Weather is always a problem in the summertime. I hate hot weather so much that I moved from the South to Minnesota and never regretted it. That was many years ago. I spent enough time in that hellhole in the South that I was so happy to step off the plane in 32-degree weather in Minnesota. The weather in Minnesota (and Canada) suits me fine. I still don't like July and August, but at least it's cool in the Spring, Fall and Winter.

Something to consider is noseem screen with magnets to keep bugs out and let airflow in; put over windows and tailgate opening, quick and easy to put up, made a world of difference on my camper top. Awesome set-up I like the bed and lift for it.

I watch all of the truck campers, and you're right. They always have their beds on the drivers side. This new perspective makes the video seem much different, new, and unique. I like the change. Another great one!

I would suggest making a roll down velcro screen for that back lift window. The other thing I do when I truck camp is put op a simple 12x12 pop up and set it at the tailgate end of my truck (with about 3 ft overlapping the top of my truck). I'm sure you have thought of these things, but just in case anyone else hasn't.

This setup reminds me of another RU-vidr, "Crazy Quady 🤪." You would like him a lot. He is a really decent guy. I can't wait to view more of your videos and see where your adventures take you. You seem to be on the straight and a nice guy. The next thing you know, it's not that awesome little get away it's filled with lots of noisy people. So if you wanna keep a place the way it is, don't say the name of the campground. Great video! I do minivan camping myself. The idea of having a "false tailgate" to house an air conditioner intrigues me. I'll have to give that some thought!

Rooster Tail spinner. Black/white, with speckles and gray bottom if possible (kinda hard to find sometimes). I've never failed to catch at least something, in any body of fresh water or river, no matter where I'm at. Everything from Perch to Bass, Trout to Salmon, Pike, Walleye, I don't know what it is about them, but Rooster Tails have always worked for me ever since I was a kid. I just wish they would have never stopped making the propeller type spinners.... lots less getting stuck in weeds, and they never fail to spin like a spoon/paddle type can. I still have several from my childhood I just keep rebuilding. They are fish-catching suns-a-guns! :) I love your setup and really enjoyed the video!

Love how you psych yourself up for good fishing. :). A good option for a fork is a set of chopsticks for pasta, etc. Don’t have to be an expert - just drag the food to your mouth.:). Great vid.

You and your new Truck set-up did not disappoint 🙌 👏. Despite the weather outside, conditions inside the new build out seemed to work great! Yep, next the Air Conditioner build for sure. Florida is already hot during the daytime, most nights are still cooler than you'd think. Personally I'm loving the cooler nights... summer will be here soon enough. Lol.

Great job on the camper. NICE. I have a Tacoma five and a half foot bed, and that's the ONLY think I dislike about it - short bed - or I'd do something like this as well. Well, that and it'd be hard to put in the garage.

It's awesome to see you still having fun and making the best of bad weather. I love the setup. It seems so efficient. The spot is really fantastic. I am still having a hard time finding any spots remotely similar to this in Wisconsin. There is nothing on a lake. Everything is in the woods. I've never fished in Texas, but up here in central New York I would have tried a top water frog popper. We care getting close to black fly season here in the Adirondacks and when they come out you better be wearing your bug net suit. Looks like the rig is working out good for you, just be safe with that stove inside. Drink your Miller lite it's my favorite beer. Take care and be safe.

That looked like fun and I think it is smart to have your virgin trip close to home. You’re smart to test out everything first. I would have loved that rain storm, even though it seemed a little loud. Head phones may be in order but it is still the best time for a nap. I’ve thought about fixin up my Jimmy to do some short jaunts. I live in Texas too and there is at least a couple years worth of jaunts right in this state. And any type of climate you want. We have deserts. Piney woods, mountains, caves, observatories, gulf beaches, Alamo,River walks, glass bottom boats on a cypress tree river in San Marcus, semi tropical, cold and snowy in the panhandle. Texas has it all! You look like you are at lake Benbrook in South West Fort Worth. Big Lake, but around here I find that the fish don’t bite when it’s fixin to rain, or when the cows are lying down( due to the change in the barometric pressure) or so my. Grandpa told me.

Wind is the one thing that can mess up a fishing trip. I can fish in the rain, in the dark, in the cold.....but not the wind.

You’re not planning on using the Zero Breeze this year? The setup is a bit wonky especially with the inlet and outlet hoses. As far as your rear glass goes, I think every camper shell leaks a little right there. I’m sure you could put some type of weatherstripping on the top of the tailgate to help some

#brianwatersoutdoors I live in Maine and camp on Webb Lake in Weld Maine across from Mt Blue and tumbledown. I have a pair of old binoculars but they are broken so you can only see out of one lense. I would love the telescope to be able to set up at the campsite to teach kids/parents about the night sky. Occasionally you can see the northern lights from there also.

That's why it's called fishing and not catching. Just keep it at it they will bite eventually with the right setup. Go simple, try a rooster tail #brianwatersoutdoors

Very good setup, may I suggest 2 things though, I live in the south and I know how hot it gets in the summer a good idea to create some type of cooling and an exhaust fans . When I have to cook inside I usually and always have MRI , I make my own MRI but buying some is also good with flawless heaters. And a truck pop up tent is nice I have one too sorry 3 suggestions not 2

Reminds me of the old days. I lived in the back of my pickup for two and a half years after I got out of the Navy. I refused to pay rent. I would travel to places and get a job through a temp services to keep money in the bank. Didnt really have any bills plus I had Money being payed to me from my Navy Buy out. In the winter I would go south and then North in the summer. I used Gym and camp ground memberships for showers and such. I just couldnt bring myself to pay rent to someone till I found were I wanted to settle. I finally settled in Southern Missouri where I bought my house. I dont know How you do this in a six and half foot pickup box. I used a 1995 Ford F150 with a nine foot box(pretty rare option) and I would not want to go smaller.

I'm not a big fan of camping in the back of a pickup truck. Safety reasons. If you need to make an emergency escape, you have to leave the back of the truck to get into the cab. That could be very dangerous. But hey, if it works for you, then enjoy.
