FIRST TIME WATCHING DEATH BATTLE! | SPONGEBOB VS AQUAMAN (REACTION) 

It's absolutely hilarious that this is your first death battle considering it's literally the biggest stomp in the show's history. Most matches are a LOT closer, with some fights even coming down to one character having one thing in their arsenal that barely gives them the edge over their opponent. The most recent seasons have had a lot of great battles in them and I definitely recommend checking out more.

The voice acting and animation didn't have to go as hard as they did for a massive joke but we're sure glad they did. They mentioned in a podcast that the voice actor for Spongebob here is also the guy who voiced Omni-man for them. The versatility!

I definitely recommend watching all the way to the end. They do the Next Time teasers at the end. Also, Death Battle’s been going on for over a decade. SpongeBob vs. Aquaman is just their most recent one. This is Season 9. And next up is Jason Vorheess (Friday the 13th) vs. Michael Myers (Halloween), and it will be the thirteenth episode… and be released on Halloween.

To answer your question, this is Spongebob’s first appearance on the show (and he was used for a joke episode that Death Battle likes to do every now and then). Granted it’s a really great joke episode! And the one you hovered over at the end (Omniman vs Homelander) is a top tier episode. Hell, most episodes in Season 9 are straight up bangers. But I’d avoid most episodes from Season 1 as it really hasn’t aged very well. But overall, I enjoyed your reaction to this episode and the absurdity and spectacle of it all.

The Bikini Atoll theory was the original pilot origin of SpongeBob. Of course SpongeBob doesn’t continuity that well, things keep getting retconned.

There are over 150 episodes of Death Battle spanning over 10 years, I highly recommend watching more.

Watching SpongeBob VS Aquaman as your first death battle is like reading The Dark Knight Returns as your first Batman comic. It's insanely good, but it's also very different from the norm and you don't get a general understanding on why the series as a whole is good.

And by the way, this is SpongeBob's first time in death battle since it's establishment. Death battle always amazes me, they brought the worst contender against the most powerful contender in the show's history, Holy fuck

It was a heat lamp that dehydrated SpongeBob. He can survive out of the water and he can go on without his brain. SpongeBob has the current highest CALCULABLE speed in Death Battle history.

If you want to do another Death battle, I recommend Thor vs Vegeta. One of the best in this year.

Death Battle has always been a romp, especially after Season 2 (Season 1 was a bit jank, because early 2000's stuff). This is without question a comedic episode, and BY FAR the most obvious outcome Death Battle has ever had in it's history.
