FIRST TIME WATCHING *Edge of Tomorrow* 

I’ve seen this movie so many times and I still enjoy it as much as I did when I first saw it in theaters. Definitely the best “time-loop movie” we’ve gotten since Groundhog Day in my opinion.

This movie is criminally underrated and one of my favourites. The way they show that he’s done things hundreds of times without telling us is brilliant. The slow/unrequited love story too. Brilliant.

I've watched this movie so many times, and I still enjoy it every time. Watching Tom Cruise die horribly and repeatedly is hilarious, and the whole movie in general is awesome! Love it!

One of the best sci fi films of the past 20 years no doubt about it. It never got the credit it was due when it came out, but it's so nice to see that people are finally discovering it in mass amounts, and it seems that every person who sees it, loves it! its just that good!

Low key one of the best films of the 2010s. Both hilarious and action packed and I loved the designs of the Jackets, dropships and mimics.

I love this movie, and am so happy it has finally been greenlit for a sequel. Also it took me so many watches to finally realize that her slow motion intro is from Cage's point of view, and that is how he sees her the first time every time. Boy had it bad from day one.

You talk about how, mentally, exhausting whaty he went through was. Not only does he have to deal with the pain and trauma of him, and everyone else dying over and over, but he seems to wake up as soon as he dies, so he never gets the mental relaxation of sleep either. Probably, the closest he gets is when he has the visions.

Edge of Tomorrow is legit one of the best movies to come out in the last decade. It should have been a billion dollar movie, but the marketing was terrible. Terrible trailers and a title that really didn't make much sense if you didn't know what the movie was about. It sounded like a weird drama or something. I'm glad you like it!

If anyone's interested the book the movie is based on (All you need is kill), and the manga-adaption, are both pretty good too! I mean there are some pretty big differences, but I'd still recommend them if you like the concept!

The CBBC show you were on about was called “Young Dracula” & that guy played Eric Van Helsing, unreal how someone else recognised him from that because when I first went to see this in cinemas that’s exactly where I recognised him from 😂 CBBC was so goated back in the day bro

It's an interesting idea that she's only known him for one day but he's known her for perhaps years. This is an underappreciated science fiction story. In the Manga this is based on ("All you need is kill") the aliens have the ability to send information only to their previous selves, but I like the twist they came up with for this movie. They've talked about a sequel but to tell you the truth I hope they don't make one. This one is fine by itself.

I'm glad you watched this movie, I think it is really underrated. I really suggest you should try out Arrival. It's a sci-fi film about an alien invasion but it's very beautiful and the story is amazing.

Palm Springs is a great time loop movie, it’s a comedy/romcom so a lot different to this but it’s great and stars Andy Samberg & JK Simmons

Yesssss, nice, Edge of Tomorrow is one of the best. Just so fun and good, and as you kinda mentioned, it has everything genre wise. Lotta action and thrills, and some well-placed romance and humor.

Saw this in the theatre on a whim. Was very impressed. Thought it would be mid but it was actually a great action-packed ride.

Great film. One of very, very few Western adaptions of a Japanese Manga that is absolutely just brilliant start to finish.

This movie is like Groundhog Day but with a Sci Fi Action Twist to it!

One cool aspect of the movie is that the reason why the scenes are shot on the beach is because of the way the mimics move, they looked extremely artificial so they found that by kicking up sand they could disguise the artificial look and make them look solid and somewhat natural in their movements, that along with the fact they were actually on a beach with tons of explosives and machines kicking up sand while filming every to get every actors genuine reaction and to also put much less stress on VFX artists cause fucking design of the mimics is a VFX nightmare since it doesn’t have a really comprehensive structure and it’s reactions and motions are just ludicrously swift, the VFX team did a good job adapting to the concept.

That professor moody impersonation was on absolutely on point, considering I’m Irish got the accent down to a T 😂😂

Fun fact: This film is based on a Japanese book called All You Need Is Kil by Hiroshi Sakurazaka. Its a short book but very good!

Cruise puts on an incredible acting display, going from coward to hero, simply through facial expressions.

fan fact: This movie is based on Japanese light novel "All You Need Is Kill." Also if Tom Cruise was supposed to play same person as is main character in light novel he died more 300 times.

Saw this in theater on a whim and it was one of the best action movies I'd seen in the previous ten years, actually approaching Mad Max Fury Road levels of perfection.

Oblivion with Tom Cruise is another good one

I highly recommend watching "The Tomorrow War" (2021 movie); it's also about an epic war against an alien invasion with time travel involved. It's a great movie and very fun to watch.

you have to see happy death day its the same concept like edge of tomorrow but its a girl wakeing up the same day and searching for killer who kills her everytime.

If you wanna see another awesome Tom Cruise movie with great twists I recommend to check out Oblivion

this is literally based on a Japanese light novel, which was also adapted into a manga... so the plot is basically anime-level, that's why it's good

Great movie. You should watch other Time travel movies like Frequency 2000 and The Butterfly Effect 2004 or Prince of Persia 2010. Also other great Tom Cruz movies like The Firm, A Few Good Man and Jack Reacher

There's an anime called Re:Zero that has toys kinds of concept. Protagonist gets transported to a fantasy world with zero parts apart from returning to one spot back in time after dying. Its more psychological than action though.

I Love that you compared this to attack on titan cause is not very far from it, since this movie is based on a manga, so it has the same background! The Edge of Tomorrow is the subtitle, the manga's name is All You Need is Kill.

you should check out ‘Source Code’, ‘Vantage Point’, and ‘Paycheck’! all of them have great concepts and good execution. if you liked Edge of Tomorrow, i think you’d love them too.

For those who wonder why she kissed him in the end, consider this. She have gone thru the same. She knew the feeling of being with someone but then forgotten again and again. She simply give him a favor. A small reward after all he have gone thru. She might think that, after that months or even years of torture and death repeating the days, he gonna die anyway. A simple kiss is a good boy reward. That's why she give him kiss at the day she met him. Crazy first date, I know.

I'm surprised no one recommended this movie to you. It's really good. I'm glad you found it on your own. I'm a highly recommend a movie called Pacific rim, not the second one, but the first one absolutely watch that That one is amazing, Pacific rim

2:01: I think the "terrible greenscreen" at the beginning was meant to look that way. It was to show the artifice of the media talking head presentation. (The movie surely had the budget to make a more convincing background, so I assume it was a choice.)

A really good “groundhog-day” type of movie is “Palm Springs” I think it came out in like 2020. It’s VERY good. Please watch it and react to it

Why does Rita die whenever she starts the helicopter and the mimics attack, whereas Cage has been able to survive at least a few times when he starts the helicopter, since he has been able to take off and fly a few times (meaning he survived the mimic ambush, just like he did the last time)? Why isn't there a scenario where Cage starts the helicopter and Rita also enters it with him and they both survive the ambush?

I watched this movie in theaters when I barely spoke english or knew what was goin on but I still loved it

My condolences to people who watched, knowing the Live Die Repeat slogan. I went to the theatre clueless and that was fucking hilarious than main characters started dying all other the places, Tom melted, black screen, we all were so confused.

I'm not sure if it was a London type of movie but I recommend a movie called "Attack The Block" if you can find the movie, it's a bit of an old movie but it's so good I like it till this day👌
