R'as al Ghul was a physician of Chinese & Arabic ancestry. His father 'Sensei' was from Hong Kong. This background was established before Flashpoint and Crisis events that altered the DC universe.
One of the things I really love about the Dark Knight trilogy is how each film occupies the tropes of different genres. Batman Begins functions as a Samaria film, The Dark Knight is a crime thriller and The Dark Knight Rises is a war and disaster movie. Three distinct genres to tell the story of one man in each chapter of his life.
The Dark Knight Trilogy is the quintessential superhero trilogy. Batman Begins jumps it off just nicely. When Christopher Nolan was announced to renew Batman's saga on film, I was excited to see what he could do. Christian Bale was the best Bruce Wayne/Batman as being able to become both at the same time. Casting of other players around Bale is top notch for these characters, villains, allies, etc The writing, producing and vision was Ultra-realistic. The locations are a mixture of sets and actual places. Very well crafted to this world in which Batman exists. Still as dark and serious as possible. Resetting the bar for Batman's legacy on film and a new example for superhero franchises in reboot mode. RIP to Rutger Hauer (Earle) and Tom Wilkerson as the first live-action Carmine Falcone. Check out Nolan's earlier films, Memento (2000) & Insomnia (2002), both are amazing.
Great Reaction...... I always thought when you consider the DC Universe..... That Gothom was Chicago, and Metropolis was New York........ The character of Bruce Wayne (any identity of a superhero) is intentionally made to be something other/opposite than their Hero Character, so to disguise/throw off any thoughts that they may be the same person....... Bruce being a A-hole sending everyone home from his Birthday party was a undercover way of keeping them safe from what the League of Shadows was planning....... I Enjoy this Movie, Cause it is one of the Few that actually shows Bruce Training to learn the skills he needs as Batman.....
The Dark Knight is probably the best movie in the trilogy, but this one is my favorite. It takes liberties from the source material but it creates a gritty grounded take on Batman.
Spoiler Alert: As a Batman fan, who saw TDK 2x in theaters, I strongly disagree. I loved the movie a lot in the beginning, but then the reality set in. Batman would never take the blame for killing 5 people and go into hiding for 8 years. They easily could have blamed all the murders on the Joker. The fact that they undo it all in TDKR proves that point. Secondly, I like Ledger, but all he did was play a psychopath wearing makeup, he did not play any Joker that I know of from comics. The Oscar should have went to RDJ that year.
Whole trilogy are pretty good movies, not my favorite batman films though. Cast is quite solid, but Katie Holmes was miscast as love interest for Bruce Wayne in my opinion, she was fine for the most part but i didnt felt or saw almost any chemistry between her and Bale. Also fight scenes are quite badly choreographed and shot. Funny, but in whole film there is not even one memorable fight scene which i honestly would love to rewatch even once...and this is film with ninjas and batman in it... Final fight between Liam Neeson and Bale are probably the worst, it maybe choreographed not bad or even good, but it was really badly shot, fight was short and all we see is just close up shots of either batman's or his enemy's face... Overall the story is good, acting is solid, cinematography is very good (except fight scenes and some action sequences) action is ok, but still this movie is far from perfect or very solid batman film. Just my opinion. P. S. Also, quite terrible design of batmobile... Just a rectangle with 4 wheels...

If you think Man of Steel is the best origin for Supes, then you don't know anything about the character. I like Henry cavill and I like man of steel but there is no comparison to Superman (1978) in terms of the music & story.
