Such a great trilogy. There are a lot of running jokes through all three movies. Which one is your favorite probably depends on what your favorite movie genre is. Hot Fuzz is my favorite. You should check out Spaced at some point.

When Ed yells "We're coming to get you, Barbara!" into the phone, they're referencing the most famous line from the original Night of the Living Dead (which is in the public domain and free to watch on RU-vid! Don't watch the colorized version, it ruins it, watch the original black and white, it's creepier and more atmospheric!)

The World's End is my personal favorite of the trilogy. Hot Fuzz is the easy fan favorite, and for good reason (and the greater good). Shaun of the Dead is the classic by now, especially because it is a bonafide zombie film regardless of the comedy.

OK this is my favorite zombie movie because I hate zombie movies and they don't scare me but seeing this a long time ago I was expecting some typical end of the world zombie apocalypse shit but omg this is really funny

I love this movie. It's very "British" humour (yes, I know it's British). I always joke that there are some towns in England (I live in one now) that you are not entirely sure if people would realise there was a zombie apocalypse in. Most people would act entirely the same here if they were zombies. It's such a funny movie, so witty.

I watched this when I was around 5 or 6 and that David death haunted me for so long it was terrifying

That scene where David dies is SO gross - gave me blooy nightmares! After the Cornetto Trilogy, you could try Spaced - it's one of my favourite comedies where Edgar Wright really cut his teeth. Although weirdly, I'd say start with the second series...! :)

Honestly, I don;t know what oit is about SOTD, but it's the closest to a 'perfect' zombie film I've seen. Just everything about it makles me laugh and remember good times, it has a bit of everything. Probably doesn't hurt that it's british too lol

People closer to my age usually refer to that song playing on the bus as Zombie Nation but that's actually the name of the producer of the song. Im pretty sure that song is called wah oh oh

I would definitely recommend watching SPACED at some point, it's where all of this really started. Wright directed and it was written and produced by Pegg and Jessica Hynes. You really get a feel for their writing and comedy in that series, and Wright's directing and editing style.

"Paul" movie is the best one of them all. Simon and Nick are the best duo ever.

I have been watching this movie since it was first released on DVD and this is the first time I noticed that Matt Lucas was the other Ed.

Bloody Mary first thing (In the garden) Bite at the King’s Head (Philip gets bitten) Couple at the Little Princess (David and Di are a couple, Liz the princess) Stagger back here (acting like zombies) Back at the bar for shots (firing the Winchester rifle)

I'm pretty sure that David's gruesome death was an homage to the original Romero Dawn of the Dead, which had a similar scene of someone having their guts ripped out by a crowd of zombies.

I really enjoy humorous Zombie movies like this one, and Zombie Land (2009), and Warm Bodies (2013).

oooooh you should watch George Romero's "Dead" series of zombie movies. He invented the modern zombie. Before his films, zombies were a voodoo thing, a corpse or person under the spell of a voodoo queen or witch doctor to do their bidding. Romero was the one who came up with most of the zombie mythology that many movies still use today; if you're bitten you turn, you have to destroy the brain, they eat human flesh, etc. Each of his films show the progression of the zombie apocalypse, and each one deals with a certain social issue that was current for the time. The films have inspired many other media, including The Walking Dead. In fact, I think of his movies and TWD as taking place within the same continuity. It's always a hoot when these movies are referenced in TWD. "Night of the Living Dead" (1968) was the first one, followed by "Dawn of the Dead" (1978) and "Day of the Dead" (1985). There have been others in the series in recent years, not quite as good but lots of zombie goodness nonetheless.

Another great zombie romcom is Braindead(1992) by Peter Jackson. There are a few versions out there (in America it was called Dead Alive) but watch the UK version.

I love the Cornetto trilogy. It's just a layer after layer of jokes that are actually funny and clever. Hot Fuzz is probably my favourite one, though.

Sad Fact: there was supposed to be a Sequel to Shaun of the Dead called Shaun of the Dead: From Dusk till Shawn it was supposed to be an Alien movie but it was cancelled

It is really nice to see a reactor fully appreciate all the witty jokes/humor/timing etc. Part of me wants to say its a cultural difference because most of jokes go over American's reactors head. Yet it is all time favorite movie with friends along with Hot Fuzz.

Edgar Wright is honestly a genius.

This is a long time favorite in my family. So many good lines that my kids and I repeat often, like an inside joke - there’s a girl in the garden, bye bye bye bye bye when Liz ends the phone message, etc. I can’t hear either of these two Queen songs without thinking of those scenes.
