Funny enough before that round started I thought to myself “wow the judges have been great this season!” and then this event had a ton of calls I didn’t quite understand. I agreed with some of the calls but their reasoning made no sense. I guess they had to make up for the first 4 rounds

@@tancankemaller7136 Yes there was some shitty calls at St. Louis but you can’t seriously believe rtr is being targeted. Rtr wasn’t the only team dealing with bad calls and they also won the previous 3 events.

Since when does dropping a single tire equal a L, when the chase driver can miss 2 OZ's? It complete total BS

​​​​@@cliff4695 he means lead vs lead James lead was almost perfect but thorn droped a tyre in his lead, thats where I see the comparison both hadn't the best chase, they wer both washy so I go off the leads then see is there a difference and there was James clearly won. One of the judges actually agreed

@@cliff4695 Sorry, should've clarified that if all other things are equal in chase and lead runs, but one driver drops a tire, then that driver should lose the battle and it shouldn't be an OMT.

@@Barry.ONeill You said it better than I did. That's exactly the point that I was trying to make, that based on Thorn doing what amounts to dropping a tire while Deane not doing anything like that in his runs means that Thorn should have lost and Deane should have won.

I would love to have the DMEC judging calls on all bullshit we have seen last week !

From event to event more like run to run sometimes especially that weekend. Shocking.

They will just do what they always do. Either call their fans idiots through condescending remarks, or say they made changes to the rules but still keep the same judges that don't use the rules to make their calls.

Agreed, spot on. I thought it would been easy looking lead vs. lead, because you need a good lead to have a good chase.

Just to add Deanes lead in the first battle was better than Matts ...matt had Hella wobbles in zones especially 3

@fzR-up2uu It has nothing to do with team sizes. The shit that some drivers did that weekend should have put the under the same scrutiny as James. Ryan Aasbo both dropped tires, yet it wasn't a factor in the judging. It's not that deep. The problem is that some drivers are held to a higher standard than the rest, which is why we see these BS questionable calls. 9 years of watching FD, and it's only recently (3years) has the call been so weird and hard to understand.

I agree with you regarding the tracks. They always feel the same to me for the most part and are too short. If you watch DMEC they have much more interesting layouts and the tracks are longer from what I've seen.

Never seen someone get penalised for being wide in an outside zone And for some reason forsberg kept leaving oz1 early but they kept allowing it ???

So heres the thing, they might say that "it was said in the drivers briefing" but then they go about and keep making calls that are not in line with what they say in the drivers meeting. The same thing happens in DMEC so its not just a one series problem. It happens in the Swe champs, Scani champs, local comps etc What needs to happen is a judging manual that they need to stick to. I think it also would make it easier for the judges as they have something that explains to them why one thing is better than another. This needs to be universal so if you start your grassroots career you will learn from day one what its like being judged in FD or DMEC

That's was a straight zero and James did NOT scrub speed. I like Thorne but he deff didn't not win that run

Watched this a few times and just before. No dirt, no slow down. Thorne was so deep he didn’t have a chance. He straightened because he sent it too deep.

I remember the poll on the livestream on who won that battle and it was around 80% that voted for Deane. I don't think all of them are fanboys. Of course, we all have some preferred drivers but most of us are still capable to be objective enough to vote on who performed better or am I wrong? And that OMT was even worse. I would have given it a shared fault because Thorne was on a much tighter line with less angle. I think without that dirt drop he would've still straightened in the chase. I need to rewatch that frame-by-frame to really settle my opinion on this but this made me so upset that I don't want to. :D

Judges somehow closed their eyes when Thornes rear wheel goes over the red white , but james went a bit longer on outside 1 they made a huge fuss over it as if Thorne didn't do that in his lead somewhere between the two runs. Pretty bad judging tbh.

FD is not the top competition anymore sadly. Other than that true.

Agreed. I was there with my son and he was like "that's Dean'es car!" when it pulled up. When Chelsea got out and ran to his car we lost it.

This makes a lot of sense. They will never go for it.
