You'll be learning about Sarah Parnell soon in upcoming episodes. And yes, Nomi's mother is awful (and we'll all known people like that..chilling). Great reaction.
It's great to see anyone doing a reaction to this series, I'm surprised how rare it is. But it's especially great to watch someone with a high IQ do it -- thanks Ande for putting this out there. The Wachowski's built a central theme of connectedness into much of their work. It was the central technology and plot point of The Matrix, the solidarity of the masses in V for Vendetta, and they tried it again more obviously in Cloud Atlas, but it was just too complex a theme to weave into one three-hour film. They finally hit the home run with this show. The Wachowski's of course because their own lived experience tried a lot to bring non-cis themes into their story-telling as well (Switch in The Matrix was written as a trans woman -- she was to be played as a man in the real world, and by Belinda McClory only when the character was in the Matrix -- Warner Brothers nixed it. That's why her character wore white, so when the story went back and forth the audience would know it was the same person). But they finally got to really explore these stories in this series as well. I hope you end up liking it as much as I did.

This series fascinated me from the start and made me uncomfortable in so many ways so many times. I learned so much, although it just scratched the surfaces. Unfortunately the end was kind of disappointing. I suspect they had a much bigger end in mind and wound up having to crush it down to just two seasons. Kind of like the ending of Game of Thrones, in my opinion. But I loved every single one of the eight connected characters.
