FIRST WEEK BACK | trainings, PD, getting our classroom ready, back into a routine!

So right! Cleaning up a classroom after another teacher who leaves is work! But I am happy for some of the things left behind that I can use😃.

All activities of the morning routine start planned. From waking up, taking a shower, getting dressed, having breakfast to preparing tools for teaching. Cheers to you, Madison, the kindergarten teacher. Armed with a strong determination, this woman ventured in the first week of teaching.

Teachers leaving all of that stuff in the classroom, sometimes they think they're doing us a favor but they're not. I always compare it to moving into a new home. When you move into a new home the previous owners stuff is not filling the cabinets and the closets and the drawers. And I think that any teacher leaving a classroom should do the same. I try to do that every year, unless there is something that the school district has bought for my students, then I don't leave it there I throw old stuff away, and take personal things home. It's a good practice to do at the end of the year anyway, because you never know in the summer if you're going to come back or not sometimes. So just go ahead and prep the room.

Wow! Your class is looking good girl. Good job to you and your teaching partner 😊. May I suggest for the extra books, could you put them in bins with like picture labels? That way, when the students want to read a book. They can remember where to put them back. I find in kinder lots of labeling with images is very easy to help their independence 😊. By the way your trainings look so much more fun than mine lol. We don’t do anything like you had nor have a fun retreat. That’s amazing. Looking forward to seeing the rest of your school year. Praying that God will continue to guide you in this new season of life 💜

OMG! July 31. That seems so early. It's interesting to see how other states do licenses. I have a K-3 license. The we have 4-8 and 9-12. Your charter school looks amazing. How are charter schools funded in your state?

I'm from the UK so we don't have team teacher's but what are team teachers is it were there are 2 teachers teaching at once or you teach half the week and she teaches the other so confused if someone can explain

Could you discuss your responsibilities as a team teacher? In my district, K used to be an AM class and a PM class. The AM teacher was the lead teacher in the morning with support from the other teacher for a portion of the morning, and then they switched. Now we don't have that anymore. The district has decided to have "co-teachers" in some schools where a special ed teacher is paired with a gen ed teacher and they "co-teach" in the same classroom at the same time with a mix of sped and gen ed kids. How does team teaching work in your district?
