These guys aren't just a ska band.Their music has had everything in it like jazz, funk, swing, soul, metal, punk, and ska! If you are having a bad day just put on some fucking FISHBONE!
🎭 I was Angelo's ( the Singer ) Merch guy ( did his Shirts & stuff ) - He is a Hustler that didn't own a vehicle , took the Train to get around ... NoDoubt are my friends & we all admired FBone 🐠
Amazing, I always thought Angelo is one of the greatest frontmen ever. In fact the only one I can think of with the same wild yet focused energy is David Lee Roth, but Angelo has more substance.
Totally agree! I was down in 1987 and have seen them more than a few times. And saw them on the "Give A Monkey....." tour stop when half their band was "not able to be at the show" sad story to me, they were losing their brother to mental issues. But what an amazing, exuberant, and original plus savagely underrated musical family Fishbone is...just really one of the great things in life, is Fishbone! What!???
@@sadetwizelve I mean it's all subjective...but I'd say YES, Fishbone is more interesting and eclectic than DMB. Of course this is opinion. People can like what they want.
Not only is this song amazing but the lyrics are dead on. A song about how the world just constantly beats you down, Changes who you wanted to be into who you are. That's why I love this band they didn't change for anyone.
Unyielding Conditioning Tune out from all that`s happening Nobody deserves empathy Nobody feels for me We`ve all been trained by our worlds I cannot see no one but me No one can feel my emptiness Everybody must fend for themselves There is no openness We`ve all been claimed by our worlds [X2] But I have heard of ways That say there`s light beyond the darkness And everyone can keep their children warm And togetherness will guide us safely Through all Storms Unyielding Conditioning Remove all trace of memory No one needs justice anymore No voices raised in anger We`ve all been tamed by our worlds [X2] But I have heard of ways Where people topple all injustice No one lives their lives on bended knees And all bigotry is like a disease Drowned in the sea And all can hold their head up high!
High school memories, man. Fishbone, chili peppers, sublime, beck, pixies, Radiohead, Pearl jam, I could go on and on... Not even including my parents showing me incredible greats like steely Dan, Zeppelin, pink floyd, Nick Drake, Fitzgerald, Sinatra, blossom dearie, eagles, Beatles, I could go on and on about that as well. I'm grateful for my era of extraordinary music/musicians. ❤
I saw them around 1993 and that was one of the best shows I've ever saw in my life, and I've seen a lot of bands. I put that show in my top 3 best live shows ever!. A lot of people that I spoke to after that show said it was their favorite live show too. Everyone that was there had a blast!
Such a GREAT and positive song. I LOVE Fishbone so much. They are actually the first band I ever truly got heavy into. On top of that they put on a killer show. Seen them 3 times and loved them every time. They literally put on the best concert I've ever been to period! It's the bone of fish and they be bitchin big time in a great way. I love how their concerts and music bring everyone together no matter who they are.
true story. Went to my first Fishbone show in Mill Valley 2010 or so. . Got their so early . .Sitting outside smoking a join when their van pulls up .. Long story short, I wound up getting high with Fishbone. . i'll never forget it .Such cool and down to earth guys! . .
It's actually Kendall Jones who did the solos on Servitude and Unyielding Conditioning. He also wrote both songs too. Kendall was gone from the group by the time they did this video..
My friend sent me a clip of audio from 106.3 FM Staunton VA and it was the end of this song. Caught my ear and then I responded. Can’t miss this tune! Fkn gold
It's hard to say which is better, the wonderful music or the thought. The music is here now while we work on the idea, "Everyone can keep their children warm." Seems we need to do so much better. Thanks for the music, though. It helps.
Remember catching these guys at the Camden Underworld, i think a few years ago now and they went down a storm, even though they are getting on a bit but then again aren't we all. Have seen them on two other occasions both times they were on fire they were so hot. Next time they play the UK gonna still make it my mission to go out and still show nuff love and support for these guys. Genuine talent!
Jedno z najlepszych SKA jakie słyszałem. Wykonanie , ciekawość, aranżacja, pomysł, BIT :), " wpadające w ucho",połączenie rytmów no i oczywiście FISHBONE ! Wspaniała muza na każdą imprezę :) :) :)

Just recently (not even a month ago) got into Fishbone. Already becoming one of my favorite bands, of any subgenre. Should check out a documentary they are featured in called Electric Purgatory, it was really good. Angelo and Spacey are in interviewed a couple times.
The lyrics are remarkably good in this song, and oddly enough somewhat distressing. Perhaps like me you might realize there is a lot of truth to them, yet at the same time it's not something you have considered at great length.
The lyrics are written by Kendall Jones who left the band shortly after the release of this album to follow some Christian group. So, I understand that the lyrics are inspired by his Christian beliefs. Even the brass instruments are biblical (Ps 98,6).
