If it wasn't a white do they still catch and release? And it shouldn't be allowed at all. The survival rate on sharks caught and released is extremely low. There body releases a massive amount of a certain chemical (i forgot the name) under the stress and most take off appearing ok, but it kills them w in hours. Blue sharks have a decent survival rate, but most others shark species don't. What's the point of what they are doing? Im asking because I don't know.
How about do your research before making yourself look stupid. When you use proper release procedures the survival rate for sharks is very high. Theres a reason florida requires that shark fishermen take a course and obtain a permit before being allowed to fish for sharks.
This shark was released however, a 13ft 1500lb pregnant female just washed up at the same beach Friday. She was dead with fishing gear in her mouth on the same side as this one. I hope it’s not the same shark. I thought they had to release them immediately once they realize they’ve hooked a GW. I know some work with F&G and place tags but I didn’t see one placed on this shark. 😢
@@jencov0412She ended up being 15’1” was close to 30 years old and was still immature. Just seen a post from the marine biologist who did her necropsy. They won’t release the cause of death until they 100% officially. I hope it wasn’t the same shark either. Absolutely sad. Those fishermen were trying to catch a white shark.
