Yeah, this is by far the best Harry Potter movie for me. And one of the best fantasy movies of all time. It's just so beautifully crafted.

This was probably my favorite one out of the series, both the movies and the books

This, in my opinion, is definitely one of the best films and one of the best books. I love how inventive it is.

I think this is perhaps the greatest movie in the series. the addition of incredible actors like Gary Oldman, David Thewlis, Timothy Spall & Emma Thompson just elevates any scene they are in; & whilst the character does move away more from the source material & Richard Harris Portrayal; Michael Gambon is a great replacement for Dumbledore. Although 1 thing i think all HP fans can agree on: the removal of the marauder’s map explanation does damage the movie slightly. Basically, the reason Lupin knows about the map is he, Sirius, James and Peter created the map after the 4 would sneak round Hogwarts in their animal forms (a werewolf, dog, stag & rat); discovering all its secrets.

Surprised you didn’t like it as much this is definitely one of my favorites cause there’s so much going on and it’s all tied back in together towards the end and you don’t suspect it until everything is revealed ❤️ plus just read the book and loved that too 👍🏻

Starts getting even darker and more serious going on; the setup for the rest of the movies is done.

I actually love this one with the Sirius Black issues and him being Harry's Godfather and being wrongfully accused for the Potter's murders. Wow, so sad. And happy for Harry in the end with him having a since of family.

The marauders map: it was written by the marauders who we Sirius black (padfoot because he can turn into a dog while an animagus) Remus lupin (moony as he is a werewolf) Peter pettigrew (wormtail as he can turn into a rat) and lastly James potter (prongs as he could turn into a stag). Patronus' take a form of an animal which most represents the person within, the patronus' also are the same as what ure animagus form would be. This is why Harry thought that it was his father who drove the dementors away. James, Sirius and Peter all became animagus' so they could go into the shrieking shack with Remus which was out in place when he first went to school to protect other students. The four of them all became best friends and by being animagus' made it easier for remus' transformation. James and Sirius were like brothers more than friends, hence why he was made Harry's godfather. We find our it later books but what we know so far is that James and lily had to be hidden as they knew that voldermort was after them. They made Sirius their secret keeper however Sirius knew that it was too obvious so asked pettigrew,which one of them knew were on voldermorts side Hope this helps and another great reaction :))

I get the feeling that people who really get into the first two when they're young, cute, and there's this atmosphere of wonder and youth can get thrown off with how dark they do get. My mother always says how she loves the movies when they're adorable kids, but she doesn't say much about the later movies. I also think this movie is where anybody not familiar with the books is going to get thrown off. The books provide so much context and character that really makes the stories better

The sequence of events was messed up and it was like an extended trailer. He got the broom in the middle of the year and won the Quidditch Cup on it. The only time he won it.

This personally is my favorite of the HP movies because of Sirius and Gary Oldman's portrayal of him, but I can see where you're coming from not liking it as much. My husband hates this one actually. I think a lot of us have nostalgia attached to it and watching the entire series made me appreciate it more. The series and journey as a whole is spectacular even if some of the movies individually may not be to everyone's taste, so hope you enjoy the rest of the films and I look forward to watching along! :)

Good news then; The rest of the books were a lot thicker and they had to cut a lot of material to manage to squeeze in as much relevant information they could. I'm sure you'll find the rest of the movies packed with going ons.

Gotta admit, I love the concept of a class that faces your greatest fear. Tricky, but so valuable. Of course the American education system would F it up horribly.

Dobby appears more in the books than the movies. Those who created the Map are Harry's father, Lupin, Sirius and Peter.

This is my fav of the series. Yes it gets darker from here so I don’t know how you’ll feel about it

If you noticed when they were doing the turn your fears into something funny class. The professor went in front and changed it to a full moon. It foreshadows what happens

The idea behind this movie, is knowing and meeting his real family. Harry gets to meet his godfather, confront the truth about how Voldemort got to know about the whereabouts of his family and was able to attack and murder them that fateful night. It was Peter Pettigrew who did this, as evil he turned out to be. We also got to meet Professor Lupin, who was another friend of the family. We got to know that Sirius was seriously considering Harry would move in with him, his Godfather wanted him. After this book and movie, Harry had family, had the opportunity to understand where his home was, know more about his parents, especially his father's childhood shenanigans with the other three. He was able to come out as a stronger wizard having practiced magic with Professor Lupin, who taught him well, supported him, looked out for him. Harry was also smart enough this movie to listen to both Sirius and Lupin in that tree house, and that revealed the real truth. Sirius was out and he was safe. Not in Azkaban anymore. That is why everyone loves this movie.

Welcome back gorgeous girl. The books are written for the kids the age of their class. So each is more intense as the kids get older. You learn in the book that the Marauders map was made by Harry's dad "prongs" Peter pettigrew "wormtail" Serious "padfoot" and Lupin "moony". You also learned that Serious escaped from Azkaban after seeing Peter in Ron's vacation photo in the paper. I didn't read them I listed to the audio books. You can do that while driving. I don't like the style of Lupin the werewolf. I think it's the legs. Movie was great in Imax. Not my favorite either but who am I. On to the next.

I didn't like it much when i first watch it 17 years ago but now it is one of my favorite.

The Prisoner of Azkaban is actually my wife's favorite of the series.

Starting with this movie a lot of us developed a crush and stared at Tom Felton in every movie moving forward. Draco is honestly a whole mood haha - "Its killed me its killed me." I remember reading Draco Malfoy and Hermione Granger fanfictions a lot lol.

Look yeah I agree all the lessons with Harry would just get cancelled 😭😂 and this part was a bit confusing as at first Sirius is seen as a bad guy and then suddenly Harry wants to save him? 😭

It is actually a very unpopular opinion so this is the one of the favourites of the fandom so it’s interesting so see someone not like it

I'm baffled how absolutely EVERYONE seems to love this one the most, when I think this and the next are the weakest (But of course they are still like 9/10 movies, absolutely brilliant!) The 5th and 6th are my favourites, and I think the 6th is usually people's LEAST favourite. XD

The name "Azkaban" was chosen to sort of remind us of Alcatraz. We all saw the Grim in Harry's tea cup. But where was the "wonky cross" and the "sun" that Ron saw? And why didn't Ron see the big, obvious dog in the tea leaves?

This is a great movie. Probably this or Goblet are my favorite. BUT the story as a whole gets richer from here.

So many people have this one as the best one or their favorite. I have this one mid to the lower end of the films. It’s enjoyable but 4-5 of the other films are better

One of the few reactors who just hasn’t really been into these movies. Also doesn’t seem like you were always paying attention or maybe youre not reactive to things that are supposed to draw a reaction. But everything isn’t for everyone, glad you finished the series though, will deff keep watching

"I'm in love with dobby " Oh.... that great *starts to tear up* ...... I mean who doesn't like dobby you pick a.....Great favorite character...... j am not prepared to see her reaction to the part one of deathly hallows And Prisoner of Askban and Order of the Phoenix are my two personal favorites but order of the Phoenix is my all tike favorite out of the series even then book I just thought it was a really great one I loved how it was basically showing us the beginning of a war and they introduced my favorite character who was done so dirty in the movies than jn the books (Tonks) there was alot of characters that got played dirty like Dobby,Ginny,Tonks Dobby was in so much of the books and ginny was a whole baddie in the books and the movies she was just Harry obsessed like she tied his fricken shoes book gonny would tie his shoes together and watch him fall and walk off laughing and Tonks had so many more lines some lines that I wish they added was "You would to if your fool of a mother called your "Nymphdora "!" When tonks and Remus was escorting Harry Ron and Hermione "You say his name and I will hex you " she said something along the lines of that like that that the energy I'm talking about tonks And one of my personal favorite "I never was a precfic either....because I never knew how to behave myself"

I probably really got into the series from this point onwards in the franchise because the cast change of Albus Dumbledore played by Michael Gambon

We all saw the Grim in Harry's tea cup. But where was the "wonky cross" and the "sun" that Ron saw? And why didn't Ron see the big, obvious dog in the tea leaves? And no one at the Ministry ever seems to bring up the fact that Hagrid specifically instructs his students to never insult a hippogryph - "It may just be the last thing you ever do!" And the first thing Draco does is to insult the hippogryph. 20 points will be deducted from Slytherin House!

This one and the next 2 are my favorites out of all of them!

Today we are watching “the best one”

What really annoyed me about this movie was that many of Hermione’s lines were actually Ron’s in the book. When Hermione said to Sirius, “if you want Harry you’ll have to get past us first!” Ron was the one who actually said that despite having a broken leg. And I really didn’t like how Ron agreed with Snape when he called her “an insufferable know-it-all.” In the book Ron actually flat out yelled at Snape right in class because he was mad at how he treated Hermione. I will never understand why the filmmakers treated Ron so poorly in both this film and other films. It’s not until the last two films that he was finally given his great character 180 like he should have been from the beginning.

This was my FAVE one but mind you, the books are much better.....read the books I know you'll love them 😍

You say you want a hippogriff now. But have you ever had to feed and clean after a hippogriff? Well I can tell you it's no fun!! lol!

I don’t enjoy this movie as much as I love it’s book counterpart. It’s a good movie in my opinion but they made it too dark too soon. While not as light hearted as the first two the book isn’t full on dark yet so I don’t get the creepy ambience they gave the movie.

Unfortunately Dobby isn't in this movie or book but he's in book 4 and I believe the rest but I don't think he's in the 4th movie

I don't understand how happened that sirius ist in Askaban again After they had saved his live on the lake, cos how he could be free & on the lake when he sit in the next cut still in Askaban ? ?? That makes No sense,thats unlogik !
