At least it went down fighting and didn't just instantly give up like most fish! Honor to that fish. Amazing footage too, it's probably pretty rare to see a egret/heron swallow a fish alive enough to do this in the neck, you'd have to wait around lakes and ponds for ages to see this I bet.
Amazing capture! That looked like a big fish caught and staring down its captors throat! I wonder , wouldn't a fish that size stand any slim chance of escaping or even damaging (that wriggling, biting, etc.) the birds stomach if eaten in that condition?! Hard to imagine the fish would succumb to becoming lunch and the egret could keep it down.
Oh fascinating! So the fish here (if eaten live) had no chance at all? If gulped down, I would think the pretty big fish would be scrambling to turn around inside the elastic gullet/stomach? The bird must be pretty determined and real hungry! Evan at the start wouldn't the acids make the fish more frantic and be trying it's best to escape becoming entombed inside?! You have some other cool vids too, keep it up! ;)
What a wus we humans are. We choke to death if the smallest fish bone gets lodged in our throats, but these birds can literally have a whole fish stuck, and moving about, in their throats and they keep right on with life just the same. Those birds understand eventually the fish will go down in time.
And now, having put up a phenomenal effort, the fish can now be slowly dissolved with stomach acid while still living, at least in the time it takes to asphyxiate.
I don't see how that goes against intelligent design. I don't believe in the intelligent design idea; but if one does, it simply means that God created them to eat in that way. If you believe God directly designed and created nature, you can't look at the way nature works without becoming convinced that God is not at all concerned about the cruelty of it.
I know 🤣 I came out on to my patio and it was happening. No time for tripods or getting my balance. I agree it’s awful footage but I still found it interesting to see.
@@WatchShareGive You're right, it was really fascinating to watch... unless you're a gopher! But i've tripped on too many gopher holes to have any sympathy for those guys. And modern cameras are amazing, but they can't always tell what exactly to focus on - it's s blessing and a curse at the same time. And sometimes the viewfinder is so stinking small, you can't really tell what's in focus and out of focus. Nonetheless, cool video - good shooting! Thanks.
