Let's not forget the time Dieon had a chance to tackle Bo Jackson, but ended up getting a stiff arm mush to the face and pushed to the ground. There's no comparing the two. I don't know if there will ever be another like him, he was electric on the field. Was a sad day when he left Atlanta. He seemed like he was all over the football field. He was certainly gifted athletically and had a great work ethic. We used to go to the Falcons pre season workouts and he was so kind to people and little kids, you would never guess he was a NFL star, wish I could say the same for some of his teammates at the time, my 8 yo son asked one of them for an autograph and dude looked at him and said"you are just a punk ass spoiled kid, get outta my face and off my field". Deion wasn't that kinda guy at all, he loved everyone.

He was spectacular, but it's hard to judge him against future players because quarterback players gotten so much better. Prime was during my era and the unofficial story was he ran a 4.1 and official 4.2 in a gold chain. Unbelievable speed, vision, and one of the greatest athletes of my time. Literally teams would not throw at him all game. He would bait QBs just to get action. He is the GOAT. Great video fellas. Hard to study his technique because he was so gifted. Check out his 30 for 30 documentary.
@hepwo91222
@hepwo91222 Год назад
yeah, it was crazy how he would shut down an entire side of the field as QB's often were afraid to throw his way at all, never quite seen anyone else like him.
@rockethead5705
@rockethead5705 Год назад
Rod Woodson was better. Not only was he a better cover man with more picks but he was an unbelievable tackler. Sanders was absolutely terrible when it came to tackling. It's not even a debate as to who was the better football player, corner, or DB. People use that GOAT title too loosely, Rod Woodson was the youngest player in the NFL 75th anniversary team and in his last season in the NFL, he lead the league with 8 picks. Nope, I'm sorry but Sanders is not the GOAT.
@hepwo91222
@hepwo91222 Год назад
@@rockethead5705 I will agree Rod Woodson tackled better and a fantastic defensive back, one of the best I have ever seen, but measuring by number of interceptions can be misleading as its still a great stat to accumulate, but it also means the QB is throwing in your direction. I mean is the all time INT leader Paul Krause the best DB ever? Never saw him play, but highly doubt it. To me, Deion Sanders is the GOAT, QB's often wouldn't even throw to his side of the field, he was THAT good. Deion tackled like it was two hand touch, but he was sooooo good, he rarely had to tackle the guy he was covering.
@LynxStarAuto
@LynxStarAuto Год назад
@@rockethead5705 correction Deion could definitely tackle, but he preferred to make plays on the ball. That was his style. So at times when he missed on the play, the WR had the advantage after the catch. However @3:33 and @4:10 don't tell me that man couldn't tackle. Also Rod Woodson was definitely up there as one of the greatest as well.
@JH-pt6ih
@JH-pt6ih 2 месяца назад
@@LynxStarAuto Deion was not a very good tackler - particularly with the more run oriented play back then and corners would need to play some run support. The first clip you put up there the announcer even says, "you don't see that very often." (And I don't even see a tackle with the second clip - he just punches the ball out from behind). Sanders would go low to the ground, like in the first clip, and often without much contact - which would give up a few more yards on a play back when there were still teams that were playing closer to "3 yards and a cloud of dust" style football. But his other game was so good it offset this. But honestly I don't like this non-stop ranking and who is better than who - these players were great players that could just be appreciated for what they did.

I watched Dion and a lot of other great football players what made Dion so special and distinct and unique, defensively speaking he took away a whole side of a football field .if you threw it his way he was probably going to pick it off chances were very high. In other words he changed the way you had to play your game against him not a lot of players do that. Especially ones that play cornerback. And to say he had elite speed is to say the least that man had makeup speed .I've seen him stumble fall down get back up and still pick the ball off. It's incredible the speed he has it's blindingly fast. You know how some guys run around bases and they're fast . It's like the Marlins when they won their year they were blindingly fast and that's how Dion was.

Gents, great stuff, always look forward to viewing your content, as it NEVER disappoints. In respects to the Hospitality State, there are multiple regions/areas which have little to no similarities with the other areas. The roughest area of the state is the Delta, as I grew up on the coast, and those two areas could not be any more opposite of one another. Simply stated, there is a reason "The Blues" originated in the Delta. Jackson is in a category of its own, as I have nothing positive to share about that place, as the legislation of the state is here, and enough said about that area. There are the surrounding areas of both Meridian and Tupelo which have some families which go back to several generations. The Gulf Coast has a large DoD presence [Ingalls shipbuilding shipyard (Pascagoula), Keesler AFB (Biloxi) & Navy SeeBees complex (Gulfport)], as the Gambling industry is three decades old as of the first of August last year [2022]. The areas in & around Hattiesburg, Oxford & Starkville have a large college population. The best people, or the ones which fortify the title "Hospitality State" are from the Brookhaven / McComb area, as these are some of the best people you will ever encounter, as they literally will give their shirt off their back to help out someone in need. Mississippi has some great people, but the economic gap between economic classes are too extreme, as the legislators have had three decades to decrease the divide throughout the state, and they had failed epically. If you can find a clip, I remember seeing a play where Deion was sent in on a blitz on Jim Kelly of the Bills. He got there and was on the ground around the Bills' 10 yard line. Kelly got the ball off to a receiver named Don Beebe. Beebe catches it in stride at the 30 and has clear sailing with a blocking escort. Out of nowhere, you see these feet on the tv - it's Deion. He caught up to Beebe and knocked him out of bounds at the 5 yard line. Think of that. Beebe had a 20 yard start in motion wile Deion was on his back 20 yards behind - and caught up to him within another 60 yards. Dude was super-human at times.

Deion ALSO played basketball lol Man is the GOAT. He was later known as a mercenary as he didn't look to sign these long contracts he was short term for a high pay that year. He only played out his rookie contract with Falcons who drafted him so 5yrs then signed for only 1yr with 49ers after having 20 plus INT and 10 total touchdowns you know he could've signed long-term anywhere, but he won with SanFran and dipped to Dallas and won back 2 back 1 of only about 7 players to win back 2 back superbowls with different teams(sure it sas less at the time). He's 1 of only 2 players to score 6 different ways: Int ret, punt ret, kick return, fum ret, recieving, and rushing and he'd probably would've been able to add Passing had the run more fake pass/runs to him then he throws a pass but regardless dude was a monster. Also only player to have a reception and interception in the same superbowl game.

The greatest pick--6 threat of any DB in NFL history. Offenses literally did not throw his way some games...he got bored and that's when they began to use him on offense.

He was named the NFL's Defensive Player of the Year. Sanders won two Super Bowls during his career. He started at right cornerback for the 49ers in their 49-26 victory over the San Diego Chargers in Super Bowl XXIX and at left cornerback in the Cowboys 27-17 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers in Super Bowl XXX.

The only time the world saw 49ers coach George Seifert crack a smile was when he decided to let Deion Sanders play WR at the end of a game that San Francisco was winning. Deion ran a fly and just barely missed catching a TD pass. The next season, Deion was signed by Dallas, and played both CB and WR.

He use bait the QBs letting them think WR was open then jump the routes. Legend has it Deion ran one time at the combine ran so fast kept going and didn’t picked his stuff left and didn’t say anything to anybody then left the building into a limo

Sanders was so good at kick returns, the opposition would not kick to him out of fear of a return for a touchdown.

When people say Prime was a top 5 player, this is why: he literally shut down _his entire side of the field_ every play he was in the game. Like, it got to the point where QBs straight up didn't throw his way. He was also super skilled at baiting the QB into making a throw by _faking_ a misread which he would then immediately "recover" from... he was so fast he'd still beat the receiver to the ball.

Deion got back to back Super Bowls. One with the 49ers then the next year with the cowboys. And yeah he played offense, defense, kick return and punt return in the games. On top of the he played in the mlb as well. Played in a braves games in the series took a chopper across town and played in a falcons game right after.

He ran a 4.1 . Him Bo, and Darrell Green at that time were the fastest in the league. Darrell Green was older but still was running a low 4.3 to 4.28. Bo Jackson was just a beast and actually ran a 3.9 - 4 flat at his combine according to some who clocked him. Deion's combine was similar as he ran a 4.1 - 4.2 and left. Deion also made it to where QBs would not throw to his side of the field bc it was a guaranteed pick.

After he built his reputation they wouldnt throw it to his side of the field ever or his numbers would be even more insane. He was also in a dunk contest one time.
