So I'm new at video making. This is the very first one I've ever shot like this. I'm a complete RU-vid noob. I'm aware I did a very poor job at explaining exactly what it is I'm doing in this video.
Winter Sowing is a method of starting your seeds early, outdoors in the snow. You take a plastic container, make it into a mini-greenhouse, fill it with dirt, and plop it in the snow and cold.
This is my first year attempting this method and these are my results so far.
Hopefully I'll make another video explaining it in more detail.

Great job on your first video! Do'nt you give up on those peppers that haven't come up yet! Peppers and melons are amongst the LAST to come up in Winter Sowing. Give them another month at least. Even if they seem too small to make it, they will catch up. Also good lesson on using FRESH potting soil mix for next year. You need a good nutritious soil for Winter Sowing since the plants will be in there quite a while. I would not use previously used soil with weeds. You're really doing a lot better than you think you are! Also another place to look is seed quality, watering, seed depth when you sowed seeds, sunlight, soil quality, full tape or partial... there are a lot of factors. Also you CAN transplant the carrots into a bigger pot with a higher lid or when they are a bit bigger, you can transplant the whole hunk in-ground. you do it by transplanting as a whole hunk. the roots are not disrupted. I've done it! Your lettuceslooks amazing with your sunflowers and the others. Great job! Looking forward to more of your videos! Sheryl

Hi, Came over from Sheryls to spy on you...lol. I think you'll do great videoing and I like your funny little comments.About gardening: What zone are you in? I think its still too early for your peppers, watermelon, and tomatoes to sprout. Also do you have holes in the tops and bottoms of those containers? It looks like your spinach needs air to dry out and more soil, plant deeper next time. This is my first year with the WS containers and I had to bite the bullet and buy seed starting mix, thus no weeds and no fungus's etc.....it wasn't that expensive maybe 15$ -3 small bags organic mix from Walmart. We first timers have to stick together. Elaine zone 5-NY

+eveny119 Spy away Elaine! I'll be doing another video showing exactly how I did and what I used in my WS containers soon. Would've been today but a large number of rain clouds had other ideas. I'm zone 5 as well (possibly 6, I'm very close to the line so I just default with 5) Stick around for future vids if you'd like and happy spying!

You probably need to make holes on some lids. Some plants seem to be suffocating. Also the things that are growing are cold season crops and perennials. Too early for warm season crops like peppers.
