha to be who she is, distracting Connie from thinking about his family, saving Daz, saving everyone in the tower, she always helps other people and puts them before herself. And that's honestly so beautiful. She is one of my favourite characters in AoT
Probably my favorite small detail in the entire series - Reiner and Benny know what the "monkey titan" ymir refers to is, meanwhile eren has no idea what the hell a monkey even is. The world outside the walls is so foreign to eren that even the word/concept of monkey is completely new to him
40:16 "We haven't had much of Levi..." Levi was injured in the fight against Annie in the forest. He's still injured. In elapsed time, it's only been a day or day and half since the end of s1. Yes, the entire s2 covers about 36 hours.
It's been even less than that because the first part of s2 is kind of a flashback to the end of s1: when we see Reiner & co chilling before the Titans seeing, it says "12 hours ago". So the entirety of what happen before Utwald Castle (Mike's death, Connie's and Sasha's adventures in their respective villages) happen at the same time as Eren arriving in Stohess then fighting Annie.
My favorite detail abt that is, he can still fight, im sure the soldiers have such injuries all the time. He's not a part of this mission cuz he's so valuable as a soldier th3y can't risk losing him over a negative variable like that even tho they might loose eren forever.
@@trequor it's not broken tho...it was a sprain, from what they showed the ankle didn't bend too much so prolly a small one, smaller ones heal in abt a day you can still work normal even if slight pain persists
Just a reminder, Reiner and Berthold have no idea what happened to Annie. They were kept isolated the whole time Annie was fighting in the inner walls and nobody told them anything, because they were considered under suspicion.
Also it's easy to forget that the fight between Annie and the Scouts happened just the day before! The first part of season 2 (before Utwald Castle) happened at the same time as Eren & co arriving at Stohess, the Annie reveal and the big fight.
I find Eren gnoshing frantically on his arm stump funny (in a dark way). And his flailing legs in the background of Berthold and Ymir's conversation, too.
My favorite moment of this episode was definitely when Ymir woke up as human again. Everything from the animation to the music to Ymir's expression of utter joy and awe at her second chance was just so beautifully done. Girl was literally "reborn that night"! Her backstory as a whole was fantastic and helped add a layer of depth and complexity to her character. Again, it makes sense now why she was so harsh on people like Sasha and Historia when it came to being fake and living a lie. If anyone knew better about such a thing, it's Ymir. She literally lived it and was punished severely for it...Actually found it really messed up that Ymir thought she was being punished just because she felt needed when that was the most human feeling to have
Diamond Dave: "I gotta imagine the last 10 episodes of the series must be insane." Me: *hyperventilates* Also, the "Coordinate" wasn't a translation error. I'll just say that
@@abrielneaseromero5130 More of a cognitive dissonance thing (similar to future diary) like changing or implanting memories to fit the narrative he has forced himself into in order to live and cope
@@AfterlifeAnubistrue, after all, split personalities have long been considered… questionable by the scientific community at best, completely fictional constructs to fabricate insanity pleas at worst. Then again, anime isn’t real life, so split personalities don’t seem that unfathomable when juxtaposed to stuff like titans
That's why I've been telling you guys that everything in this show means something. It's just not thrown in there. Every conversation, looks and places means something. Of course you're not going to pick up everything in 1 viewing I've watch this show 4 times and I'm still picking up something I didn't know b4.
I'll always love Ymir and Bertholdt having that chill conversation on the tree and her asking him "Do you resent me for it?", There's so much subtext around that
Between the first season and the second, there was a 4 year wait, so from 2013 to 2017. Then the 3rd season came out a year later in 2018 and the 4th season, which was broken into 4 parts. The first 2 came out in 2020 and then the other 2 in 2023.
It is fascinating to see that there is still a lot of interest in AoT after all this time. It appears to be one of the most-viewed content on your channel.
@@karabomasibi2331 Right? Love these guys. I'm personally a stickler for pronunciation but I never try to make it an issue unless it's botched BAD (like for example if they called Bertholdt "Birthhole" 💀)
They haven't abandoned the basement mission. It's just that they can't get there yet. You have to remember that Erens basement is all the way back in Shiganshina which is on the outer edge of Wall Maria which is the outer wall. When Wall Maria fell at the beginning of the series, everyone was evacuated to the inside of Wall Rose where Trost is located. The distance between Wall Maria and Wall Rose is approximately 100 Km so in order for them to get to the basement they will have to travel that distance from Trost to Shiganshina through Titan infested territory.
10:15 yep, you're the first one I see noticing this particular aspect about this show. The director really like to emphasizes emotions with the facial close-ups.
No. Eren quite literally does not understand the word "monkey". And Ymir did not try to stall, the two were waiting for sundown either way in order to move on. Also, Hange's sidekick is called Moblit. He's pretty much by her side most of the time. You definitely missed a few major hints in the second episode here btw. And some more that would've required Ilse's Notebook to be seen already... There's also a major clue that could somewhat spoil you something about the last season but you have to really pay attention for that. And there's also a detail you missed regarding Ymir's titan scenes. Generally lots of potential context clues in this episode to be honest. 30:26 No, she was a puppet. At the end though she tried to take responsibility to protect the people within it, which however did not work out. Ymir generally is a weird one because she wanted to stop lying to herself but ends up doing exactly that, by pretending to be this blunt asshole, when she actually is completely selfless and constantly helping people (for example when she carried Sasha to bed, the whole thing about using her later was just a pretense to not look nice). 40:16 Levi is wounded from his fight fight with Annie. Keep in mind that season 2 plays within just a couple of days, starting from Eren fighting Annie in the center. Coordinate is translated correctly. The basement isn't abandoned, it's just past the massive territory that they lost to the titans.
COMMENTERS PLEASE AVOID SPOILERS. DON'T MENTION ANYTHING THAT WASN'T SAID IN THE SERIES JUST YET, AND DON'T GIVE THESE GUYS CONCLUSIONS. THEY'LL FIGURE THINGS ABOUT BY THEMSELVES.
We know. Most people know. But there are always a few people that think being cheeky doesn’t count as a spoiler. Hate to break it to those people, but ANY mention of ANYTHING related whatsoever to anything that isn’t a past episode is considered a spoiler. It doesn’t have to be a “twist.” How some people don’t understand that is beyond me…
Remember Reiner infiltrated them, there are cases when people going 'under cover' also develop this hard compartmentalization similar to split personality even
39:10 i don't know where you are in the story at this point but "coordinate" wasn't a bad translation, it's a term that we don't understand at this point of the story but it means something, just keep that in mind.
Death Note is better. Demon Slayer is a starter anime for kids who scribbles with their crayolas and people who enjoy a shallow show with no substance saved by Ufotable's splash of colors. We're talking middle aged men here.
For your theory that Beast Titan could be Eren's dad, here's a quick reminder: Beast Titan was surprised to see maneuver gear and he was interested in it, and Eren's dad while being a doctor probably treated dozens of drunk guards that were misusing it (just an assumption thought, but the point is: Mr. Yeger is familiar with it). Still just wait and see the answer to this mystery, you'll like it.
@@KierrokCyclone There were no spoilers, just information that was already given to the viewer. It still could be a working theory, just with some details
@@niah1658 The funniest part is that by this time they are finishing 3rd season, so... yeah, I guess I'm letting them have their theories by commenting here and not on patreon in real time.
Ymir wasn't the leader of that cult. She was mistaken for having the king's blood and she was used as the sacrificial lamb(scape goat) when the soldiers came in to arrest them. 40:00 you guys have to realise the key is in Eren's house's basement in Shiganshina. Its quite far from where they are currently and there are lots of titans in between. And they're currently dealing with these threats at the moment.
She wasn't "mistaken". The priests in this cult "engineered" the means to control the crowd in the form of holy child they themselves were in control of. They just picked random orphan that could look the part. Having a scapegoat when the business crumpled many years later was just a side bonus for the priests.
37:44 I can give myself goosebumps by thinking of scratching my fingers or low quality dusty chalks to a chalkboard, or by thinking of a marker pens writing on a paper. And because of that, every Numberphile and Computerphile video gives me goosebumps.
You guys should check out demon slayer if you haven’t! The newest season just ended and it would be great time to catch up before they start the final arc!
Please do not silence the video too much, on other RU-vid channels the picture and sound are put without muting the sound and the picture in the frame stays longer 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I’m so so so so invested and excited seeing you guys reacting to this series, I’m loving how slowly the shows it’s starting to show little by little the story and I literally can’t wait to see your reaction through the whole seasons, it’s amazing❤❤
Answer's "Weady, Willing & Wable" & then Quinn's "Bert" lines haha 😂 & Oak enjoying the intro tune, Quinn "some folks are afraid you're gonna poke somebody's eye out with your symphony orchestra" Answer "his just using the room" lol 😂😂😂
Guys. Guys. Please. The titan with the *armor* is called the *ARMORED* TITAN The titan who's *really really big* is called the *COLOSSAL* titan. Reiner does not play both of these characters.
32:41 Answer, you are so very close! Yes, the whole reason Titans are attracted to humans and eat them is so that they can become a human. You're missing one detail! Edit: The details I am referring to has also not come up in the show yet or been revealed. Just pointing out that you are fully on the right train of thought.
hay gente que todavía se anima a decir algunas cosas que no deberían y se enojan porque "no piensan correctamente" dios, es lo divertivo de hacer teorias: equivocarse o adivinarle, reelaborar etc. Solo espero q no les suelten spoilers.
I hope you continue to react to this anime. I want to see your reactions to the season 3 and 4 👍🏻🔥. I'm so excited for your reactions to Season 3 and 4, please keep up the reactions guys !❤ i Love you guys
they are. they already ahead almost a full season over on patreon and including ilsa notebook ova after finale of this season. trust me, they finishing it!
I literally stopped watching AOT so I could watch it in real time with you guys. Keep up the amazing reactions! Would love for you to react to Demon Slayer. Such a lit anime! You'll become addicted, it's so hard to stop watching
Dont read any comments in that case. Even beyond mine at those point, pretty sure people will reply to spoil you. The comments here are already full of no context spoilers or hints which are still spoilers
Love watching you guys talk about the episodes and think about what’s going on. You guys are going to continue to love this show until the end of the series.
Knowing this show like the back of my hand and knowing what’s to come…I love listening to their opinions on everything. I’m here for the ride with you guys!! Love the content!!!
Every time I hear even mild disrespect for Shinzou wo Sasageyo, I'm like... "SIR! That is my WIFE you're talking about!!" Everyone has their taste, but that's like our national anthem. Gonna get one of those lawn signs that says "IN THIS HOUSE... WE DEDICATE OUR HEARTS." It is wild to rewatch this stretch of the show. By this episode, you've basically been given the full Wikipedia spoilers for 90% of the biggest mysteries of the story, but it's in a language you can't understand. Come back to 2x10 after you've reached Season 4, you'd be amazed at how much plot was hiding in plain sight.
Sir can u react to Manny Pacquiao Pacman (the impossivle underdog story) documentary. its a no copyright claim 40 minutes video and a jospeh vincent video. so u dont have to cut it. its pretty good too. always watching ur videos since lord of the rings reaction. much love from Toronto
37:50, its been a while but i remember being able to give myself goosebumps by thinking of something that was so cool it gave me goosebumps when i 1st watched it.
reiner clearly has a split personality and it comes through on multiple occasions (probably coming from his brain trying to forget about traumatic events that he experienced)
Paying attention to everything isn't possible for me ... I catch a third of the subtitles as they go by so fast, it's all I can keep up with so the context is all over the place and in the mean time, staying focused on subtitles, I can't watch what's actually happening on screen ... Honestly, If I hadn't seen the English dubbed version of this a dozen times over I would be completely lost ... Or, even more lost than you guys are since you're kinda still discovering the story for the first time ... But yeah, I would have zero clue what was going on.
Lesnar having identity issue is probably why the reveal of that him being the Armored Titan is so casual. And during the tower episode, Bernie actually was going to turn into a titan but Ymir beat him to it. You can see that he was ready to bite his hand during that scene.
It would be fun if you guys put up a white board and write all of your questions. Then if it gets answered on later episodes you just erased it or write the answer.
Another great reaction! Guys! Please don't read the comments! People are putting soft spoilers here (hopefully unmaliciously), talking about things that haven't quite happened yet.
Seriously guys, please don't read the comments. People unintentionally (or intentionally) let things slip or forget that we're only in Season 2. It's a lot more fun to develop your own theories and discover things as they unfold. I really wouldn't trust some people to zip their lips lol
AoT has 55/89 episodes with an ImdB rating of 9+ For reference, Breaking Bad has 30/62 episodes with an ImdB rating of 9+ AoT missing the G to be the 🐐
Soldier Reiner and Warrior Reiner. It really has nothing to do with his Titan transformation, because they've clearly been doing this longer than Eren. In Reiner's case it's more of a draling with guilt and PTSD situation. Trying to process what he and Burrito did. Also Lol, Brock Lesnar 😂 So it's Brock and Burrito, then. Adding literally didn't know what a monkey was, which tells you these other three are literally from an entirely different place. No monkeys on the island. This plus the cans written in another language that both Ymir and Reiner could read.
