Love your reactions as usual. You are very clever. Definitely Ravenclaw! I had to LOL at you talking about Myrtle's noises. Fun fact about the actress that played her. Shirley Henderson was 35 when she first played the teenage Moaning Myrtle. It is ironic how Voldemort and the Slytherins were so pro "pure blood" wizards when he is half-blood himself. Harry is closer to pure blood than he is. So ready to see your reaction to the next movie. The third movie starts the beginning of the darker themes. The movies grow along with the kids and you will start to feel it with the next movie.
thank you! I can't believe Myrtle's actress was 35 😳 talk about a baby face. I shouldn't be surprised that a villian is somehow ignoring that he is included in the ppl he hates. it might be worse that his followers are ignoring this fact. I'm VERY excited to start the next movie you guys are hyping it up 🙌🏽
@@Anti-HeroTV most of Voldemort's followers have no idea that he's a half-blood. Only the ones who went to school with him might know and there weren't many of them.
@toodlescae that wasn't made clear until I finished the book. idk why they make everything about him more vague in the movie. still it shows he's ashamed & ignoring his past bc he doesn't tell ppl who he really is.
I love how Dumbledore is always three steps ahead of everyone else. He absolutely knew Harry and Ron was in Hagrid's house under the cloak. This is the greatest wizard alive, he knows things other wizards could only dream of. Sadly with this movie this is the last time we see this particular actor for Dumbledore as Richard Harris unfortunately passed away between the end of filming this movie and the beginning of the next. From movie 3 on we get a new Dumbledore...but that'll be a discussion for next movie. If you go back and rewatch the beginning of the movie, you can actually see the moment that Ginny was slipped the diary by Lucius Malfoy. It's a blink and you miss it moment, but when Lucius is confronting the Weasleys in the book store in Diagon Alley, he takes Ginny's books out of her cauldron to examine them before putting them back. During this interaction he sneaks the diary into her cauldron, planting it on her. No one ever noticed and when Ginny gets to school she finds this magical diary in her books and naturally being a young girl immediately latches onto it. Knowing the twist of who the diary belonged to and the reveal that Ginny had been confiding in it the entire school year before Harry got a hold of it, it is pretty amusing to think that the spirit of Tom Riddle's soul inside it was essentially having to deal with this depressed 11 year old girl dumping all her feelings onto it as it pretended to care to manipulate her. So fun fact, the dramatic reveal of Tom Marvolo Riddle's name being an anagram of "I Am Lord Voldemort" is actually maintained as much as possible in other languages. Riddle's name is changed depending on what letters are used to spell the Voldemort sentence in order to maintain that anagram. In Spanish for example, "Tom Sorvolo Ryddle" becomes "Soy Lord Voldemort," in German "Tom Vorlost Riddle" becomes "Ist Lord Voldemort" while in French "Tom Elvis Jedusor" becomes "Je Suis Voldemort." It's also become a joke in the fandom that Tom had gone through an entire list of possible anagram names before settling on what he wound up with and that alternatives were the likes of "Immortal Love Rodd", "Old Immortal Lover", "Lord Earldom Vomit" and my personal favorite "Dildo Lover Rat-Mom". Which given he himself was a teenager when he made the diary, all of these are just dumb enough for him to have come up with doodling in class one day. Obviously not serious names, but pretty funny that they all are proper anagrams of his chosen title anyways. Last part it was revealed that Draco's line of "I didn't know you could read" when talking to the disguised Harry was an improvised line after Draco's actor forgot his line. Same thing happened during the confrontation between Lucius and Harry in Dumbledore's office. After Lucius says the line "I hope Mr. Potter will always be around to save the day" Daniel Radcliffe was supposed to say silent but during one take he improvised the response of "Don't worry, I will be" while staring him down, staying in character the entire time. It was a moment that Jason Isaacs, Lucius' actor, still remembers fondly as when he found himself impressed with this child actor as a fellow actor. It's one thing to give a reading of your lines in character, it's another to start improving while in character in the heat of the moment. It was that moment that he realized Daniel had some real talent and a bright future as an actor growing up. Definitely looking forward to your book review, it's an interesting one with some great insights in how the Wizarding World works. It was established in the first one but now we're exploring some of the deeper things going on behind the scenes.
I noticed when I was editing that he really did dump the dairy in there. tbh I didn't know how many she had to begin with so it was easy to miss hint 🧐 omg the fandom had fun coming up with that list 😅 I'm glad Ginny was dumping all her preteen problems on him. how dare they try to manipulate her like that 😤 we almost lost her. That's awesome some of the most memorable lines were improvised. That was a PROMISE to Lucius. that made the next scene even better tbh. I will get the movie vs book video out as soon as I can 🙏🏽
i didnt know that about all the different anagrams! thats so cool. i dont think ive seen anyone else say this yet, but another favorite improv scene isaacs talked abt in an interview, is luscious kicking dobby down the stairs when jason isaacs just decided to kick the air in dumbledores office. columbus came up after and asked what was with the kick, or thinking he slipped, and isaacs just said that he was kicking him, then hitting him with his cane. columbus just said, "cool."
They talk about it more in the books, but Hagrid will never be treated fairly because he is half giant. Yet Hagrid never let's that discrimination make him bitter.
I know it's probably been explained before, and it is explained in the books but it helps some with the movies too.... Pure-bloods come from all magical families.... Half-blood, one magical parent, one muggle parent... Muggle-born (or mudblood for those with NO class)... non magical parents, BUT there's a chance there's a magical ancestor somewhere farther back down the line. Then there's people like Filch, who come from magical families but have NO magical powers at all. They're called Squibs. They're looked down upon even more than Muggle-borns by the Pure-bloods. I know I'm probably telling you what you already know but.... there it is anyway, just in case ;)
And yeah, since we lost Robbie Coltrane last year, the line "It's not Hogwarts without you Hagrid".... oh man, it gets ya right in the heart.... oh, I hope you're planning on reacting to Return to Hogwarts... the 20th anniversary reunion.... AFTER you see all the movies of course. Make sure you have plenty of tissues on hand though... it's an emotional roller coaster.
they mentioned it in the camber of secrets book what a squib is. I've been listening to the audiobook after the movie & have done a movie vs book video & I'm hoping to have time to do it for all of them 🤗 also I might mess up the differences between all of the terms bc my memory isn't the best lol but so far I've been keeping up with it.
Very good reaction! I love that you give us so much commentary, especially when comparing the movies to the books. My only recommendation would be to watch the movies with subtitles if you can. It makes it easier to catch things😊
i cant wait until read this book. But there ALOT details in the book itself but as i clarified before watch interactions of Hermione and Ron, look how each other are when others insult or do something to each other how the other reacts. Its a hint. Goes back to Him save her from Troll, her worried about Ron in the chess, also there is parts in book that is wrong especially about how he reacts in the forest that i hate that part. The whimpering yes hes afraid of spiders its his greatest fear. Above anything else. There is also a reason explained in the book "Why' hes afraid of spiders. I hope catch it. But when get to that part in the book make sure read really well on how he is in the forest yes hes afraid, but he is ... well brave. Other books / movies you get to find out about fears of each of them Harry is in the 3rd Hermione is in book 3 not movie. But again anytime you notice Ron and her Bickering or if any calls either anything keep a view on how each reacts tho there is a "Lie" in the movie of Azkaban when get to 3rd one in the movie that is a lie to the books. Otherwise watch and keep eye on how they act and you started to mention it when she hand shaked him tho i found out that she didnt want hugs to them she felt uncomfortable so they said at least hug harry due to her nervous and not wanting much touch but in book i dont think its much different. But again as read book keep eye on how Ron reacts to anything involve Hermione many dont understand for later on. There is hints everywhere like the Troll as you read and saw him save her. Same as here he got hit with slugs defending her from Malfoy ... you getting it by your comment... :) that is all id say hope read book soon.
I've been reading the book & enjoying it! soooo many details that can be missed in the movie or not there at all. very excited to start the third movie! thanks for watching with me 🙌🏽
@@Anti-HeroTV yep and your engagged with your people who subscribed that is rare. Are you seeing what i mean by chanc e with Ron and Hermione many who watch movies dont understand through the bickering the truth. It slowly adds. :) i hope catching that and always watch your Harry Potter ones i do hope do another on book to movie i really enjoy those. Many never do the books view they just ONLY watch the movie it also helps educate those who watch the books version which spreads the truth! :) also TBH i enjoy the book to movie ones you do the best. I hope take this as a compliment but i am a honest man your very beautiful :) just thought be honest with you . And really nice compared to most again most dont interact with their subscribers.
thank you so much!! I did realize Ron standing up for Hermione but I just thought he was protective of his friends. I will have to pay attention to those small hints. I plan on doing another movie vs book video since the book lovers enjoyed it 😊
@@Anti-HeroTV yea its really easy to miss the great about JK Rowling tho now adays she changes her visions ALOT. But even in the books their like i said both feel unattractive to each other. Ron feels hes poor his other members of family are better than him so hes like the Rut of the litter. HE feels basically a background importance especially as can tell i think in book 1 Mrs. Weasley does forget Rons likes and dislikes and tho the others get 2nd handed stuff sometimes most often Ron gets the most hand me downs like his wand, Robs i think all hand me downs. Sandwich he hates Corn beef Marroon, as Hermione feels if she isnt smart she wont fit in she has to earn her way to greatness or dont feel like she be any good otherwise i read that its is the key to Hermione kinda felt it but she feels if she isnt smart she isnt gonna go anywhere and she has to be the best. Otherwise her looks far s she concerned she isnt pretty tho books head ud hear defense on that which i agree. Shes not ugly even how she is discribed and again Ron feels same. Lanky freckled and poor both tho opposites of the smart tho ROn smart in Chess Hermione spells and riddles. But there is many scenerios of Ron and Hermione again they get "overshadowed" its why as watch movies tho again Azkaban movie there is a scene that i hate becausee the book shows Ron "GOOD" towards Hermione just like the Malfoy scene. Ron and Hermione far as i am aware are a strange characters that isnt meant to be seen early on same as others but piece their things together if catch it it makes the most sense so if not catch it through books or movies. At end ud be like wow i didnt know. But as read 2 watch Rons view on Hermione in any scene that is mentioned about her and "Rons" view of it. he took the slugs for a reason. Than think. Save her from a Troll. .. Piece by piece if follow anything that involves their strange character development is hints. No one too often catches these. But their obvivious even a Questionare to JK herself was asked .. and her reply was like .. well duhh xD of COURSE :) but from movie first and those that do read and miss the little how RON His emotions to anyone or so or any scenerio that goes against Her.. Watch his reaction or in book and by each book each movie youd get it. When i read it back in 2005 i think. Book 1 and up i slowly easily pieced it together but i hope focus o nthose her and him and EMOTIONS when involve them watch Rons face or how he "Reacts" to anything TOwards her in a bad way its his emotions :P but enjoy book i hope to see it soon i cant wait !
also could tell in the movie wen Ron was Crabe and Malfoy said he wishes it was Granger .. look how angry he was even more than Harry.. i forgot that one .
Voldemort is a half-blood not a muggle born, his dads a muggle and his moms a witch. In Harry Potter muggle norms are witches and wizards born of two muggle parents
they didn't clarify that his mom was a witch. they said he was an orphan & his dad was a muggle. I made assumptions off the information given. I know sometimes its hard to remember what info has been given but try not to spoil details not said yet. 💞🙏🏽
FYI: there is only audio in the left channel. The previous part was fine. After the movie when you did the wrap up, your voice only comes through the left side but the backgroung music comes through both sides.
If you think Tom’s views on blood supremacy are half baked here, just wait until you read HBP. From a comedic standpoint, this is the best film. Adding the adventure with the train and Draco’s public humiliation (even if does seem like the match is taking place in an impossibility sunny November day, given the school’s supposed location) were fantastic touches, but I do wish the Valentines Day extravaganza was included. More than just providing Exhibit H of Lockhart’s vanity (I can only imagine how much you’d love more of him on screen), it builds on a potentially overlooked moment in the Burrow, but most importantly, it tells Harry how to communicate with the diary. It’s a minor quibble, but without this scene, the cut between the trio hitting a dead end in the hospital wing and Harry actually communicating with Tom seems abrupt (at least to me). Considering Ginny is an insecure 11 year old girl, her figuring out the diary doesn’t need much explaining.
since they Tom's presence was non-existent in HBP I look forward to seeing more about him & Snape. I agree on this being the funniest movie so far. the Valentines Day & this is the one with the Death Day party too right? I'd have loved to see that.
As much as you laughed at Gilderoy being hit on the head with a rock you should watch some 3 Stooges movies or shorts. Full of slapstick comedy such as slapping, head butting, being hit with hammers, etc... All good fun.
Oh, one more comment.... tell me to shut up lol.... it took me until just a few months ago to really notice how Harry reacts when he realizes who the sword belonged to. You can actually see him tear up when it's confirmed that he is indeed a Gryffindor and not a Slytherin.
lol it's okay, I like seeing everyone excited about a show/movie bc I can relate to being passionate about my favorites 🥰 I didn't realize he was that torn up about it until the book 😕 I'm glad he got that validation from being chosen by a griffindor relic
its not your hearing aids.. this one & part 1 has some issues. it seems like it's people using earphones mostly. apologies but its no way for me to fix it.
That last scene with Hagrid really hits hard since Robbie Coltrane passed away. You were right Robbie. You may not be here any longer but Hagrid will always be here. ❤ Tom Riddle/Voldemort's mother was a pureblood witch descendent of Salizar Slytherin. His father was a rich muggle who lived in the same town. I won't say anymore because I don't want to spoil the books for you but it's never explained in the movies.
I appreciate the love & enthusiasm of this awesome franchise but that's still a big spoiler since it wasn't mentioned in the movie. I will be reading all of them after each movie.
@@toodlescae it may not be a huge spoiler in the movies since they dont always go into as much detail, but it is a pretty big book series spoiler not yet revealed in CoS
