Soooo, my husband and I actually planned our wedding before we were officially engaged 🙈🙈 We got engaged in the July and then had an elopement in January and announced our marriage to everyone at our “engagement” party in Feb! It was really fun. Personally I’d go for a short engagement! X
Current fiancé here as well! We actually got engaged a week after you guys! We’re 28 and have been together since we were 14 ( we were truly in no rush). We’re choosing fall 2025 to give us more room to plan and save (we do live in Toronto so wedding prices and venues are extremely expensive and competitive esp cuz we have a winter season). All our friends have had long engagements and loved it! Although my fiancé and I have literally been together forever, you only get your fiancé era ONCE in ur life! There is so much beauty in a long engagement - we’re currently using this time to work on our inner selves as we prep to be husband and wife. I do also want to mention we come from 2 traditional Filipino families so we did move in together much later on in our relationship so we still want to continue building a strong foundation for our marriage and ourselves. Anyways, trust your heart and intuition with the wedding date. Don’t stress over it cuz it will all falll into place the way it should. I also want to add that it’s been such a joy to share a fiancee era with you and hunter cha nine of my friends are engaged so I’m in this era alone and watching your blogs has made me feel like I have a friend during this time 😂 best wishes !

Yay first comment!! As someone who had a two year engagement, I 100% recommend it. My friends who got married quick actually wish they had a longer engagement season! You only get this phase once, enjoy it and don’t rush it 😊🫶🏼🥰

I had about a 3 month long engagement before we got married, which is SO short but honestly if I could go back, I wouldn’t change it at all! I think especially with how long you’ve been together / have been talking about getting engaged, it would make sense to have a shorter engagement! You could get so much done before September!! My dress wasn’t custom made and I know custom dresses can take months to be finished, so that could affect your date but I think the earlier you start on the dress the better! Whatever you decide will be amazing and I can’t wait to see your wedding content ❤
