Honestly I feel like it’s a big misconception that fischl’s parents were bad people but they were just parents literally just parents

I'm a little sad Fischl's story is unfortunately lesser known, because this is one of the most heartbreaking backstories I've heard for a minor side character like her. I really hope her past and character get some time in the spotlight this coming update, because I love her story. You nailed those names btw! 😆

As I was translating Fischl's German to English I stumbled across an interesting translation: Luftschloss means "flying castle" when combined with other words, such as "Fischl von Luftschloss Narfidort" meaning "Fischl of the Flying Castle Narfidort", but taken in isolation it is an expression that means "pipe dream". Even her German has sad meanings.

It arrived at the end of time and space, when all destinies disappear and where all universes collapse!! The imperial Prinzessin der Verurteilung, her Darknessgowned Highness Fischl von Luftschloss Narfindort witnessed the exaltation of her retainers and got her hands on the cries of hope and the tears of joy of the thankful damned souls that she, the Prinzessin of the Immernachtreich, has the duty to guide towards the day of the final calamity! Oz: He means... finally, mein Fraulein got the attention and the ever upstanding narration she deserves.

"My proud daughter, you shall never surrender your nobility and dreams." "It's fun to make believe, but eventually you need to grow up and put your childish dreams behind you." Her dad taught her to stand up for herself and never surrender her dreams. When she was older, he then told her to do exactly what he taught her not to do: surrender her dreams. Fischl, maintaining her "noble" pride, had decided to hold onto her dreams, no matter how childish, and she's not about to change that. There's also a sense in which the Electro element is perfect for her, in just how closely she aligns with Ei's idea of Eternity. She wants to not grow up, and is afraid of the change that doing so would bring. She would rather remain in her fantasy, for Eternity. (Or at least until she does decide to grow up if and when that happens.) Edit: "Perhaps my pursuit of Eternity is nothing more than a form of escapism" - More About Ei: IV While Archons don't give Visions personally, their perception of their ideal does seem to influence who get's a Vision for their element.

I have the feeling that the upcoming 2.8 event will give Amy a character development. From the trailers she seems really, REALLY into the whole 'this is MY Domain' thing but I think that after an innocuous and silly beginning it will become more 'dangerous' so to speak and she will be forced to admit that no, playing is fun but it's not always better than reality. I really hope that her true name will be 'unredacted' in her Character Story and letters, at least.

Fischls story is so misunderstood and tragic. It’s one of the most real stories in Genshin and just sad. It’s honestly heartbreaking.

I remember reading this for the first time and not expecting much. I was crying by the end

Fischl has become one of my favorite main characters ever. She has good parents and they still live, has her best friend Oz the magical raven, has electric powers her backstory in my opinion its hearthwarming she's awesome. Lots of protagonists in Genshin are great for me, but just a few of them becomes part of my favorite protagonists in fantasy.😊

Personally I’m happy that Fischl has gained power and independence through her roleplay. Sure she was granted an electro vision and Oz so technically she’s gained power in a measurable sense, but she’s also become an investigator for the adventurers guild and is quite capable with a bow. Thanks to her investigator role she’s met the traveler and Mona, surely Bennett as well and she’s gonna be meeting up with Kazuha and Xinyan soon! And her independence grows as she’s still reliant on Oz for some talking but she’s gotten better about interacting with people in general. While she may embody eternity through her daydreams, she can always keep “Princess Fischl” close to her heart as she grows up. A persona to wield during the darkest times and pull strength from. But I’m certain she’ll be alright. Oz may be “Fischls” familiar, but he was Amy’s friend first and I think he’s patiently playing the game until she’s ready to grow up, at her pace.

People are talking about how the parents acted in the story and it is important but... There is a very critical missing piece to this story. Trope wise, Oz showing up should be a happy situation, the being that starts the current quest and rescues the hero from their worse fate. So saying that the events that happened after Oz showed up is the most painful part of the story, so bad she can't even express it when everything else could be told makes me really wonder what actually happened. Is this just a story of a girl with a new persona because she doesn't like the old, or is there even an 'old world' for her to return to. Genshin is more than happy to take a silly simple concept and give it a dark twist.

I feel like its okay to dream and fantasize abit. Daily life is hard and exhausting, and when i finally have the chance to put it all down and close the door behind me after i stepped into my room, that little room becomes my little fantasy world. Her story reminds me of the pain and loneliness I have felt before. I hate to think about it. Because when I do, hot tears will follow soon after, and as I grab a scapel and hold it against my wrist, i close my eyes, and press down, savoring every last bit of pain, the pain that dulled the one in my heart, and gave me a moment of calmness, and from the corner of my lips, i smiled.

Fischl probably has the most grounded backstory out of everyone in Genshin

I just feel Amy is too caught up for her Fischl persona too much. It's cute, but I do hope one day she sees that one day it's gonna hurt her and everybody else one day. Maybe not in this upcoming event, but just a little bit. But if Oz was manifested from her own desires, I don't think anyone can take that away from her. If she grows up, she'll probably lose Oz as well.

I hope one day they will make a story event with her, she deserve to evolve and believe still to be the princess and have her faithful friends. So a cool character they have here.

You know there's this manga page the Houkai Impact, jp version of Honkai impact, posted back in Genshin Honkai collaboration. Somebody translated it and it was about the Honkai characters cheering for Fischl because of her cosplay. Fischl then goes: "These people seem to know how cool I am"

This is literally a story of a parent telling their child to grow up lol. It’s great that she’s able to keep up the Fischl act though! It makes me think… is Mona gonna hammer this in her head during the event? About being Fischl and not Amy.

I think fishy’s parents are ok but when your child is grieving you don’t tell them to grow up and get over it. Tell them later in a better time. She no longer feels supported anymore. Just support your child.

The best part of this story is that Fischl achieved her dream because her dad said to stop pursuing it.

Fischl’s character is so absurdly good. Honestly think she’s one of the best characters I’ve ever seen. She’s based on the child shut-in archetype. Chyuunibyou archetype. Literary woman archetype. Foreign obsessed archetype. Little girl that wants to be a princess archetype. Eccentric prodigy of a family archetype. Goth archetype. Arguably tsundere. The storybook of Fischl is fascinating and may be real and have huge lore implications. Her companion is fascinating and plays into her character and become an iconic duo. As well as having a wildly entertaining personality giving to a wildly entertaining dynamic. She’s so interconnected with the world. The way she got her vision is endlessly fascinating and drive theories. Her psyche is endlessly fascinating to the community and lots of people have very different opinions on her. But in any case it makes her a hugely complex character. The debate of whether Oz is a real being could go on endlessly. Her design is so iconic and flashy and instantly communicates her personality so well. And her story is so good. The story of her crying alone in the library when Oz suddenly appeared with her vision, and since then she’s been living to her own identity to its fullest every day is so wonderful. Who hasn’t felt dejected and rejected and alone? And the story of finding a friend and learning to love yourself and be confident and live your life to its fullest is wonderful. There’s just so much one could say about Fischl.

I feel bad for Fischl. While there is nothing wrong with having an active imagination or even an inner child, you cannot rely on escapism and fantasy all the time to distract you from a painful reality. Sometimes you have to face reality no matter how boring or painful it may be. I love that Fischl is brave enough to be herself and express herself how she likes no matter what people think, but in order to be successful, everyone has to grow up or mask certain parts of themselves.

Tbh I don't like her. I find her annoying and i dread 2.8 events coz I don't wanna hear her or interact with her. She is everything I don't like in teenagers: self-absorbed, know-it-all, cringey. But it's funny to see different perspectives -- some people are charmed by her and relate to her.
