This is club racing in the 100cc Masters Class at Dallas Karting Complex near Dallas, Tx. I explain the whole race from the warm up lap to the cool down lap for those interested in getting into karting and are doing research.
I could tell in the last video and in this video your engine is sounding a lot better and running better. Thats why I asked you about the rebuild in the last video. Congrats on the Win. I can tell you are improving in this Kart as a driver!
after watching this I feel like you could be a lot more aggressive on the brakes into turn 1 and try to turn the steering into the corner harder so it will allow your back left wheel to come off the ground and will rotate more but other than that good video
Hey bro have you had any gopros die on you using the odenthal mounts or the side camera mount that you have? Getting my double mount tomorrow and mounting 2 new gopros on it but im worried they might die cause of the vibrations - any issues for you in the past?
I have not had any issues so far. The only problem I had is the aluminum camera case I bought for the mount broke from the vibrations. I think the plastic mount on the GoPro will break. Make sure you zip tie your GoPro to the Odenthal mount.
is this that same case you are referring to?? this was the one they recommended was debating buying 2, but i will definitely ziptie the camera - have you shown the odenthal setup in any previous videos? @@IllegalAlienRacing

I was considering getting into the sport but I saw a guy driving DKC with no patience for people that are starting and might be struggling with an over slippery track and being pushed over because hey you are a "lapper" and have no business being on the track. Forget that there are flaggers normally to tell you when someone is trying to lap you. I mean why are they even there if you have complete awareness of all the drivers on the track and their respective positions! Guessing who is behind you is not easy unless you know you are dead last. I thought that could have been the heat of the moment when that guy said he went to talk to them and be nice but then trash them again in the voice over, which was recorded way after the race and a good cooldown. Funny also you lap a guy this time but you didn't push him. Isn't he a lapper after all?! I mean he can't even keep his kart on the track obviously! So TL;DR: no thank you. I will still watch your video and like them when the content shows sportsmanship but I won't spend two hours on the road round trip for that kind of experience. Sportsmanship requires no exception. Sorry.
What about the part where a lapper cost two drivers a chance to win a race? Are those drivers not allowed to be upset with the lappers regardless if they're new or not? Are the new drivers not in the wrong at all? You're missing a few things. First of all, the corner workers at DKC do not throw passing flags. Second, it's reasonable to assume a person entering a go kart race is at minimum a casual racing fan and has seen drivers that are getting lapped get out of the way in those races, why would it be different here? All of our times are posted after qualifying and the prefinal race so they know they're not up to pace with the other drivers and that getting lapped is a possibility. Also, when you don't pass hardly anyone and you started at the very end of the field, it's a clue that maybe those people coming up on you are lapping you. You're right, it might be a little difficult to see what's going on behind you but that doesn't give you a license to be oblivious to your surroundings and ruin other people's races. I talked to the one driver I t-boned after the race and not the others. I was still upset with him regardless of the situation because he cost me a chance to win a race. I know it's rental karts but I'm a competitive person and I'm not going to apologize for giving my best and trying to win a contest. The comment about pushing the lapper in the club race is ridiculous. Completely different scenario. In regards to sportsmanship, I'm not perfect but I do show good sportsmanship overall. If you've ever competed in anything, then you know that sometimes people are going to clash and disagree and this is how I see the overall situation.
@@IllegalAlienRacing Yes I was missing that passing flags are not being used. That would have been up to those people to exclude a racer that does not comply. But it also means that the person leading had also to deal with the same behavior.So maybe you had a chance to catch up and pass because they also suffered that same driver behavior. I do know what it means to be competitive, I've practiced high level competitive sports (not in motorsport) and been an official referee for many years at regional level and I have family that are practicing sports (again not motorsport) at international level. But your comments were about lappers, not bad racing etiquette. I'm a lapper. Not because I want to but because my skills are far from where they need to be. I tried to get out of the way as much as possible but it's not easy to know when you are getting lapped vs when you are competing for position. Because I'm also competitive, I will not give up a place easily. DKC with the overall hyper slippery track did not make it easy because you start getting lapped very quickly if you make a mistake and spin. Seeing many people that have spun, I would not have been able to tell you where I would be standing. The mistake here was mostly on DKC. You have qualifying rounds for a reason, to weed those people that are too casual to be able to be competitive or showing non proper racing etiquette as they tend to repeat that behavior. Not having passing flags exacerbate those problems. F1 once had time limit between qualifying rounds and the race. If you were more than 107% from the pole time you could not race. Maybe something like that should be in place. While again, this is not addressing racing etiquette, it is at least removing the "too casual" drivers instead of just trying to fill up a grid.
@@fdelacou What was the start of the issue is that they didn't run an LCQ race because enough drivers didn't sign up for the heavy class. If I remember correctly, they let all 28 drivers into the final race where there's normally just 25 and those last 5 had to race to get into the final race. DKC only requires a person to have driven on the track once before they let them race so they could have any lap time. I think a person should ask or find out what the typical lap times are and practice until they're in the range. You're right, it doesn't address racing etiquette though. There are enough hairpin turns at this track where you see who's coming up on you and can gauge if someone is quickly catching you. We usually don't lap people.
