OHHHH! A part of me thought he joined so he could sort of spy on them that way he could create his own bracelet. But you’re completely right, him joining for the purpose to destroy it lines up with his character perfectly.
He was also there to look out for his drummer (Gwen) since he doesn't think she belongs there. Fyi, in the comics, there was a Gwen in Hobie's universe who was a revolutionist & muscian that led a revolt against the government but was killed. That Gwen was his idol. I think that's why Hobie gave SpiderGwen that watch at the end, so she could start her own revolution against Miguel.
Across the Spider Verse is imo the best Spider-Man movie ever made followed closely by Into the Spider-Verse. Spider-Man 2 and Spider-Man No Way Home can fight for the 3rd spot. If Beyond the Spider Verse is as good as the other 2 then there's no doubt in my mind the Spider Verse franchise is the best super hero trilogy ever and *one of* the best trilogies overall. These movies are that good!
I haven’t gotten the chance to watch Tom Holland’s Spider-Man yet so I don’t have a complete perspective to compare. However, Spider-Man 2 is still my personal fave, but I for sure see the beauty in Across The Spider-verse. The animation itself is a character on its own and the plot twists towards the end of the movie, especially Miles being an anomaly shoots this movie 📈
just letting you know , Across The Spider-Verse IS the part 2 , part 1 is called Spider Man : Into the Spider Verse. Part 3 is called Beyond the Spider-Verse , and that’s why there was a “to be continued”. The movie doesn’t have a release date yet due to the workers strike.
Freeze frame 12:28, Earth 42 Miles is about to be bit and gets pulled by the Collider. For the comics, Miles was associated with number 42 because it was the Jersey number of Jack Robinson (first African American to play Major League Baseball). All main characters and lot of the background characters are comic book spider-people (including the orignal Spider-Woman Jessica Drew and Mayday Parker) Though some like Spider-Rex are original. The first movie's post credit scene has Miguel making an autonomous Multiverse jump and starting the taskforce. The tree of life symbolism you mentioned while accurate is MCU's Sacred Timeline. There are a lot of nods to MCU in this too, including the plot point about Canon disruption destroying the Universe.
Thanks for letting me know! The 42 popping up everywhere made me feel like it symbolized something outside of the story itself, like maybe a special spider-man issue. Though the reveal of Earth 42 made me think differently, but reading that there was a historical nod in there gave the number even deeper meaning. what a great reaction! alot of people took the cliffhanger ending negatively (including me! I was like NO WAY for like a minute then just appreciate what I just watched for what it is, perfect ending) but your pure joy and appreciation for the next part is great! the anticipation and excitement for an upcoming film is such a pure cinematic emotion that is so missed these days and i’m so happy this movie ignited that for us! 🙏
absolutely! i honestly thought the movie was going to end in the typical superhero fashion. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the movie didn’t try wrap up such big plot points. If anything, not attempting to increases the weight of Miles’ conflicts.
A fun facts about this movie.. The Lego parts was done by a 14 year old boy who Sony hired! Kid made his money😂 Pavitr is played the dude was Dopinder from Deadpool films And Spider-Punk is play by the guy who was in Get Out and Black Panther Spider-Byte is played by the same little girl who played Rue in Hunger Games The chase scene with Miles and all the spiders took the animators 4 years to do!
A 14 year old ⁉️ 4 years ⁉️ Those facts blow my mind, but I will say the four years fact is one hundred percent believable given how detailed this movie was.
I highly recommend watching the Spectacular Spider-Man show its a really good show and sadly was canceled with only two seasons to its name, but the frame in 29:49 behind Miles to the left is the Spectacular Spider-Man he is also right next to Hobie.

My issue with this amazing movie is that ALL the Spider-entities being willing to follow a total hypocrite made the final act look like a carbon copy of the Doctor Strange 2 Illuminate scene. Imagine if the Spider-people actually teamed up to fight the real enemy and all his HOLES... And I wasn't a fan of the cliffhanger when I saw it in theaters. But I get it...
