You mean he's never tried them in front of a crowd. He talked about he and his teammates working on dunks as soon as he got the invite. No way he hadn't tried them before.
Every time he gets a chance to play in the NBA he does well, then they put him back in the G League. It's sad to see but I hope he stays with it. He's a good scorer and a pretty good passer not to mention a good ball handler. He's definitely a bench guy, but I could see him developing into a real scoring threat and someone who can cause some chaos for the other team's defense since he can block shots and crash the boards.
@@muddywood no he has a 33 inch vertical and again not impressive like you guys are acting like. The best dunk contest where Nique vs Jordan and Levine vs Gordon just to clarify!
@@PathtoYahawahHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA tf are you even saying lmao. Learn how vertical works, hes a 6’2 dude with the head almost at the rim, and he literally had a 43 inch vert MEASURED pre draft
My man Mac said he practiced for a month and a half straight for this contest. Held back at least 5 dunks. Kept the no look in reserve. He knew he could elevate himself to the NBA with a good performance. Crushed it.
There is no way he is 6’2 as well. He is for sure 6’1 tops most likely 6. Which is even more mind blowing. I know it says he is 6’2 , but look at him next to the nba guys
Brent Barry's dad is Rick Barry who was a Hall Of Fame player. Rick used to shoot his free throws underhanded. It was silly looking but he was pretty accurate with a career 90% percentage.
Wilt Chamberlain also shoot underhand shooting form too. He was so bad with freethrows using overhand shooting, that he needs to change his shooting style.
He averaged 89.3%, but half of the years he played he averaged over 90%. He’s 8th all time in career ft% and he’s the oldest player in the top 10. Free throws are a part of the game that didn’t age or change. Don’t matter what the form is, a pure shot is a pure shot. Gotta respect it.
All four dunks at a crazy hard level on the first try flawlessly. This is not only a commentary on his athleticism but also his ability to focus under immense pressure.
I remember a dunk contest where Jordan kilganon blew Shaq and Gary Payton's mind he was dunking in skinny jeans. Especially when he dunked over a car and I'm not talking about Blake Griffin did in his weak attempt because Jordan actually went over the highest part of the car
He was actually named G league rookie of the year last year and just signed a shoe deal with Puma a few days ago. You should do a reaction to some of his high school highlights.
I got addicted to watching his high school highlights. Y'all need to check out the videos of him in high school and watch him just wreck everyone around him.
I’m from gate city. Used to go watch him play in high school. The energy in that building when Mac played was unreal! We knew he was special. So glad the world is seeing it
I remember being at my dad's house as a kid watching the dunk contest Kobe won in 1997, I think, and my dad as a lifelong Lakers fan saying "it's a dunk contest but this kid is going to be a star." I have my doubts Mac is going to be a force in the NBA like that, but it's cool to see a young man make his mark in life winning something so cool. No matter anything, he can hold onto something like that forever. Hopefully he becomes a star in his own right.
I figured him for 6'3" but Google confirmed him at 6'1" Amazing athleticism! Mac McClure, if he stays healthy, will be a legend. A shocked Shaq was the highlight of this reel.
JRich was a beast in the dunk contest. One of my all-time favorites. I'm a sucker for a windmill dunk and he did some of the best windmills. He was short like Mac is so it made them even more impressive. I gotta go watch his dunks again
What makes Mac even crazier is he literally looks like the dude who is dropping your pizza off Friday night in high school and then winning the dunk contest on Saturday. That is awesome
ok hes white but to be fair checkout the high jumpers, tall but they can leap and they are white. only thing is do they have the panache of jordan? dont think so, but good on these white guys, theres still hope for me lol
The fact that he wears #9 like Andre Iguodala only did reminds of how Dre was robbed from his dunk contest by judges in favour of lil Nate who took like 80 attempts to complete his dunks. Nate's the reason they started to use timers since that contest with Iguodala smh...
I appreciate you guys covering the highlights for this. Legendary performance! You guys are my TOP 5 YT channels that I look out for. I check for new posts from you guys if not every day? At least every Other day! Love your channel & love all you guys character & personalities. Y'all some REAL ONES! NO Cap 🧢! Authentic & Genuine.
Mac's high school highlights put "Ball is Life" on the map !💯 He also broke all of Moses Malone's and Allen Iverson's high school records in Virginia on his way to the State Championship..🤯 EastBays in high school aint too shabby either..
I still remember when he played against my high school my senior year, he was the most hyped player anywhere around my area lmao. The whole place was absolutely packed to watch him play
I really like Mac. Watching him since high school. Broke A I's high school scoring record. Can shoot, penetrate defenses, pass well, and has great basketball iq.
@@Peamont they also forget he's not very tall either. He's got mad hops for a guy that's 6'2". Plus he almost didn't make through birth. Everyone is sleeping on him. And all the teams that he played for in the G league are gonna have major regrets. Mac all day!
He's only 6'2" and yet every dunk was: * Completed on the first try with zero hesitation, speed, and flash! * Two-handed with his head near the rim, and, * He barely even brushed against the people he jumped over! IMHO... This was the GOAT dunk contest performance in NBA history!
You guys are awesome. And... was young when I saw David Thompson play his first pro game (Denver). Was preseason. Came off the bench. Played the Supersonics. I will never ever forget, people were buzzing about his being signed to Denver. He ended up guarding Downtown Freddie Brown. Dude went to take an outside shot and the whole place froze. Did we just fuggin' see that? Then the whole place blew up with cheering. Thompson jumped out of nowhere and slapped the ball out of the court, up into the stands. Damn man... dude could skywalk. Which is where he got the name. Skywalker. We've got some skywalkers in history for sure. This McClung dude... who knows if he will stick in the pros. But damn, no question dude is a skywalker.
The only thing that kept this from being a great dunk contest was the lack of competition for him. Watch Gordon vs Levine if you want to see GREAT! Vince's first competition was superb, as was Spud Webb with MJ vs Dominique being the classic.
Mac is from my hometown area. I used to go watch him play at gate city high school in Virginia. That boy can do it all. We knew he was special! Glad the world is catching on!
Mac made the other dunkers look like JV players going up against Vince Carter by comparison. It literally looked like he was on another level, embarrassing amateurs.
That’s why it’s Mac history month. Let’s all celebrate. BTW Brett Barry won with his warm ups on. Tom Chambers owns one of the top in game dunks of all time.
He's 6'2", and his head was even with, if not slightly higher than, the rim. Doesn't that put him at about a 47" vertical jump? 46"? At least 45"? Is my math correct here? That just seems a bit crazy.
Gate City is in the middle of nowhere mountains of Southwest Virginia which is why no one has ever heard of it. Macs high school games were so hype you could barely fit in the gym. We went to different high schools in the same area, but it’s pretty awesome seeing someone from a small town make it big.
