On the dryer vent..... Ditch the flex tubing, it catches the lint and crap. Instead just get the round HVAC ducting that is the same diameter as your dryer exhaust. Run it pretty much directly to your exterior vent. The metal elbows are easy to install. Just screw them together. Easy peasy.

What a great room and a clean start with it, every fishkeepers dream/nightmare. I have my fish tank in the cupboard under the stairs and my project since the start of lockdown has been to convert it to a mini fish room. I am no closer to starting work than I was when covid hit

The midea 35 pint smart dehumidifier does a pretty good job for my basement and tanks. I currently have it set at 40 percent and I have about 30 tanks.

ps the material the wire is made of is only an issue where it connects to the receptacle. Add 12 inches of solid copper where it connects and you're good. (not an electrician so verify)

I'm looking at what your doing and thinking about what I can do with the shanty wish to turn into a fish room. Seeing it be built from scratch is a plus. My dehumidifier stops when the filters are clogged. It’s the type that has an internal pump so it doesn’t rely on gravity to drain the water.

Great to see you are taking care since the incident. Have you maybe looked into the shelving from Home Depot or Lowe’s? I have a couple, the big heavy duty one might be too heavy for you but a 36” rack could hold a bunch of 10s? Just a thought if your impatient. All the best and happy new year

that was my concern as well the minute I saw it, huge red flag for long term usage. I don' t know that much about building but I've had the red bricks crack pretty easily with just a little pressure. idk if it was a fault with manufacturing or if they just aren't made to be weight bearing for long term.

@@MichaelsFishRoom In my personal limited experience the manufacturing process has been inconsistent. I have some red bricks that are strong AF and others that crumble if you sneeze at them.

Bricklayer here, please lay those red bricks flat if you're able to. That's how they're designed for compressive strength, they're much weaker on the side like that and easily snap. Things are looking good, same for you, would hate to see a hiccup spoil your progress.

I think it’s a kohler. I went to a plumbing supply house and explained what I wanted (a thermo mixing valve for a shower) and explained what I was doing, and he said this is what you want. Just make sure you get the right ends. (Sweat/pex)
