So, some of you need to do some research before commenting. Similar jackets from higher-end companies are just as expensive (or more so) and are often not made in the USA. Please see the prices on gear from Arc'teryx (especially their LEAF line which would be comparable in its intended use), Patagonia, etc. Second, there are no "pit pockets;" those pit zips are for ventilation. Again, most professional mountaineering/outdoor jackets have that feature so you can ventilate the jacket without unzipping it in the front. Third, "waterproof" is often not desirable, especially when hiking or rucking. In order to be truly waterproof, the jacket cannot be breathable at all and so, if you exert yourself, you will end up soaking your clothes as you sweat because you lose all evaporative cooling. Put on a trash bag poncho, throw an overnight load into your backpack and then walk up the side of a mountain and you will see very quickly what I mean. Unless you intend to stand in the rain, water repellent is a better option. Does all this add up to $192 of value? It's your money and it's your call. If you are going to simply walk around town or do day hikes at your local park, probably not and there isn't anything wrong with that.

This is actually a really fair price for a usa made jacket. Go look at prices for windbreakers from northface and Patagonia etc. They're super expensive and made with modern day slave labor.

I work at a fabric finishing plant and in the past two months or so we’ve been applying dwr coating to at least 50% of all our fabric if not more. This stuff is seeing a gigantic demand.

I've had a coat like like for years it's called a US Gov issued cold weather parka same thing just less waste of pockets

You people seem to be poor as fuck. This jacket costs 300€ in Finland and you are whining for it costing ~160$ which is somewhere near 140-150€ range. I bought it yesterday, walked in a monsoon and it held pretty much all the water outside. I can safely say this jacket is worth the 300€ I paid for it and its even made in USA!
