FYI plenty of ppl try to harm celebs all the time. Christina Grimmie from The Voice was shot dead at a meet & greet by an obssesed fan. The guy believed she was a god & his soulmate. He even did surgery & teeth whitening & other stuff to look better. His plan was to become a successful streamer & meet her through there (she did also covers songs on youtube). But he failed so he went the "if i can't have her, no one can" route. From stalkers who have delusions to ppl with anger management issues disagreeing with a thing said in a random interview. Plenty of ppl send death threats, booby trapped packages & try to assault, kidnap or end celeb lives all the time.

Its crazy this movie can be so tragic but such a feel good film. Nothing feels better to a man than seeing really bad guys get what they deserve, especially by a really pissed off parent.

Liam Neeson said that until this movie, which turned out to be so popular, he didn't even consider the idea that he could be an action movie hero. Now it's his thing. I still love his older stuff, too. I'm a big fan of his lead role in Michael Collins, which he did right after Rob Roy and Nell, both also great movies.

I think the point of this is not that fathers should be overprotective, it's in teaching daughters (and sons) how to protect themselves and about the necessary dangers. You could see she was apprehensive about how much information the friend was giving out so she was somewhat aware but if he had told her his experience she would have known more signs to look out for.

To answer your question to why anyone would stab a famous singer, which has actually happened many times, they do it for the fame. There are sick psychotic people out there who think if they kill a famous celebrity they (the killer) will be remembered forever. It’s a scary and sick notion to think on. Other reasons is again done by sick individuals, maybe rival celebrities hiring hit-men to take out the competition or make some kind of messed-up political statement. Point is there are reasons why people would commit these acts.

They basically get to establish the human traffickers and a few scenes from their job, and at that point they need zero character development for every agonizing death to be cathartic. IIRC, this was done by a French writer or director and was about shedding light on human trafficking.

I love this movie! When we saw it with my father many years ago, he told me that he would be like the protagonist for me, he has been a security guard all his life and knows many things, so he felt identified, what beautiful memories, we enjoyed it a lot ♥

I'm 21, and movie didn't scar me as a woman, but it made me aware. My dad is just like Liam Neeson's character with a similar mentality and background and prepares me to handle me in many situations. We workout together and train to handle any situation together. He does worry when I go off without him to somewhere far, but he raised me to handle myself...I love him and I wouldn't trade this for anything else. My mom thinks he is paranoid just like the mom in the movie, but being prepared doesn't make you paranoid. I grew up watching this movie with my dad and we still watch it together ❤.

I have always seen this as more than just an action film. I just love the father dynamic and the lessons on the need to be street smart. I was also just entering my teens so my mom and dad used it to teach me to be cautious around strangers and not think with your hormones all the time. Granted I’m not a girl so I dont know at all what dangers they face but like Bryan says, it’s important to be aware. PS: If this was a horror film, which it is, Amanda is the girl who has sex and gets punished for it haha

Great reaction! The beginning of this movie and the pop star being almost killed backstage reminded me of The Bodyguard with Kevin Cosner and Whitney Houston. One of the best soundtracks of all time. You should react to that movie. Suspense, great 90s fashion. Lol

Definitely watch the second and third! They're all enjoyable. As for the attack in the beginning, ask any female celebrity and most if not all have had issues with creepy fans, stalkers, etc. Many have gotten attacked or killed. Bodyguards are a thing for a reason lol. Especially vocalists for some reason. Maybe more of a parasocial issue.

It's not just about a single girl. Fear is what matters to these gangs. If someone can just waltz in, kill their members or customers, take away a girl... well why would anyone be afraid of these guys?

This type of stuff is only a blip of what takes place on this planet. Most people have no clue about any of it and are off in their personal world of ignorance. I know of a number of things that live in the darkness, and most people couldn't handle it. They would puke just hearing about some of the things, hell they would take themselves out after learning some harsh truths of what humans get up to.

This didn’t scar me as a woman, I wasn’t a fan of long flights and being away from home for more than a few days long before this movie came out lol. It was my favorite movie for a while though. I don’t really remember the sequels so I take it I wasn’t as blown away with them like I was for this one.

when you’re known by millions of people, a significant amount of them will be stalkers and mentally ill.. even a small percentage. it’s a numbers game when there are so many people around you at all times. so, yes, the singer being attacked is a pretty probable scenario.
