Whoa- I felt that shiver run down my spine when Cory made eye contact with me 😳🤣 Why do I have the sudden urge to buy some new Co-Op products??? 🤣🤣 I am not a professional breeder by any means, but I think all of the fish you breed are amazing!
@Aquadiction
@Aquadiction Год назад
Haha! 😂 thanks Audra, I don’t consider us good breeders, would LOVE to have more time to spend on RU-vid and breeding more fish but times scarce right now 😞! Plus breeding for profit in the UK is not what it is in the UK lol it’s hard to give them away here for some reason! Shame really, puts you off

Thank you for part 2 - been waiting! Questions: Can you leave the outdoor ponds at all intact through winter? I've heard that the water lily will grow back from it's bulb. Also- I always thought one had to soak decapsulated brine shrimp eggs before feeding. Am I wrong? I saw you just throw them in dry, which of course is easier :)

Hi Stefan, excluding getting the guppies in (and shrimp) we will be leaving everything outside this year all winter! We always leave the Lilly’s out and they always bounce back bigger and stronger the next year! I’ve never soaked the brine shrimp in the 3 years since we found it and never had a issue with fry or adult fish….. maybe you know something we don’t? Lol but like I saw never had a problem and they all LOVE it

Your Staeck Endlers are really coming along well. I noticed that most of the males have two spots on their bodies. That's something I'm working as well. Some of my males have a faint snakeskin pattern on them as well. I may work on that trait next, once I the two spot body pattern is more consistent. Looking forward to the next update on some of your guppy and Endler crosses.

Thanks for the comment, support and feedback on how your doing with yours bud! It’s a really hard trait to nail down but we’ll worth trying for for sure 👌

Hi I checked your website and I saw the GH. My water is 196 parts per million, what is my GH and TDS? Thank you. I love your site hehe
@Aquadiction
@Aquadiction Год назад
You could say your GH is approximately 10.95 10.95 dGH. If the 196 ppm is a TDS reading, then it's a measure of total dissolved solids, including GH but also all other ions, and you can't directly determine GH from that alone really :) Thanks for the comment bud, really glad your a fan of the site, big plans for that under development still!! :)

Can you put a net or screen across your ponds? Next season? or the loss isn't that big? Your Endlers are coming along nicely, very pretty. I would think the catfish are eating your shrimp; my corydoras eat anything that doesn't move fast enough away from them (except snails, I wish they'd eat snails). Take care, be well
@Aquadiction
@Aquadiction Год назад
That’s interesting regarding your Corydora, hadn’t thought about them but I have seen the big king tiger pleco hover up an algae wafer with a ton of shrimp as a topping a few times 😞! Might have to look into netting but really hoped we wouldn’t go that way as it’s a bit unsightly, but might have 2

Your plecos are just gorgeous! I had a stunning flowy plain ole longfin large bristlenose with no bristles in my 75g community tank and thought she might like to breed last year, so I bought what was clearly a big male. Turns out my flowy one is also a male and grew plenty of bristles only after I added the other to the tank - now they are both full of bristles. One of them has dug out a huge cave under some large rocks. One of them clearly thinks hope springs eternal! Loving your Staeck and other endlers still. So happy with my Staecks - so many males in the last 2 fry batches.

Thanks for the comment and continued support Vikki! Love the plecos, sooo great for glass algae, it’s the only aquarium we don’t have to clean the glass in, dunno if you have the same experience? May consider getting one for each aquarium just to reduce the maintenance each week
@vikkirountoit497
@vikkirountoit497 Год назад
@@Aquadiction Yep same experience - and already dealing with fish poo so a little more from a single pleco is an ok trade in my tanks for zero glass maintenance:)
@Aquadiction
@Aquadiction Год назад
@@vikkirountoit497 how do you find they are with plants, we want to move to more plants going forward but have heard bad things about the bristlenose plecos and plants excluding the starlight?
@vikkirountoit497
@vikkirountoit497 Год назад
@@Aquadiction I do have planted tanks and the only issue for me over years with various bristlenose plecos is replanting things they have unearthed or covered when digging their own cave - that's been very little actually. (I don't breed them though so not sure how a posse of them would affect plants.) I do have rocks so have to make sure they are not able to topple them if digging nearby. At no size or age have my bristlenose plecos ever affected plants in my tanks beyond their limited cave digging. They get a thumbs up for me. Will be curious to see if you ever have plant issues with them.
@vikkirountoit497
@vikkirountoit497 Год назад
@@Aquadiction Really thought I replied to this already, so apologies if this is a duplicate answer! I have had zero problems with plecos and my planted tanks OTHER than if they decide to dig their own caves. At which point they often dig out one or two plants and I replant those elsewhere, and/or they cover up one or 2 plants with substrate they dug out, and I replant those elsewhere. Beyond that, I have had no issues with my bristlenose plecos affecting, accosting, abraiding or anything else other than relaxing on or under them:) I do let them eat the glass clean and I add to diet with various sinking tabs. There's rocks and wood in the tank for them to eat algae off of, and I haven't fed veggies, so maybe mine have not developed a taste for juicy greenery? In fact, I notice that on my large anubia leaves, there is spot algae they are not even trying to eat, so maybe this is working against me as they are really really not trying to damage my leaves. Ultimately, I hope you have don't have any issues with your plecos and your plants.
