That was insane! Didn't know you could just jig a fly like that with a spinning rod. You should bring a Tenkara rod next time. It looks so much fun. And that Brook trout is absolutely STUNNING. As a 55 year old man I have this advice. Don't wait til you are older. Find a place near you that you can fish now. Fish it all the time. Take any chance you can go with anyone that would take you and learn how they fish. Most of all have fun.

The reason I believe the fish were near the lilies is something my grandfather taught me, green is good. If there's green vegetation in or near the water then that area is highly oxygenated which is verry good for fish. Also the lilies provide great cover for a fish. Keep up the great work.

One of the first things I learned as a fly fisherman was to point the rod behind me while bushwhacking rather than trying to ‘steer’ it through the bush. The rod will follow you and is less likely to catch a bush. Great video, very well done. Love your channel.

I have been using power bait for 20+ years. I recommend using the garlic power eggs over the dough. Red color or orange for your location. Love your videos!!!
