The Eternals are always divided in two teams of five when they go to planets, the first team is the Attack Team (Ikaris, Gilgamesh, Thena, Kingo, Makkari), and the second is the Support Team (Ajak, Sersi, Phastos, Druig, Sprite).
fun fact: Druig's beaded bracelet (on his left wrist with his leather jacket) is actually Makkari's! Chloé herself confirmed to me Druig likes to "borrow" from Makkari from time to time (and took her bracelet). I love that detail, and that he still has it after all this time, especially since their relationship wasn't planned in the script at all, was added last minute to the film and Barry and Lauren improvised most of it! (Originally, it was supposed to be Druig and Sersi before Chloé saw Barry and Lauren's chemistry! 🤗)
That’s so interesting that it was supposed to be Druig and Sersi, but script wise it would make sense bc two things - Icarus having beef with Druig bc of the supposed relationship that was meant to happen AND bc of Druig being all against everything and the path they’re supposed to go on
@@M_k-zi3tn never felt like one to me before, don't know about you but people's attention spans have been decreasing a lot in recent years so maybe that's the reason
this movie is so hated by marvel fans because it’s a “filler” or whatever, but i’ve watched it like 4 times and i’ve fallen in love with the characters 🥲🫶🫶
In the comics, Ikaris is the Prime Eternal, and the defacto leader of the team. In the movie he gets dunked on and made into a villain for some reason.
not exactly a villain, cuz both sides were correct, antagonist is the correct word and antagonist doesn't mean he/she is the villain or is always wrong
Ikaris' character made this movie far better imo. If we just had the Deviants as the 'bad guys' then it'd be part of the 'villian is a bad version of the heroes' doing evil just to do evil. Rarely happens a antagonist makes you think 'okay, destroying earth might actually be the right answer here' at least for a second
I don’t care what anyone says because this has to be THE MOST BEAUTIFUL MOVIE IN THE MCU (shot-wise). Also, hearing Blade’s voice at the end sent chills down my spine. I can’t wait for his movie.
FINALLY! Movie critics gave this a super low rating but Audience says otherwise! One of the most beautiful cinematography in the MCU, and of the best fight scenes tbh, They did a great job how a speedster fight in our perspective instead of the speedsters perspective, no slow motion. You're one of the few reactors who didn't cut the kiss between phastos and his husband I appreciate that man! To be fair Deviants are more powerful than Chitauri army that Avengers fought if you think about it. many people didn't catch it but at the end Sersi explained that Tiamut kinda helped her in sealing him. And that end when Arishem appeared! that gave me chills literally! Like that's frightening to happen and that's how GALACTUS would look like if he came to Earth not a cloud that other superhero movies do.
good to see the appreciation of the movie in your comment and loved it that they didn't shy away from actually showing Arishem instead of just clouds (cough *Fantastic Four 2* cough) also I stopped believing in critics scores a long time ago
Yeah...Makkari's speed running, sonic boom and shockwave is realistic. Only unrealistic thing is she would crush any normal human's bones when she carries them in that speed.
Best representation is quicksilver your witnessing the world through his eyes when he runs and it would obviously be in slo mo like how a fly sees in slo mo
11:30 serci's power set is amazing she is literally broken her power is to change any matter into different matter she wasn't producing water she was changing the soil into oxygen and hydrogen. imagine if we could turn all the trash in the world into solid 24k gold or burger patties or industrial metals like steel. literally so broken
Can't wait for the upcoming movies after this one! My favorite part about this was seeing the introduction of the Celestials and more of the cosmic characters in the MCU.
Gemma Chan previously portrayed Minn-Erva in Captain Marvel 2019. Now she's back as Sersi, and she got to keep her accent this time. Kumail Nanjiani had to go on a strict Marvel diet. However in early 2020 while being interviewed, Jimmy Kimmel gave Kumail a bunch of pizza and cake to munch on for the first time in a while. Then early last year, Simu Liu (Shang-Chi) filled in for Kelly Clarkson in her talk show and also got to interview Kumail. He revealed that his niece was so happy to see her uncle on screen as Kingo. She even enjoyed dancing along to the Bollywood dance number. Also, Bryan Tyree Henry revealed in a behind-the-scenes interview that he was crying with excitement when he got to put on his costume for Phastos for the first time. I’ve been waiting so long to tell you that this is Bryan’s second Marvel role. His first was lending his voice as Miles Morales’ father Jeff in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. @50:35 That's the Ebony Blade that Sprite mentioned to Thena. Dane is about to become the next Black Knight. @50:46 That was Eric Brooks better known as Blade. He’s a vampire hunter who so happens to be half-human half-vampire. He's being portrayed by Mahershala Ali, and he'll have his own film as part of Phase Five. (Also Mahershala had voiced Miles’ uncle Aaron, the Prowler.)
When you watch Secret Wars, the enemies are the skrulls. They are descendants of deviants. The same deviants that the Eternals kill. Deviants mutate frequently and take on new characteristics and forms. The deviant that killed Ajak learned how to use the Eternals powers via the Eternals memories. The same is true for the skrulls. Celestials can change their size. From human size to super massive. Also, Eternals are automatically reincarnated after death. They can change their sex. Ajak was originally created as a Latina female. Which is who she is in the movie. There was a lot of drama about the Eternals powers initially. Their comic book counterparts are a lot more powerful. I believe the reason why they’re not as powerful in the MCU is because of Arishem. I believe he has lied to them to keep them obedient to his cause. But the more they use their powers, the more powerful they get. Sersei wasn’t supposed to be able to change living things. But she changed a deviant and a celestial into a tree and stone statue. She made Sprite human in the end. Which adds more validity to my theory. This movie is such a beautiful movie. Possibly my favorite MCU film. There were some things I would’ve changed. But absolutely loved it.
The voice at the end is Mahershala Ali, who has been cast as Blade. And one day, if directors stop leaving the project and actors stop striking, we might actually *see* him as Blade. I've been waiting for what feels like a hundred years. I love Blade in the comics. And in the Spider-man cartoon. The Wesley Snipes movies are okay too. And Mahershala is such a fire actor (he's great in everything).
The blonde woman, Thena, is Thanos cousin. Another Eternals came to a planet called Titan and had kids with Titans. Titans are like superhumans, but without needing a super-soldier-serum, Thanos Father is A'Lars the eternal, and his mother is a Titan named Sui-San Thanos brother is named Eros the eternal of love aka StarFox and there grandfather is Uranos.
This is the best movie in the MCU. Thematically, musically, and visually in every aspect this movie has way more debt than anything they’ve ever put out I am not surprised it didn’t do well at the box office nobody expect that level of quality in a Marvel film 😂
Imagine if the MCU began with the 1st Avengers film with only 1 or 2 flashback scenes for each of the previous 5 films. To me that's Eternals. It's not bad, but trying to squeeze in so many heroes & backstory into 1 film made it hard to follow. If it had been a show of say 10 episodes that would have worked much better in terms of pacing & character development.
Yep 100% agreed. I think a lot of it is actually great but the reason it doesn't work really well overall is because there's just so much packed into one movie. It just ends up devaluing all the characters, settings, stories, etc.
I have an eternals comic, knew pretty much everything and this movie wasn't even close to being similar story wise and character wise either ... pretty dissapointing for me
I haven’t seen anyone else say this, but Thena isn’t triggered by fighting. She’s triggered by the sound of guns. Like phastos said, war leads to advancement and the growth of intelligent life. Guns signal that humanity is advancing so when she hears them Athena tries to stop the emergence by taking out the Eternals so the deviants can control the size of the population.
@@theamazingspooderman2697facts, I think people forget how poorly Thor 2 was received when it came out... or were too young to remember. I have the same feeling about this film; that it'll age like fine wine.
@@deathswitch2404 I feel a lot of Phase 4 movies will age like wine, cuz all I heard were nitpicks take Dr. Strange 2 for example, people said it had bad CGI so they didn't like the movie but when I watched it the only bad cgi was Dr. Strange's third eye
Inside joke in this movie Jon Snow likes someone named cercei And Jon snow actor lot Harrington plays the black Knight with the ebony blade in credit seen you hear near blade talking to him black Knight is a original avenger in comics
One thing I can't wait for is Blade (who is the voice in the post credit scene) and for Dane to eventually become the Black Knight, both on the supernatural side of the MCU
i’m excited for blade but also nervous that it could go very wrong, the cast looks good so far and i think it would benefit from an elsa bloodstone cameo. she was amazing in werewolf by night and marvel really needs to start connecting these characters and i think her being in blade is a great way to do that considering they both reside in the same corner of the mcu
when icarus go to sun to commit suicide that was a reference to a story "Daedalus and Icarus" where in icarus fly close to the sun that why the wax wing got melt and he died
In my humble opinion, the big issue about this movie is the really slow pacing that makes it feel like such a bore to watch during the beginning. The action, storyline, drama, camerawork, special effects... It's all not bad at all.
Bro the voice at the end was blade played by mahershala ali. but you definitely need to watch the original blade trilogy 1-2 are some of the best and first marvel movies made. And he is one of the coolest characters ever you would love those movies. He is my favorite mcu character hands down
I know you probably won’t see this, but you started to catch onto something towards the end. Almost all the Eternals, in the MCU, were inspired by Greek mythology. Ikaris-Icarus, Thena-Athena, Ajak-Ajax, Gilgamesh-Gilgamesh, Phastos-Hephaestus, Sersi-Circe, Starfox(Eros)-Eros, and Kro(lead Deviant)-Kronos. The others don’t have any direct association, but I’m going to assume Druig-Delos, Makkari-Hermes/Mercury, and Kingo-Dionysus. The only eternal with no apparent reference to Greek mythology is Sprite, who could be inspired by a number of gods, most notable Loki.
About the credit scene: Dane in the comics becomes Black Knight. The blade he was about to touch is called Ebony Blade and gives its holder superhuman abilities. He's kinda immortal too. He also leads the Avengers at some point. And the voice at the end is the voice of the actor Mahershala Ali - the actor who's supposed to play Blade (a movie currently in development).
