I don't think Harry's original intention was to steal Lloyd's girl. At the moment he just found it too awkward to introduce his shy friend, I think it was accidental.
@@ckobo84I think that's an underrated aspect of this movie. The realism of Harry's reaction to the entire situation. His intentions actually appeared to be genuine, but he was in too deep before he could fix it.
He referred to the waitress as “Flo” from 70s comedy sitcom “Alice” then got her own show “Flo”. Actress Polly Holiday kept us viewers in stitches. Great one-liners. They kinda look alike😂
This movie has never struck me as a mom type of movie lol Jim and lauren holly started dating from this movie and got married but it only lasted like a year. When he says excuse me Flo it’s a reference to a sitcoms called Alice from the 70’s and it was a about a woman who ends up working at a diner on Arizona and one of her co workers is a woman named Flo who dated a lot of men and her catchphrase was “kiss my grits” People used say she’s got a nice pair of headlights if a woman’s big boobs.
Fun fact: Jim Carrey chipped his tooth as a child and had his dentist remove the cap as he felt this would suit the character but without informing the directors or film crew before doing so
When i got to my first unit in the Army, i walked into a room with a couple guys who were a rank higher than me and let them know of something they needed to know (i forget now what it was), but they just nodded and stared at me, trying to make me uncomfortable as the FNG. I let a couple beats go by and said, "big gulps huh? Welp, see ya later." They both cracked and were like okay that was good. One of my proudest achievements in my military career. Dumb and dumber prepared me perfectly for that moment.

We heard they were gonna be in town filming so my mom took me to go see them when they were filming the part where they were at 7/11. I got to see the master at work! When they were done, Jim came over and signed my shirt. Epic

I haven't seen a ton of commentaries with the movie 'spirt stallion of the cimarron'. It's genuinely one of the best movies because of it's ability to show and not tell. Highly recommend a watch!

Fun fact: that ending was a little too ..."typical" according to jim carrey, so he wanted harry and lloyd to not have a happy ending, but just an ending.
LOL! It takes more than 40+ min to drive from one part of Houston, TX to another. Usually closer to an hour, depending on where your start point is 17:02 I live in San Antonio and most places are like 20-30 min these days with traffic
Love this movie...what is funny about "Flo" at the diner. It was a comedy sitcom in the 80's of a waitress at a restaurant who was country and outspoken.
I still recall some talk show, some kind of comedy thing, where that actor was talked to about his more refined roles and such, but every time they would go "We have a clip of that", it would then show that toilet scene again.
Just saying, I have many UK friends here in the great white north - tho it gets -20C, they prefer the weather, because it's a dry cold (not bone chilling) plus winter in just a unique experience

Flo was a waitress in a TV show from the late 70s/early 80s called "Alice". In this show, Alice was a waitress at "Mel's Diner", and had a co-worker named Flo, and she was southern and used to say "Kiss my grits!" a lot.
The last scene confirms the title of the movie. After Harry said that "Town is to the right" that was dumb, but then comes Lloyd with dumber "no it is in other direction".....
