I can't believe this channel is so small. Your reactions are so much more thoughtful than almost every other channel doing something similar.

Thank you so much! That really means a lot. I am a small channel but really hoping to build on it. Hope you like my future reactions!

One of the best filmed episodes of anything I think I have ever watched. I felt like you. I was in the middle of a family argument I could not get away from. It was sad that the dad still sees them all as little kids and they could not stop with their family squabbles long enough to do what they were there for...say goodbye to Nell

It's crazy how a show can 6 episodes into it's season just randomly hit on the seriousness of suicide and the help people need going through that, how it effects the person and the family all while simultaneously putting on one of the best produced and shot episodes of a show that year as well as maintaining the story line and giving you scares. Brilliant television.

The old lady in the bed is not “Claire.” In Luke’s episode, when Luke and Nell play with the archaic intercom/phone in the kitchen (sending down buttons, I think?), Luke goes upstairs to that same bedroom. He sees a ghostly figure of an elderly woman lean in behind him and call out for “Clara.” I think you’re one of the most observant reactors I’ve seen. I loved the buttons on Nell’s eyes, as a nod to both her collecting buttons in her youth and payment to Charon. Lots of theories as to who put them there. I have my own idea about who did it and why, but I can’t say, yet. Great reaction, again! 😁

Also, at least you SAW Nellie, on your first watch! I only saw her on my second viewing. 😆

Just the memory of the "Clara" moment gives me chills! Yes a few people have said it is Hazel, when she appeared in the bed I was so creeped out! Thank you so much, I really appreciate it 🧡 I loved the buttons thing too, as both a nod to a tradition surrounding death but also as a throwback to Nelly's childhood. This series is so good at adding little touches like that.

Not only did Nellie collect buttons, her mother often called her "Button" because of that.

This episode was so hard to watch cuz it hits home. Especially at the very end with ghost!nelly standing there with the twins younger self's voice over. Luke: "I thought the house thing have got you! I thought they took you! Don't do that ever again!" Nellie: "I didn't go anywhere, I was right here and none of you could see me. Nobody could see me." - that had me and it hits (very) close to home. A great metaphor for depression. Great reaction as always! Four more episodes to go! I suggest you to bring more tissues for this lol

The long takes, their different coping mechanisms, the Dad seeing them as kids, Nellie still not being heard, Theo's inappropriate but still kind of hilarious humor, the quietness of the entire episode with just the thunderstorm in the back... 10/10. I loved your commentary! Also, your reaction to Nellie in the background 7 min in LMAO! P.s.: it's interesting how both Steven and Shirley are older siblings and both are "fixers" like the dad. "I can fix this", like he used to say about the house. Steve tries to by choosing not to have kids. And blaming it all on mental illness. Shirley by choosing to be a mortician. Although, like her mom, she does have some connection to the spiritual world as much as she denies it. She often experiences it in her dreams, but it sometimes spills into reality as well, or so it seems, at least...

A great reaction to a great episode, with an especially great ending (it almost always makes me cry). I cannot wait for the next one!

Hi, hope all is well. I was looking forward to seeing your reaction ! This show is so much more than scares, it's so full of emotional, traumatic disfunction. The five children represent the five stages of grief ! Such great writing, acting, direction. That last scene of Nelly right here and nobody could see me was so damn sad! Another great reaction, stay safe. ✌

This is one of my favorite episodes and I'm still mad they didn't win any awards for cinematography. The long shots are fantastic. The dad still seeing them as kids breaks my heart... especially when he sees young Nelly in the coffin. And then the end always makes me cry. No one could see her. So sad. I understand that feeling. I definitely suggest bly after this. Breaking bad is my favorite show ever so I highly suggest that. Ozark is good. Lost, you, bates motel, sopranos, just to name a few lol.

Lol. That third scene (the fight in the funeral home) is the epitome of 😬

The first cut was when the chandelier fell, the camera followed Hugh into the foyer, the chandelier fell, then the camera angle reversed looking back toward him. In the scene in episode 4 when Luke got the hat there was a conversation between Liv and Hugh where she was seeing a vision of the library and she talked about the children's books being low enough that the boy in the wheelchair could reach them. Then this episode we see the ghost boy in the wheelchair. Recommendations: The Haunting of Bly Manor, many of the same cast (in different roles) and production team. Dark, a German show, 3 seasons, best watched in German with English subtitles, the English dub isn't great. The series was planned, with great attention to detail, for just 3 seasons before the first season aired, there are clues in season 1 to events in season 3 and questions from season 1 that aren't answered until season 3.

If you're into the one-take-style (some directors prefer to call it no-cut), I recommend watching 1917, a great movie that is basically one real-time journey set in WW1 (but it's more than a war movie). Really great watch.

but the long takes are amazing - up until the last couple of minutes there are only 5 takes in the whole episode, the longest taking 17 minutes. they built the hill house and funeral home sets next to each other so that hugh could be depicted walking from one house into the other. the whole concept was that when someone dies time can seem to slow down or become thick, so there was always the idea from the beginning of pitching the show that there would be an episode that would feel like it was unfolding in real time. a cute detail is that because the choreography had to be so precise sometimes the smaller kids would have to be picked up by crew and carried out of frame because they couldn't go fast enough. plus carla gugino and a body double had to keep ducking into rooms or hidden doors built into the set to get those creepy shots of liv disappearing.

oh and victoria pedretti's contacts in her bent neck lady costume made it almost impossible to see so she had to be guided to all her marks then quickly pulled back out of the shot. but also the old lady in the bed isn't called Claire, her name is Hazel. did you mistake Hazel calling for Clara (Mrs Dudley)? and another layer to the button thing is that 'button' was Liv's pet name for Nell so it's even creepier.

Another great reaction. You are fun to watch and awesome the the way you break down the episode. I highly suggest watching Haunting of Bly Manor after your done with this show. Also watch the Boys, Queens Gambit and Ozark. They are all amazing shows

I think everyone had the same delayed reaction to seeing Nelly in the group shot. I saw an experiment with eye trackers which showed just how much directors can focus the audience's eye to one spot on the screen. This was masterfully done as she blends into the background with the cover of other still characters until a lightening flash highlights her

I love your reactions ❤ pls watch more shows , I recommend doing bly manor, dark , black mirror, queen's gambit, and if you like anime , attack on titan, this anime is very popular and good for someone that is new in this genre.

The old woman is Hazel Hill, who is the daughter of Jacqueline Hill (the woman that Clara was telling Nellie about in the picture who originally had the cup of stars). Clara cared for Hazel after she got really old, not Jacqueline. Clara is not 100's of years old 😂 loving these reactions!

You didn't comment on one of my favorite shots; where the dad looks at the kids and sees them as young kids and the camera spinning around him and then seeing the kids as adults, all done in one take.. That's just an amazing quick change act..

I loved that bit so much, unfortunately I was enjoying it so much at the time I didn't pause to comment on it. It's so sad how he still sees them as his little children, because that was the last time he was really in their lives. And yes so impressive that they managed to seamlessly do the which in a single take shot! I think only in watching the clips back did I really appreciate how difficult that was to pull off!

Oh please, watch The Haunting of Bly Banor afterwards. It's really different from Hill House. Goth Romance, not the same kind of scary at all, made family vs blood family vibes, very sweet, very heartbreaking, nine beautiful episodes that will break your heart in two.
