Aragorn may have survived his "little tumble off the cliff," but Viggo Mortensen almost didn't. The current swept him into an eddy at the base of the rock that held him under for several minutes before he was able to free himself. Also, how would you like for a 1200-pound horse to lie down beside you? Viggo and "Brego" (his name was actually Uraeus) spent an extensive period of time bonding with each other: Viggo would sleep in the stable with the horse. Some of the early training attempts with a dummy went pretty much as you would expect. But they finally achieved what you see in the movie, and at the end of filming Viggo bought the horse.

When Peter Jackson started filming these movies he actually cast a younger actor as Aragorn but he proved difficult to work with and it wasn’t working out so he managed to convince the studio to let him recast at the last minute. Viggo Mortensen (at the time a relatively unknown actor) took the job with minimal preparation and by pure chance they ended up with an actor who is the closest thing to the real life Aragorn.

- actually deflects the thrown knife that would have accidentally killed him - almost drowns in the scene where he is half dead in the river - breaks his toes yet soldiers on - keeps his horse until the horse passes then writes an eulogy worthy of Tolkien - buys horses for the stunts who couldn't afford to keep them - starts every day inspired with a quote & inspires the rest of the crew - has a Lord of the Rings tattoo like all his fellow Fellowship friends

One of the things that happened with Viggo while filming the Helm's Deep sequence was one of the Orc swords whacked him in the mouth and his left front tooth snapped off at the root and fell on the ground. Mortsensen immediately snatched the tooth up and said "Get me some super glue! We've got to stick this back in and carry on." Instead he was rushed to receive emergency dental care. But what a trooper though. He really was as tough as his character.

It was like watching the work of great tree-roots in a hundred years, all packed into a few moments. ‘They pushed, pulled, tore, shook, and hammered; and clang-bang, crash-crack, in five minutes they had these huge gates just lying in ruin; and some were already beginning to eat into the walls, like rabbits in a sand-pit.”

The comedy of Legolas and Gimli on the walls of Helms Deep is potentially my favorite moment in this part of the trilogy in terms of wholesomeness. The "Shall I describe it to you...or would you like me to find you a box?" line works so perfectly primarily because of the little pause Gimli does after Legolas says that. Almost as if he's processing whether to be mad at that comment or not, before deciding, "nah that's funny." Hell even before that with the panning shot across the wall where it shows just the top of Gimli's helmet poking out above the wall and he says, "Bahh you could've picked a better spot," you can see Legolas crack the littlest of smiles and it's just priceless. Watching their friendship evolve as the series goes on is one of the most heartwarming things in this trilogy.

One thing that the movies mention very very briefly is the fact that Arwen can give up her immortality. She can decide to stay in Middle Earth and become a very long lived human, but still die, or she could leave and stay an elf. If she does die as a human she will not see her parents again. Elves and humans do not share an afterlife. Arwen's mother had left Middle Earth quite some time before this story started, so if Arwen stays Elrond will have to go to his wife and explain why she will never see her daughter again. Because yeah, the elves are leaving Middle Earth forever.

The Avari, as well as the Sindar under Thranduil (adjacent related ti king Elu Thingol of Dortiath. Thran lived there with his father Oropher: who was a close first cousin or nephew of Thingol.). That makes Legolas double royalty.
@iMoD190
@iMoD190 6 месяцев назад
also, the reason why Arwen has this choice is that she and her family are half-elves. their ancestors married with humans and so now they get to choose. her uncle, Elrond's brother Elros, chose long ago to live and die as a man and is actually a very distant ancestor of Aragorn.

Aragorn spared Grima for pragmatic, political & moral reasons. Morally: Killing someone is bad. Even when perceived as justified Tolkien didn't feel that taking a life was ever the honourable thing to do. Pragmatically: Grima might have knowledge about Saruman's plans. Maybe even some of Sauron's plans. Information that they could have extracted from him if he'd accepted the king's 'mercy'. Politically: You've not seen your king in months. Rumour has it he's gone mad and that Grima is the one running the kingdom now. Next time you see your king he's flinging Grima down the stairs unarmed, about to swing a sword through his head. Grima was even begging for mercy. That's not a good look for Theoden's first act as the King again after being silent for so long.

Yes, but: The movie did quite a disservice to the story by showing us that he just gets away. I understand that a prison and breakout scene would take too much time, but it still does not make any sense just letting him go and even let him take a horse!

First of all, your reactions so far have been absolute S-tier. You're catching details, appreciating emotional moments, invested in the characters, etc. Bravo, thumbs up! Second of all, to answer your question about the Elves leaving, yeah they're on their way out forever. Because their magical influence has been slowly diminishing for thousands of years, they've been gradually migrating to the Undying Lands across the sea (where Ents, Dwarves, Hobbits, and Men can never go), and by the time we get to the events in the movies, they're like 90% gone. The big players like Galadriel and Elrond are sticking around the longest out of some combination of nostalgic sentimentality, a sense of duty towards the other free peoples, and a "captain goes down with the ship" mentality. Oh, and once they go, they never come back, either, so after that last ship sails over the horizon they'll slowly fade into legend and myth.

I love what Elijah said about their characters at a comicon panel once: "I don't think one is more of a hero than the other, one picked up the slack where the other was failing and the other decided to go on this journey [to destroy the ring]." Just like Aragorn, Gimli, Gandalf etc, all characters play a very important role in the story and as a collective they are heroes. They can't do this task alone. Also Sam's speech always makes me cry too 😭 Looking forward to the next reaction!

In defense of Grima. He never actually wanted Rohan to be at war. He was hoping to rule Rohan as King himself, after removing Theoden & his heirs he wanted to marry Eowyn to become King, and be praised as a peacekeeper. He really thought that if he served Saruman, he could take over without a fight. He is cowardly & selfish, but his moral failings are very human, he only sees good & bad in terms of whether things are good or bad for him personally. When Saruman shows his army, Grima is genuinely afraid & regretful, because he knows that Saruman plans to destroy Rohan, and had no intention of actually letting the kingdom survive for him to rule it. Grima is a bad guy for sure, but it is Saruman that took advantage of that wickedness & made him do evil things, with promises he never intended on honoring.
@bitterzombie
@bitterzombie 7 месяцев назад
Also, his exile of Eomer was actually a very calculated. He didnt want him around when he was getting taking advantage of Theoden & getting rid of Theodred, but he knew that Eomer was a respected warrior & commander. He didnt want to alienate Eowyn or the rest of the soldiers by executing him. He wanted Eomer out of the way while he took power, but I think he planned on revoking his exile once he was in power. Eomer might never be loyal to him, but he knew that he would be loyal to Eowyn, & would return to defend Rohan if she summoned him. Eomer might never have recognized Grima as the rightful King, but he would have respected Eowyn as the Queen, which is basically the same thing at that point. I know most people dont give Grima this much thought, because he is a very transparently "grimy" character. But I always thought that in a certain light, he is actually a very TRAGIC character. All he wanted was Eowyn's love, & the respect of the kingdom, the problem was that he never earned these things, he tried to take shortcuts because he felt entitled to them. Which ultimately destroyed any chance he might have had to earn them legitimately. He was blinded by his ambitions & seduced by the promise of power, its easy to judge him harshly for this with a name like "Grima Wormtongue", but honestly, it is pretty typical behavior for a career politician, if you look at it objectively. He was tricked into ushering in fascism, & then shocked when the fascists didnt hand power back over to him. 🫤

“It's like in the great stories, Mr. Frodo. The ones that really mattered. Full of darkness and danger they were. And sometimes you didn't want to know the end. Because how could the end be happy? How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad had happened? But in the end, it’s only a passing thing, this shadow. Even darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines it will shine out the clearer. Those were the stories that stayed with you. That meant something, even if you were too small to understand why. But I think, Mr. Frodo, I do understand. I know now. Folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back, only they didn’t. They kept going, because they were holding on to something. That there is some good in this world, and it's worth fighting for.” ― J.R.R. Tolkien

The instrument you may be loving a lot isn’t a violin! It’s a Nordic instrument called the Hardanger fiddle! (Norwegian: hardingfele) is a traditional stringed instrument considered to be the national instrument of Norway. In modern designs, this type of fiddle is very similar to the violin, though with eight or nine strings (rather than four as on a standard violin) and thinner wood. The F-holes of the Hardanger fiddle are distinctive, oftentimes with a more “sunken” appearance, and generally straighter edges (unlike the frilly, swirly F-holes of a violin). Four of the strings are strung and played like a violin, while the rest, named understrings or sympathetic strings, resonate under the influence of the other four. These extra strings are tuned and secured with extra pegs at the top of the scroll, effectively doubling the length of a Hardingfele scroll when compared to a violin. The sympathetic strings, once fastened to their pegs, are funneled through a “hollow” constructed fingerboard, which is built differently than a violin’s, being slightly higher and thicker to allow for these extra strings. The resonant strings lay on the center of the special bridge, attached to extra hooks (or fine-tuners) on the tailpiece. Carved out within the center of the bridge is a smaller secondary “bridge”, or opening, designed specifically for these resonant strings to pass through. This is where the resonance is picked up & reverberated; as notes are played, the vibrations are sent through the bridge, where the sympathetics echo those notes. • The Hardingfele’s bridge is unique compared to other bowed instruments. It is somewhat taller and wider, resulting in the strings being slightly lower and farther apart; this allows for the easy execution of double-stops (playing of two strings at once). A similar technique is seen in some American old-time and bluegrass fiddlers, who intentionally move their bridge back a few millimetres closer to the tailpiece, for better double-stops. The hardingfele is used mainly in the southwest part of Norway, whereas the ordinary violin (called flatfele, 'flat fiddle', or vanlig fele, 'common fiddle') is found elsewhere. The hardingfele is used for dancing, accompanied by rhythmic loud foot stomping. It was also traditional for the fiddler to lead the bridal procession to the church. The instrument is often highly decorated, with a carved animal (usually a dragon or the Lion of Norway) or a carved woman's head as part of the scroll at the top of the pegbox, extensive mother of pearl inlay on the tailpiece and fingerboard, and black ink decorations called 'rosing' on the body of the instrument. Sometimes pieces of bone are used to decorate the pegs and the edges of the instrument. The earliest known example of the hardingfele is from 1651, made by Ole Jonsen Jaastad in Hardanger, Norway. Originally, the instrument had a rounder, narrower body. Around the year 1850, the modern layout with a body much like the violin became the norm. considered to be the national instrument of Norway. In modern designs, this type of fiddle is very similar to the violin, though with eight or nine strings (rather than four as on a standard violin) and thinner wood. Proud Norwegian here. This makes me so happy to have such an ancient and magical instrument immortalized in these movies. ❤ many covers of songs are done in with these such instruments too which is also pretty awesome.

Growing up watching old action/adventure movies, I often liked the loyal supporting characters (like Sam) more that the heroes. Their support was frequently the main thing that made it possible for the heroes to have their pivotal heroic moment, and they often sacrificed their lives acting as human plot armor for the heroes.

The time it took to shoot the Battle of Helm's Deep was as long as the shooting schedule of most feature films...all at night, in 'rain'. It was absolutely brutal, especially for those in 5 kg of spongy prosthetic make-up, and 30-40 kg of armor and weapons. Peter Jackson had special "I Survived The Battle Of Helm's Deep" t-shirts made for all the cast and crew involved. I can't help but wonder if there weren't a few that went uncollected.

Aragorns ring(there is a few shots during the movie where we get a good look on it being worn but also that book has the drawing & history of that ring Saruman spoke about after Grima brought it up to him(Saruman) once belonged to Galadriel’s dearest elder brother Finrod, Named Felagund by the dwarves he befriended, they gifted him one of their fortresses of Nargothrond and he even built it with them). He was the most famous Elf in the Legendarium aside from his uncle Fingolfin! It ended up being given to Barahir’s ancestors whob saved the life of Finrod during one of many great wars, & Barahir is closest relative to Aragorn through the line of Arathorn! And they connect directly to the house of Bëor. Which all three houses of the Edain were found & befriended by Finrod. First to discover Men before anyone else !! Not even the Valar save Melkor long LONG ago. They’ve been aware of him for a very long time & have been fighting him almost as long as the elves did but with no help during those darker times before the sun and moon were even born into the world after melkor and Ungoliant killed the two trees of silver and gold in Valinor. By the time the Gondorians lost Eärnur the Anorian line of Elendil got their cheeks clapped so hard they were reduced to a lesser tribe who had lost a shit ton of status and a lot of symbols of their power like the Ring of Barahir or Narsil. The Gondorian Stewards, especially those like Denethor, looked down on their northern brethren as pretenders and foreigners. Aragorn not only had served in Gondor's army for a time but was chosen to carry on many of the ancient symbols of the line of Elendil like Barahir and reforging Narsil into Andúril. Throw in a fancy banner made by his elf GF and he had the symbols and treasures of a king. Denethor lighting himself on fire also contributed along with Faramir willingly surrendering his authority to Aragorn helped. An heirloom of the Ñoldor/ Vanyar(Galadriel and Finrod’s kin) But as I said, it's got SO much value. Makes me want to say something similar to what Gandalf said about the mithril vest that was more valuable than the shire itself. Hahaa And so ofc Aragorn for many reasons knows the history of that very ring he wears. I believe as it belonged to Galadriel’s brother, either she gave it to him or it made it down the line directly from Aragorn’s mighty ancestry. (Meant to add this earlier):There was a rescue between a Barahir and Finrod and that’s what lead to this ring being given to Barahir. And now AGES later now is on Aragorn’s finger. ❤ quite the magical ring too as everything elves create have essence of themselves poured into them where the same thing cannot ever be made twice.

Faramir, Denathor and Helms Deep were altered heavily for the movies. Denathor had absolutely no idea the One Ring had been found, Boromir was sent to Rivendell for an entirely different reason. Faramir like Aragorn has the strength of his Numenorian ancestors, he is more scholarly and would never have taken the Ring to Gondor or taken it for himself. He wasn't even tempted by it, he simply let him go in the book once he learned of their quest. Peter changed it to show the corrupting power of the ring. Helms Deep only had men of Rohan defending it, the Elves couldn't help even if they wanted to. It's not shown in the movies but during the Battle of Helms Deep the Elves of Mirkwood and Lorian along with the Dwarves of Erebor (Gimli's kin) were busy preparing to defend their own lands. It's mentioned in the Appendicies of the book ROTK but is skipped over by many people who read the books. And instead of Rohirim, Gandalf gathered an army of infantry, not cavalry. In reality if those horses charged down a hill that steep they would break their legs and fall on their riders. And since the Elves were added by Peter Jackson into the battle, you can be happy that Haldir was not killed in Middle Earth. He lived on past the War of the Ring and likely sailed for the Undying Lands with the rest of the Elves.

"In the book": The Ents do take forever to decide to act, and have been debating taking action since before the Hobbits even arrived. As usual though, minor characters are not allowed their own agency, and it has to be a main character who tricks Treebeard into joining the war, making him look like a very poor "shepherd of the trees" if he hasn't _noticed_ that Saruman has cut down half his forest.

One argument I would make in favor of The Hobbit trilogy, you get three more full movies of Ian McKellen playing Gandalf the Gray. He said in an interview once that that was his favorite version of the character to play because in that form, Gandalf is more grounded to Middle Earth and to his friends. As opposed to after he's sent back as Gandalf the White. The version of Gandalf laughing and smoking and setting off fireworks was Ian's favorite. Both are awesome in their own right, obviously.

Let me share about Elrond & his daughter Arwen (& Aragorn by extension) therefore we must look at Elrond’s Twin Brother Elros, they both were half-elven brothers who can choose to be mortal or immortal because of their parents(Eärendil and Elwing) both half elven made a great sacrifice and went to Valinor to ask for help against Morgoth(who was making everything worse than a living hellscape for 100s of generations) which lead to the greatest events in the early first and second age. Instead of being punished, the valar listened to them, that led to a great hosts of Valar and Maiar And Vanyar Elves went to Middle Earth that laid waste to Beleriand. After the War Of Wrath, the valar rewarded them for their sacrifices. They can choose to be elf or men, including their children. They chose immortally, but never return to Middle Earth because they thought that their twin sons had died. But they didnt die. Elrond chose to be immortal while his twin brother Elros chose to be mortal. He founded the Kingdom of Numenor. He lived in Numenor Island and blessed with a long life that include his descendants Those men who fought for the war were rewarded a long life but not their families or children. Only the family of Elrond can choose to be immortal or mortal in which Arwen did. Aragorn is the direct descendant of Elros, thats why he has a long life. The average lifespan of a Numenorean at their height was 500 years maximum! Now remember too that half elves are a common thing and whenever they did come together it was always significant !❤❤❤ Remember this is the SHORT version, there are so many moving parts that will make you want to dive into the books or the audio books or even do reaction videos to the famous lore videos by the biggest lore channels out there! When you’re done the trilogy try doing reaction videos just like Moviejoob did now with the lore recently as well as OmarioRPG. I recommend videos by GirlNextGondor and The Red Book, and Tolkien Untangled and especially Men Of The West. Many other cool ones I’ll recommend in the comments section of those reaction videos you do from Tolkiens Legendarium lore videos. They are super engaging. You’ll be in love. Nothing would have existed if Tolkiens works never hit the light of day as they were meant to stay private and sometimes be shared with his children and so on. No Game Of Thrones. No Skyrim. No ElderScrolls, No World Of Warcraft, no Dungeons&Dragons. None of it. Not even Star Wars. Not even Harry Potter! They took inspiration from his works which were souly to give back a forgotten history of the Anglo Saxons that had their culture & history destroyed as the larger empires were riding around them. His works reflect the Elder Edda(Norse) The Kalevala(Finnish) and the Welsh people from Wales as well as Irelands cultures of the Tuatha De Danaan as well! His languages are fully fleshed out too resembling Finnish & Welsh • By the way Elrond is around 6870-8000 years old & nearly a full Elf year (as they age very very differently to Men) is close to 144 man years(solar years for them). but if you want a more true age you must realize that he may be 8000 but in human years after the sun and moon were created from the flower from of the two trees of Valinor as well as one fruit from the other of the two trees; they experience the TIME and the way men experience it but their clock is different! They live as long as the world/Arda/Ëa does. Essentially. Which is why they are so in synch with the world around them and the nature responds to them ! Think of when Legolas walked ontop of all that snow on the Mountain of Caradhras!! They continue to endure as long ad the world itself does. (Arda) and speaking of age, Legolas is also 3000+years old by the time he becomes a member of The Fellowship Of The Ring! If you look back on the original trilogy movies: The fellowship had a 3000year old Elven PRINCE in their party. And a clandestine angelic being who was Gandalf originally known Olòrin to those such as Galadriel who knew him when she lived in Valinor, Elrond also knew would be one of the only others who’d know this save Círdan The Shipwright(Oldest Elf in the world but even he was a few generations down from the original elvish peoples to awake to the stars) & kin to Thingol who also is a semi distant cousin to Legolas as Legolas’ grandfather was the close cousin to Thingol(same with Galadriel’s Husband Celeborn through his father, their capital within Lothlòrien was named after his father(Caras Galadhon) Galadhon being the name indicating that which belongs to the father. And a 87 year old Númenorean man named Aragorn!, a 335 year old Dwarven Prince named Gimli. And as a microcosm they resembled the coalition of all the races of middle earth uniting under one banner which is another reason it sort of metaphysically set into motion the world uniting at the macrocosm ! Galadriel's Phial (gift to Frodo) is something really special. light & dark have a spiritual dimension in Tolkien. way back before the First Age Valinor was lit by two very special Trees that waxed & waned in opposition to each other. a master craftsman Elf named Fëanor fashioned three gems that captured their light, the Silmarils. (And it’s same power and light was drawn into it from the very firmament where it now stands amongst the stars as Eärendil himself (Elrond’s father stands watch over The Doors Of Night where Melkor still is held until fate holds him no longer.) Everyone who saw them was captivated by them, even the Melkor(Morgoth); the first Dark Lord. Wars were fought over them called the Kinstrife after Morgoth had the Trees destroyed the Silmarils were the only light from them left and he stole them as you may remember, they changed hands a few times & eventually one was left after one fell into the sea & another was lost in a pit of magma. A Half Elf named Eärendil (the first one! Who was Elrond’s father.) came into its possession & sailed it to Valinor as a gift to the Valar to ask for their help in defeating Morgoth, which they did. the Valar turned it into a star & hung it in the sky with Eärendil as its guardian. the fountain of Galadriel's Mirror is lit by light captured from the star Eärendil & her Phial has water from the fount. I've left out about 90% of the story but it's quite important & central to the story of Middle Earth. for her to give the Phial to Frodo is quite extraordinary. its light does burn & blind Shelob (that's the spider's name) but doesn't kill her outright. oh also, before he was put in the sky to guard the last Silmaril Earendil had two children, Elrond & his brother Elros the first King of Numenor. Tolkien's lore is deep & vast & the Silmarils are at the center of it. The Star of Eärendil is the light that shines in the horizon both in the morning and the evening. It consists in a boat raised by the Valar and led by Eärendil, who carries a shining Silmaril while watching the Doors of Night. The Door of Night was a portal in the distant Uttermost West that leads to heaven, and/or the Void. Eärendil's ship Vingilot was taken by the Valar from the rim of the world, passed through the Door and was lifted into the "oceans of heaven". PS: Eärendil is ELROND’s half Vanyar Elf half human father, that father was the son of the great Tuor of the great stories of The Children Of Húrin book!❤❤❤❤ Aragorn is a CLOSE descendant of a direct bloodline to Elros(Elrond’s Twin Brother) The title of half elven (Peredhel) was due to the combined history of Beren&Lúthien, his mother Elwing was the granddaughter of Lùthien! Eärendil was the husband of Elwing. The true half elf; son of the best elvish women ever who rescued hundreds from the highest of elvish kingdoms(Gondolin); her name is Idril & one of the best most powerful men around named Tuor. Who later on when they went to Valinor together through their own way lead to him choosing to be counted as One Of The Eldar for Idril. Eärendil did the same for Elwing. ❤

So, in a further departure from the books, when the Helm's Deep scene was filmed, Arwen actually accompanied Haldir and the other elves to help Aragon, Legolas, and Gimli (in the books, the Elves just weren't present at Helm's Deep). They filmed scenes with her present, fighting during the battle, but the decision was made to alter those scenes so she's not present. There are a few shots that included her still in the finished movie, but they were edited to remove her from the final footage. One of those is the moment when Legolas is pulling Aragorn and Gimli up the walls of the keep with a rope: Legolas looks back over his shoulder for a second. Arwen was originally stood behind Legolas, helping him pull Aragorn and Gimli up, and Legolas was looking back at her.

Love the outfit and glad you enjoyed the movie. Tolkien was war veteran, and this writing embodies what soldiers go through they see the worse of humanity in war, but also the best of what solider/friends can do to maintain hope and humanity too in such dark times of war. As veteran myself, this movie hits a lot harder seeing war firsthand. "Frodo wouldn't have gotten far without Sam." That line alone hits home and it is true...as much as Frodo is hero...Sam is just as much the hero to and can't wait until you see the end :)

The movie did an ok job, but the books are better at the "trees" story. In the forest there are 3 types of "tree" type one obviously is a normal tree, nothing special. Type 2 are the Ents. These are also decently explained. However there were also the ... was if Hurons? They are... either trees that came alive like Ents, or Ents that became dormant and tree like. They lack the "humanity" of the Ents. And they "hate" orcs, the Ents keep them in check most of the time, but when the Ents "went to war" a few herded the Hurons to Helm's Deep in the night. When the Orcs/Uriki were facing the Army of the King, and the Army Gandalf brough... they saw a forest appeared... and they thought fleeing into it was the safest path, even though they feared the magical appearance of the "great forest" overnight... the orcs that entered were never seen again.

This is the 1st comment I‘ve seen explaining this. Now, admittedly I haven‘t read every comment on every reaction channel for LotR, but I‘ve read a few & I was glad to see this. My favorite behind-the-scenes story has to do with the Hurons. When Tolkien was a boy he saw a production of Shakespeare’s MacBeth and in it, 3 witches prophesy that he will become king & that he won’t have to worry about being attacked until Birnam Wood comes to Dunsinane Hill (where the king’s castle is). In the play, the soldiers just tie twigs & branches to their helmets/armor & use them as camouflage when approaching said castle. Tolkien was so disappointed that the forest didn’t actually go to war, that when he had the chance to write his own battle scene, he made the trees really move & kill all the orcs fleeing from Helms Deep! Isn’t that a great story. I love it, lol. Now you may know the play better than I do, being English, but I thought I’d tell the bare bones of it, just in case!

Hi Heres a coulpe interesting things about "The two towers" 1. Before the Helm s deep battle et Aragon and Legolas dialogue when Aragon said "" Then i shall die as one of them" was so great. They were first talking in elvish to ensure the others wouldn't understand what was being said, but Aragorn speaking english symbolizes Aragorn's loyalty to the defenders 2. The horse that rescue Aragon after he falls into the water is the horse ....Viggo/Aragon liked that horse so much, he bought him after the movie ended 3. Remember the Rohan Flag that flies off when was not part script when they arrive at the king? Well, It was extremely windy that day, and they thought it symbolic enough to keep in. So they added later the shot of Aragorn looking at the flag on the ground. 4. When Faramir took Frodo and Sam to Osgiliath, Sam says, "By rights, we shouldn't even be here." This is a reference to the fact that they never went to Osgiliath in the books 5. At the end of the movie Faramir was mean to gollum because he was taking them through Kirith Ungol, which is said to be a dangerous path. In a land of constant fighting 6. All the wizards are kinda like fairies sent from the god of this world ( Sent by Valar ) and all have different task. When Gandalf comes back as the White rider, he is, in a sense, Saruman. He has become what Saruman should've been, because Saruman was the leader of the Maiar before being corrupted. "The White" was the title of the leader of the Five Wizards, the most powerful of their order, that s why gandalf turned from grey to white! To replace saruman since he wasn’t doing his job. 7. When Sam says about Smeagol that "There's no hope for him", Frodo reacted that way because it would mean that it will eventually be no hope for him. 8.About the scene when Eowyn realise Aragon is descendent from the Numenoreans. Well, Numenoreans is a race of men who fought in the first Age alongside the elves against Evil and they were granted an island in the middle of the ocean and long live (as a present for their help against evil). They prospered in the second age until corruption reached most of them, and the Island was destroyed. The survivors (who were the uncorrupted ones) of that race founded Gondor and Arnor (which was later dismantle) and the Numenoreans mix with local men but some still remained of pure lineage like Aragorn who is descendant from the Royal line. Then we get to the third age where this events told in the movies take place, so Aragorn is a human man, but he's descended from Elrond's brother who chose to be mortal and his family kept some of the Elvish blood so he is longer-lived than most normal humans and ages slowly in comparison. 9. The actor who plays Gimli (John Rhys-Davies) also does the voice for Tree Beard/ The Ent 10. When the old man accidentally lets his arrow go at the beginning of the battle, Aragorn yells out "Haldo!" in elvish, not "Hold! (like most of reactors belived)", because he believed only an elf could have made that shot. 11. About the fact that Gollum says "we" about himself, well, Gollum lived so long with "two person" in him: Smeagol - the original person and Gollum - the creature that was born from having the ring. You can tell who is in control, Smeagol or Gollum by the dilation of his pupils. Big pupils for Smeagol and small pupils for Gollum. 12.When Gollum saved Frodo in the Dead Marshes with all those corpses in the water, that was the place from the scene of the huge battle you saw take place at the beginning of the first movie the War of the Last Alliance, and that war actually lasts for a number of years. The Battle of the Dagorlad (which eventually becomes the Dead Marshes) takes place about 4 or 5 years before the ring is cut from Sauron's hand. 13. Now one last fun fact, Arwen played by Liv Tyler, in real life her father is Steven Tyler lead singer of Aerosmith.

Legolas & Aragorn really are like brothers. The movies dont make it clear, but Aragorn is basically the adopted son of Elrond, & a prince of men, while Legolas is the son of Thuranduil, & a prince of the elves. Add the fact that Aragorn is 87, & its very likely that he grew up knowing Legolas quite well, the two of them would be like honorary cousins. That's part of why Legolas is so ride or die for Aragorn, although they never clearly state it. They are like family, its also quite possible that Legolas helped to train Aragorn in combat. Not only are they both princes, but they are both some of the most skilled & practiced warriors in middle earth.

Just recently discovered your channel. Also just subscribed. I'm loving your reactions! I'm 73 years old, and read the books in the early 70's (hippie era), and I saw each film (theatrical cut), as they came out, and later bought the extended DVDs. I converted my wife. LOL!! So refreshing to see today's young people rediscovering and appreciating this magical world!! It's extremely doubtful that another film of this character will be made in the near future. Love your cosplay as well! May you and your channel "Live long and prosper!"

😔😢😭😭😭 The Lord of the Rings is one of the best film series I've ever seen. I'm absolutely addicted to it. I swear to you that I'm one of the biggest fans of the film and the director Peter Jackson. My dream was to act in any new film similar to LOTR, even though this dream is impossible. Honestly, I'm sad that Peter Jackson couldn't direct The Rings of Power series. I also wish they would make a new film, even if they wrote a new story, not necessarily JRR Tolkien's story. They can write a similar story, the important thing is that we want them to present such wonderful and epic works. I also want the same actors. Unfortunately, I swear to you that I have watched the film more than 300 times. I watched it since 2006 and to this day I still watch it, even The Hobbit. Also, did you know that I was so addicted to the movie that I wanted to shoot a short film similar to it? I tried, but I failed because a movie like that requires a lot of money and a lot of actors. I am a musician and I also have 3 people working on 3D Modeling and VFX. We are a small team, but unfortunately we don't have a camera and a lot of things. I mean, this movie changed a lot inside me. How much I love this movie and I also have memories with it. Before my father passed away, we used to watch the LOTR movie and we watched 3 perfect parts and my father used to say to me (Do you want to act in this movie? I will talk to Peter Jackson so that you can be part of his team) He was joking with me because I was just little to make me happy. The bottom line is (this movie is great and legendary)

You are an absolute Gem... Love how invested you are in the films. Don't worry about crying because all of us have been there already, and it's pretty much expected if you're as deeply involved as you are. Thank you again for your heartfelt reaction...
