Hello, please, I'm looking for an expert on Fisher & Paykel gas ranges. I had a nagging question that no one could answer about the Fisher Paykel Classic and Contemporary ranges. Some ranges I saw had scroll feet and some had the wedge feet? Why? I even talked to someone in New Zealand last night who could not provide me an answer. Well, I just got the answer after days of research. All Fisher Paykel ranges come with the scroll feet. The wedge look is just a cover that surrounds the scroll feet. Why wasn't anyone able to answer this simple question? I had other questions too. Why is there a hob rail on the Classic line. Is it just decorative or is it functional? Also, the door seal on the Classic line and Contemporary line are different. On the Classic range the door seal is the thick woven seal that most of us are used to. On the Contemporary line the door seal is thin rubber. Have you seen the RU-vid video where a lady measures the oven temperature above the door on the Contemporary range? It's a hot 175º! Apparently the maximum heat loss for safety is 170º. These things matter. Because all salesman want to make a sale they will not talk about the problems that may arise. I am still trying to figure out ultimately which is a better, more reliable Fisher Paykel range, the OR36SCG4X1 or the OR36SDG4X1? It's not about looks for me. I need reliability. Also, on Fisher Paykel's website, they say that the OR36SDG4X1 has "True Convection". From what I understand True Convection is only offered on their dual fuel ranges, not their gas ranges, but it's listed as standard on their all-gas Contemporary range. I've been told that this is not true.

David thanks for this info. I feel like there’s not much out there on F&P. Which range did you end up with and would you recommend Fisher and Paykel or another brand altogether?

We LOVE Fisher & Paykel's induction cooking systems and are happy to see them gaining popularity in the south where FBS is located! Reliability is hard to put a number on since FBS is not an appliance servicer, but we can speak heavily to their customer support when problems do arise. Fisher & Paykel has local service reps (in Houston) that work directly for the manufacturer - this means the people coming out to address any issues know the products front to back, and aren't guessing at how to solve a problem. Their team also communicates frequently with our Warranty Assistance team so that when issues do appear, they're addressed as quickly as possible.

But she has no upper lip Kev.. she's literally missing a whole lip. I mean don't get me wrong... She's Hot for sure, but "stunningly beautiful"? Ehhh...
