26:47 seems to be my favorite part. What a way to play some music after putting a guy down. Was this wounded soldier a bad guy? Did he have it coming? Who cares, let’s play some music like we’re dancing over his grave 😂

They had to leave Lee and get to the President or she would have died for nothing. It is VERY sad news about Alex Garland quitting directing as his movies and TV shows have a certain quality that is incredibly unique, beautiful, haunting and watchable. We his fans need to make a loud noise on social to make him aware of how important his work is to us. For more Warner Moura can I please recommend to all Elite Squad 1&2, which sounds like a sh*tty action movie but is actually a very raw and unflinching look at en Bopo, Rio's elite police "death" squad that operates in the favela and police corruption. Elite Squad 2 is one of the best films I have seen.

Thanks for the comment! I definitely hope Alex Garland continues to make films and TV shows in the future. I've enjoyed everything I've seen of his. Even Men was somewhat enjoyable, at least the visuals were amazing. I still need to watch 'Ex Machina', which I heard was amazing! And I'll definitely have to check that suggestion out in the future. I'm currently editing my reaction to 'Killer Klowns From Outer Space'. That should be out in a couple days 😊

A lot of people have problems with Texas and California linking up, but it's actually not as crazy as it sounds. Both states have a long history of secessionist movements. Yes, California is a very liberal state... in the cities and primarily in the south of the state. In the north, there are tons of libertarian/right-wing gun loving types who have wanted to secede for years (look up the State of Jefferson movement or Cascadia.)

I'm not from the US and while I only know some basic clichés about some states in the US, nevertheless I find the whole movie premise shocking. All 'empires' fall eventually and nothing stays ahead or on top, but the US tearing itself apart (me being from an allied country who so far often relied on the US security umbrella in some form) is a weird notion to me. Especially as a German. We historically fought to unite into a German state from many smaller ones. Not counting the bad crap from WW2, we are a federal republic now. The thought of one state leaving is odd to us, it would weaken all. So I guess that mindset I apply to the US. Any split would weaken all sides I think, even if one state or a union of states thinks it can benefit. I always think "try to fix your issues another way before it escalates that far" :D

I’m waiting on getting a new PC so I could react to this movie, saw it in theaters. You were saying the same things I was too, nice attention to detail. Glad you enjoyed the movie as much as I did! Something else I noticed was at the beginning of the movie, when the explosion shook the glass as the TV displayed an image of the US and the factions on the map. The shaking of the glass while on that screen signified just how fractured the country as a whole is in this timeline. Edit: also if you watched through the end there’s a picture Jessie took that is being edited and the end of it is the same squad posing with the corpse of the president, as if they bagged a great prize in their hunt. I’m pretty sure this America is screwed with that pic

I was born in the USA so believe me this movie is cruel and brutal to me whilst being quite realistic. Sad very sad, I pray to god no horror divides us again.
