I joined KPMG on 15th March as an Associate Consultant.
I was interviewed during the month of december and received my offer from KPMG on 12th January. The vlog covers my 1st week experience at KPMG.

@@akkash7871 Yeah so the questions in HR round will test your confidence and gk. In Technical rounds, conceptual questions will be there, if you don't know something, don't bluff them. Tell frankly. Prepare as per your service line. In audit, prepare Ind AS, especially 115,116 nicely. Caro 2020 with amendments etc

Drop mail and keep following up.. The partners handles the projects. So may be the project for which u were being interview if off the shelf now. But untill u get a official offer verbal confirmation won't help.

As much I have hard yes they do.. These are team or project specific often. Unfortunately I am quite new to have witnessed one and as per the prevailing situations I don't see any hope to witness any such party any time sooner.

I believe kgs is relatively better.. Kgs basically handles global projects and KPMG india is mostly having indian clients. For foreign clients u get a lot of flexibility that is not their with indian clients. But the shifts could be odd like starting from 1 or 1:30 pm

Hi Nirabh. I joined KI and for KI ppl they are either delivering or giving an option to collect. If the delivery seems to be difficult for the location being at out skirts they are asking to use personal laptop for a while until arrangements are made for delivery.. For KGS I need to ask one of my friend u joined in KGS

Depends on the project. So for some projects u need to work from secure office. In such cases carrying phone is not allowed

What's the process till the onboarding? Do you need to do any paperwork before the joining day or is it like, you get a link to join a call on your onboarding day in your personal mail ID?

After I received my laptop HR send ne few mails with documents to see and sign. Some were related to the offer and some regarding my bank account and pf.. No meeting links as such were provided and I had to seek help from ahe for any doubts and concerns. Then u get access to few portals for some more documentation.. Post fee days u will get mails for onboard training where almost everything about the organization will b covered

@@avijit2061 hr called me a week prior to doj. I had the date of joining since I received the offer letter on 15th jan. As per my duration of notice period I was offered a doj of 15th march.

@@surajjeswara Yes, I have got the joining date in the offer letter. It is in 2 weeks. However, my joining location is in Bangalore and I am based in Kolkata now. Will be onboarded virtually. Being the first job change, a bit curious and even nervous till I join. Reason why I asked for the process xD . Thanks for your answers.

There is a list I will share it with u of needed. Adhar, pan and pf account details from previous account if applicable. U may have them create a new account for you from a set of bank choices.. Don't worry about it if u already have a salry account you may get it transferred too. I transfered my pf account and salary account from Cognizant

I am pretty much sure about it bcoz yesterday I received a mail from the hr telling me that they couldn't connect to anyone from the company where I worked 4 years back. So they wanted some contact from the company who can substantiate my previous employment there..

It will be expensive in Mumbai.. I haven't got the chance to work from MUmbai but as per the experience I hear from my friends Mumbai is expensive.

Yes it does.. My new lapt was sent to my address. Since the office was approx 5 km to my place I went to collect it. Other wise as per their process of dispatching some time would have been consumed in doing formalities

End of every month. Last date or Last Friday. Their could be several issues related to bank Or accounts team at kpmg. Ask ur frnd to reach out to his/her hrbp

No bro.. Entry level is analysts.. From some tire 1 college they directly recruit as Associate consultant. But definitely not an entry level. The responsibilities one has is quite extensive

Experience is awesome. I have a video on that. Please check it out. Work pressure varies. But the company gives u enough time for friends and family. It often gives holidays on mondays and fridays so that employees get an extended weekend. . And let me tell u that during the year end we get a stretch of holiday.. Hi suraj, I have my doj with kpmg in Nov 8 as associate consultant in advisory team for agile pmo and scrum master role . I have heard that it will be a bit challenging for kt and work load . Can u pls help me with this with the kt with tools?

Hello.. Yes. The work load varies. Team sizes are less so individuals has to take a lot of responsibilities. But it depends form project to project. Due the work load u are expected to learn most of the things of ur own. The KT even if arranged will only be 1 or 2. I was in cognizant where the kts used to last for weeks.. 😅 . Though there is pressure company keeps giving extended holidays and leave plans are decent as well. I took time to settle in but I love it now.

Ur choice must be on the kind of projects u r allocated and the learning scope u will have in that project. However, to answer you well I will once have a talk with one of my friend who recently joined EY and will give u a briefing accordingly.

It depends on projects. For me it flexible.. For one of my friend at EY its 1 PM to 11 PM. While one friend from PWC says he starts from 9 AM. And the duration too varies. FOr some projects they will ask you to work for 8:30 hr or 9 hrs. So its varies :)

English is an advantage but the most important thing is clear communication. U mst b able to convey yourself well even though u dont use a lot of vocabs that's fine. 😊

Hi Suraj, This is really an informative video, how is the work life balance in KPMG India? Since you have spent a good amount of time with the firm how is your experience. What are the daily working on an average day?

Experience is good. People are very skilful around. I feel growth here both personally and professionally. Work life balance is nice. Not at all disruptive as may people say for big 4. But yeah it depends on the project also. But kpmg as a company tries to make things easy for you buy giving occasional perks and holidays. Like 25th is a holiday called by kpmg india to let it's associates relax 😎

Why not. They have a leave portal go and apply from there ur manager ur approve.. No need to ask anyone. However, if u think there is some important dependence on you related to some work or project. Reach out to ur manager first and inform him/her about ur absence before applying for it from the leave portal

@@rashisharma6336 I believe this to be very subjective thing.. U may not know what kind of project u get or what kind of people will b working with u. From work perspective u can just be prudent but never predict what can happen. From self development perspective I have grown here more as a professional than my previous company that too in a very short span. So don't get confused whatever it b u gonna get a wonderful experience that will help u later in ur personal and professional life.

Hi Suraj. I got offers from KPMG India as associate consultant but i shall work for KPMG KGS for a project. My payroll would be KPMG India. I have other from E&Y GDS as Consultant. Could you provide your inputs which would be better in terms of work culture, performance pay .

I also have the same thing. Being in kpmg india I work for kgs. That is called loaned stuff. I find everything good. Actually I have no complains. To talk of choosing between ey and kpmg. I have few frnds at EY who complains of work pressure and I also know a frnd who recently switched to kpmg for the same reason. I would still ask u to consult few more people about the work culture of ey. But for kpmg it is great.

Thanks Suraj for your prompt reply. Actually my work timings in KPMG KGS would be 11-8 where as E&Y GDS it's is normal shift. 9-6. Can you please let me know How the work culture in E&Y GDS because I have a kid. I need to balance that too. Very much confused which to join.

@@sayankasamanta1841 no base location doesn't changes frequently. I haven't heard anything of that sort post my joining. But u may need to travel based on project and the frequency depends on project type and span. But kpmg has been taking precautions for its employees and I don't see any such scope to travel atleast in a year or so

@@sayankasamanta1841 I stay near kolkata so i could go and take laptop. Have a talk with HR. They are also sending laptop to new joiners. Worklife balance ⚖️ is not havoc. It depends on the project. My manager strictly prevents me from doing any work on weekends.

I am a workaholic so i hardly mind extending beyond my usual working hours. At times the pressure is huge and u struggle to juggle between ofc and family but u get plenty of time to relax as well whn the stakes r not much high in the project. Like i had a gala time for a month. 😃
