I am going to attempt to clean the 1965 Mercury Montclair for the first time in at least 16 years. She has been sitting for in a field for 16 years! We have gotten her to start and move, now we need to clean her up? All these questions answered on this episode of RevStoration.

Reminds of working in the garage on my 66 galaxie 500 XL. Sadly my dad past away in 2011 and I still can't bring myself to work on her with out him to this day, but my son is wanting to work on with me so maybe it's a sign. Thanks for bringing back some fond memories for me. Keep up the good work.

My favorite part of the '65 Merc is the aerodynamic front end. My dad had a 65 Monterrey Breezeway when I was a kid. Brings back a lot of memories. Glad to see someone put sometime into one.

Buy some of that silicone spray and spray it in the window track it helps with windows going up and down and some white lithium grease on the window gears

Cory, I think the silicone spray would help on the tracks.. The back window track probably has rat nest in it. I need to clean out any trash before spray.

I got to say the wife said I got emotional when I seen that back window go down or move and this is why, I was put together December 23rd 1963 and I pictured my sister and I when we was about four or five years old with our knees into the back seat looking out that back window and my grandma driving us to the Dairy Queen or the Taco Bell what is her favorite. Oh yeah and the Piggly Wiggly in Harlan County Kentucky because that's where we are originally from. Everytime I hear that song I'm going to buy me a Mercury that's the car I think of it's pretty funny really but I want to say thank you young man when I seen that window move I moved so God bless you young buck and we are waving our hand from Dirty Old Kentucky Corbin to be exact and God bless.

Rev, love this car! This is not a car for you to just make presentable. You need to restore this Murc completely. This car is deserving of resurrection and presentation at church every week! This is a car that a pastor should be driving. I doesn't need much body work, the engine is running and can be upgraded as necessary. A good Paint Job and some interior work and you have an instant classic. You learned how to sew, you can learn to upholster. Replacement carpets are less than $200. Make this your go to church car. I will be posting more on your latest vid, too.

The roof line and back glass was the #1 thing that made me want to give this ride another chance. The 390 was a big help too. Hopefully all of the rust issues does not derail the restore.

I had a 65 merc Montclair here at my shop that I pulled the engine out of. I difnt own the car. I bought the engine & the owner houled the car to my shop for me to work on here as I pulled the engine. Looked very much like the one you have there! Same color n all!

Ignition key is the same as trunk/door locks just backwards. Get the Ford round key and get it cut to ignition. That should work.

Honestly, I don't think it's bad at all. For me, it has to be so far gone that the car needs to be rebuilt from scratch before I'd give up on it. There's really not much you can't repair if your heart is in it. And american steel isn't common these days. Nearly every car can be and should be saved. We are never gonna have these again. Love the channel keep it going!

Thanks Philip. I agree that these cars are a dying breed. The issue always comes down to the dollars verses the return. The Montclair completed verses the cost to get her there may not be an equation that make sense. She has a bunch of positives and a few negatives working against her.

I really enjoy the fact that your family and God is in the forefront of your channel. My 92 y/o grandpa and I tinker around on vehicle. While I still have him with me I’m thinking about starting a revival type channel to spend as much time as I have left with him.

I purchased this one at the good ole Walmart and it does a perfect job for washing cars.. not the best unit in the world but for the price, I do not think you can beat it.

Try some mildew blaster from dollar general. It will clean her up. I use it on cleaning up engine bays. It cleans good
