You’re very correct… I need to put that PFD on in those situations - and more often in general. Thanks for the comment and info. Hoping to get back out to that area at some point ahead. Hopefully more videos soon as well. Trout bite closer to home should be picking up in next few weeks.

Because I was trolling a good bit, I went with a slightly heavier jig head - 1/4 oz. instead of the usual 1/8 oz. The jigs were mostly DownSouth jigs - dark body with chartreuse tail. Just trolling slowly - about 2mph and dragging it along in about 4 to 7’ of water. 20lb braid with a 12lb fluorocarbon leader. Much prefer casting, but the trolling helped me cover more water and find them, then could cast an area after finding them. Great area there along those rocks! Thanks for watching! Good luck.

@@ThePentUpAngler I ended up picking up a nucanoe pursuit for $225 off Facebook from a guy down in Des Allemands. I'll have it done and ready for this upcoming weekend. Can't wait to get out on the water, my 6 year old son is pumped too.
