Despite what people say, I will always regard Eddie’s death as the absolute most tragic and gruesome death out of the entire series. The man put all his effort to save his friends and he still ends up getting ripped in half and eaten by the T-Rexes.
Yeah it's really annoying how many idiotic, careless, outright suicidal characters survive in this movie while Eddie, one of the two people in this with their head straight on, is killed like that. When I watched it first I was really hoping Nick would bite it, but it was a different time and they needed to hammer home the environmentalist message, so the literal terrorist that is getting dozens of people killed has to be shown in a badass light.

I love watching The Lost World: Jurassic Park, it has amazing scenes, especially when the dinosaurs are around!! Not to mention, the return of Ian Malcolm is always a plus
I remember going to London once and there was a massive statue of Jeff Golblum as Malcolm just chilling there next to the Thames, I still have no idea what he was doing there.
@@wearesorryfortheinconvenience It was amazing after you got over the initial shock... *having a stroll by the river* "Ah, what a lovel-what the hell is that!!!"
I love how it isn’t just the same movie again it has the core concept is the same “getting off a dinosaur coved island” but with new and refreshing execution.
This is honestly my favorite of the sequels by far. It’s not as good as the first film. But, I really respect the fact that it had the balls to not just be a carbon copy of the first and tried new ideas in terms of the tone and storytelling. Plus, you gotta admit, the soundtrack is awesome!
Read David Koepp's earlier script though.... it's better imo. The movie did not need that crazy San Diego scene... it should have stayed on the island... it's called The Lost World for a reason.
Fun fact, the reason why the compys managed to kill the guy, aside from numbers, was because they have a venomous bite in the books (not irl). You can actually see him getting more disoriented and weak after the first attack, stumbling more than before.
Another fun fact is that apparently Spielberg hired Peter Stormare just to kill him off because of how much he hated a character Stormare played in Fargo (1996).
What's scary is that the scene where the little girl was attacked by the Compies was take from a scene the the first Jurassic Park book. Was translated into film really well.
Honestly, this is probably my favorite Jurassic sequel. I used to hate it, but I’ve come to actually enjoy how different this film is from the first one.
Fav all time JP film! I love the pace and science that they added to this film. I have the dvd copy and I've seen it tooooooo many times to know the ins and outs! Fun facts: - compy scene is from the first book, the kid thankfully survives and it was actually on a beach on the mainland, not the island (I think, from what I recall) - Trex's are very territorial. After pushing the trailer off the cliff, they come back because they view that space as a threat when they took the baby trex. So they returned to eliminate any remaining threats. - In the film, they made it seem like the "dad" as the bigger trex and the one chasing the folks and doing all the work. When actually in the second book, it's the "mom" that's alot bigger and does all the dirty work. And they are alot more intense too, I don't want to give too much away. - The waterfall scene with the Trex is also another scene from the first book. Tim and lexi were hiding and the trex tried to snatch em (can't remember the details) - Sarah harding is an absolute badass in the second book, there are way too many cool parts! And I love that it's not shoved onto your face like "she can do it all" Highly recommend the 2 books! You'll definitley feel the tension and the build up as Speilberg did with these 2 films :)
My favorite part of this movie has got to be at the end, where the T-Rex "feeds" the guy to his child. To be fair, all the T-Rex scenes are my favorite in this one, especially where both parents are involved.
"The closer you are to death, while maintaining influence over your own fate, the more alive you feel" -that's the more appropriate extend of the quote. When one climbs Mt Everest, it's down to one's own competences and planning upon which staying alive rests in one's own hands. Thus you feel truly alive, because your ability to live is directly dependent on yourself.
With all 6 movies out right now I can easily say this is my favorite sequel. Back when I had the VHS on the night it released that had the card in the front of the box that changed when you moved it, I love this movie to this day.
@@Ewan-e2eI'm not going to lie, if I'm going to die a brutal death, eddies way of death is not a bad way to go out I mean if your going die, wouldn't you want to go out in a badass way? Be honest
17:10 IRL,research was done to a tyrannosaurus' skull in 2023 and they discovered that It would've been one of the smartest Dinosaurs,It would've possibly been smarter than a baboon.
Yea a lot of modern research has been conducted on their potential behavior. Their potential capacity for complex behavior, mixed with their extremely good vision (one of the misrepresentations promoted by JP), and their sense of smell all being in the absolute elite class -matched to a tank of a carnivore, goes to show their lives and behavioral patterns were likely far more advanced than people have traditionally given them credit for. Especially the people who have advocated for them only being scavengers for example, being consistently proven to have major fallacies in their arguments. Such interesting animals to study, imagine the millions of years they have had to evolve.
Smartest dinosaur? Crows, Parrots, Blue Jays and etc. doesnt exist? + Thats misunderstanding, Tyrannosaurus would be smart, BUT in different way than u think (otherwise it would use tools)
@@roguetheoutlander8800using tools in nature shouldn’t be a measure of intelligence in regards to prehistoric life. I get your point but that’s like saying why can’t whales and dolphins use tools when we know how intelligent they are and complex their social interactions are.
A revisit from 26th april 2024 of this study from 2023 showed that it wasnt correct but wasnt false either Tyrannosaurus and other cretaceous large theropods were smart, but werent as smart/smarter than Baboons (Baboons are still smarter
7:05 largest real species of Stegosaurus would be over 5 tons This Sorna's species would be probably over 10 tons and Nublar's species would be around 8 tons
JP and Lost world are definitely my top favourite from the franchise!❤ Answering your question about the island - It is a real place. That's Isla del Coco in Costa Rica. Nobody's allowed inside so I'm sure they used another tropical forest for the rest of the movie. Thank you for the fun reaction as always!
34:50 In a deleted scene when they have tied up the baby rex Ludlow is a bit drunk and falls on the baby rex and breaks its leg. In the script he kicked it... so the revenge in the San Diego scene is perfect. 36:40 The San Diego finale was a late addition... originally the island village was bigger with a water tower where Kelly vs raptor happens... The raptors chased both groups on the roofs of the village but after awhile suddenly back off and the whole Pteranodon attack scene on the roofs & compound happens... Kelly is grabbed and falls into one of the nests but gets saved by Roland Tembo I think (Ludlow died in a scene before that). At the end Malcolm & Kelly meet up with Lex & Tim at John Hammond's funeral and Malcolm does a voice over as we see a last shot of the Pteranodon landing on it's nest and squawk just like in the final cut. They never ended up filming this. Sarah Harding is the daughter of Gerry Harding (the man who is at the sick Triceratops site in the first Jurassic Park).
Just a little Easter egg for when you watch Jurassic park 3. The green T-Rex in jp3 is the same baby T-Rex from lost world just all grown up, since it is the same island and pay attention to how it has a limp which is a result of its leg being broken as an infant. The parents are off doing who knows what, bcuz the parents are later shown in Jurassic world dominion Alongside Rexy.
YESSS! I LITERALLY JUMPED OUT OF MY SEAT WHEN I GOT THIS NOTIFICATION! I've been waiting for you to watch this and the other Jurassic films! Can't wait for more! And maybe some of the Mega Shark movies or classic Godzilla films!
One of my favorite franchises! Thanks for watching it! I can't wait to see your reaction to the next ones :) Once again, what a great video!! I love to watch your videos to take my mind off things and cheer me up! Thank you for your constant joy!
First movie I ever saw at the cinema without my parents! I was barely 9, jumped in my seat an unhealthy amount of times and probably squeezed my best friend's arm to a pulp 😂 but we loved it. Shortly after we started a habit of going to see any dinosaur (well, sadly there werent a lot from a long time!), action, kung fu movie together and we always had a blast, but the Lost World really holds a special place. Ah, good times ❤ Havent heard of my then best friend in more than 15 years. I hope he's doing well.
I love this film so much - it's my 2nd favourite out of all six. So excited that you've finally decided to watch it! This film and the 1st one are my favourite films ever, and this franchise is my favourite movie franchise ever!!
Fish tanks are very much still in. In fact they've gotten bigger. Almost everyone I know has a big one or 2. I have 3 & my really wide one I keep my 2 axolotls. They're so adorable. 😊
I perfer 3 because I'll be honest, I remember every beat of the plot. In lost world it's 90% the humans beating up the dinosaurs and not the other way around
LOL - I cracked up laughing when you said "If I see this is the most replayed moment, I'll delete the video" shortly after 23:23 🤣 Speaking of which... you've DONE the movie called "The Number 23", so... notice the exact time stamp of that moment 🤣
I need you to watch the rest of the Jurassic park and word movies!! They are soooo good ❤ and your reactions are amazing and I just think generally you’ll like them :))
This is my favorite of the Jurassic marks.Yes the first one is classic but this one is cool seeing the dinosaurs in the wild being chased by poachers And mercenaries . Also , the t rex in downtown is epic . And as a kid they had really cool toys That came out
That compy swarm where they kill that guy is also from the first book. Hammond in the book is a lot less "jovial grandfather" and a lot more "greedy capitalist." *He's* the one taken out by the compy swarm.
Actully a "Procompsognathus triassicus" because they change the species in the movies to be "compsognathus longipes" so hammond didn't got eaten by compys He got eaten by procompys
My absolute favorite from the franchise as well as my favorite movie in general. My favorite moment was the whole trailer over the cliff scene. I swear, it is the most suspenseful moment I have ever seen in films. Plus, it has the most epic death in the whole franchise. An absolute underrated gem of a film.
The first movie was made so realistic within the parameters of the film; but this movie I saw as a kid in theaters when it came out, and it just did not let up. I still love this movie for that theatrical experience and the horror, comedy, tragedy, and ridiculousness of it all. Kind of like the movie Speed, you know?
Even though the 3rd one is the most denigrated of the 3 JP movies, I honestly really like it... probably more than the first two. A decent chunk of that is just my bias in that it has my favorite dino tbh (and one they translated to film spectacularly), but it had a couple of twists and cool changes that I felt spiced JP up from the first two. So no matter what people say about it, I will never stop loving JP3 and I hope you watch and enjoy it too Seb :)
This movie got better the older I got honestly, I used to not be much for it but now along with 3 it's one of my favourites. One has it's charm but I love the danger sense in 2-3 and just the exploration of the islands and horror aspects.
You’re right we’re not done yet because Jurassic Park 7/ Jurassic World 4 is coming next year. And we have another animated series coming later this year.
The guy that approached Ian Malcom on the subway ("I believed you. Rawr!") was played by Eli Roth, uncredited. While he has a few other minor credits before this film (at least one of which was a student film), he's probably best known as the director of Hostel and for playing Donny "The Bear Jew" Donowitz in Inglourious Basterds, both of which came out years after this movie (8 and 12, respectively). Since this glorified extra role was long before he was even a rising star, can this still be considered a cameo? To this day "Don't go into the long grass!" is a common saying for me. I mean, I still go into long grass, but that's because it's only waist-height, it's in a city park, I stick to the trails, and velociraptors aren't a thing anymore (and never looked like that, besides).
Yes all of the islands that are part of the movie franchise are real islands (different names than in the movies) but some parts of the islands they did CGI. Most of the islands used are part of the Hawaii island chain and another is an island off the cost of Costa Rica
10:58 He is a Swedish actor called Peter Stormare, he often plays eastern european characters, like russians, germans. The snake is probably supposed to be a Coral Snake a highly poisonous.
27:35 The snake scene makes much more sense if you look at it in survival instinct perspective... when you feel a dangerous creature on you, your body moves on its own.
7:05 One species, Stegosaurus ungulatus, is one of the largest known of all the stegosaurians, with the largest known specimens measuring about 7.5 metres (25 ft) long and weighing over 5 metric tons (5.5 short tons).
A surprising amount of people think this movie is bad, but they just have bad taste This is a great movie, the third is even good, better than people give it credit for
