Just before the Kentucky Lake Tour Event I also fished the Bass Eastern Open on Lake Norman. Check out what went down at that event in this video. Make sure you like and Subscribe! ~B.Lat
Great video and breakdown of the days. It’s nice to see a pro lay it out there and not just get the typical “I caught giants all day”. I don’t know about everyone else, but it’s nice to see the real grind of tournament life. Thank you.
Talk about a "love-hate relationship .... I love my spots but man do they grow slowly. Makes me wonder sometimes where all those short fish go when the do finally get to keeper size. Thanks for sharing. I learn something from every one of your videos. And, you always show the good and the not so good. Thank you.
I enjoy your how you keep your cool and maintained a positive attitude. Great videos! !! I learn a lot from your content . Enjoy watching you fish keep the hustle going bro.
I'm seeing that too. I fish river system and I'm seeing now the bigger fish on the main river channels, outside of the spawning beds. Leaving the males on the beds to guard. During a tournament Saturday I caught 2 males in back lakes leading from main river channels. Buzzbait picked up a few huge bass. That wrapped me around logs. (Knocking slack in my line), if you know what I mean as far as big bass goes.
Interesting regional differences. Part of your thought process mirrors the approach we take here on the west coast that says spots school together by size and if you catch too many small fish change locations. One other thing we also do is change presentations to target "larger" fish i.e. throw a jig or reaction to reduce the number of very small fish bites and get more casts in for a larger bite. (not that small spots won't attack baits bigger than themselves) Great video.. (I have to admit I started watching your videos because I am considering a Falcon but now I enjoy your videos for you as well)
Always enjoy your videos. I like the way you explain your thought process. Can you please explain how you determine boat position? How far or how close to be to your target? Sounds simple but there has to be something that determine how close or far you need to be. Thanks
B.Lat, Great rundown so you know the bigger fish are their so where did they go? Did you talk with any other anglers to get an inclination of where the bigger fish were setting up?
Already been said but I live about 25 mins from Blythe Landing...great lake for tourneys as it is really big and can handle the tournament pressure...i take my daughters there with a shaky head and its a good time...
Were you fishing above or below the 150 bridge? I have found the bigger fish are above the hwy 150 bridge but I catch more numbers below the bridge Just curious about what you found
My home lake and its full of spots but its also full of shad and blueback herring they were just up the river and the hot weather really pushed the bigger fish out deep
Brian Latimer Haha your right! I'm working on it man. My goal for next year is to fish as a co-angler in as many events as I can afford. Adversity is dope! But my current boat isn't dope lol it's ok for my club though..
Brian, your on the verge of making a pay check every tournament. I watch you closely, every event you miss the cut by two or three pounds. Keep at it, and just go fishing bud!! I'm sure the big established names, have the resources to have pre-tournament practice partners.
Brian Latimer SOOOOOO....... I'm trying to comprehend this. The lake has bluegill and shell crackers. Why not throw a bluegill or shellcracker type bait. Square bill or chatterbait?? Something that goes toward their natural eating habits. Maybe a worm style or ned rig or TRD is catching those lil ones. But as we know BIG FISH TAKE A LIL LONGER TO ENTICE. BUT WHY NOT USE BRIM OR BLUEGILL TYPE BAITS IF THATS THEIR NATURAL EATING HABIT?
Brian Latimer this the thing......I have tried it. Oh it works. Location I'd have to say is key. But you were right on with filtering thru fish. I was asking why you didnt try it? Was it something you saw that made you not throw it. I saw the Kentucky video...... You did throw it. And you got good results but the second day fell off. Which happens.....But do you think there is a better way to extend those first day results on that body of water?
