Went fishing with my dad and my nephews over the weekend and threw together a little video for the family.

It's been almost 2 years since this and the next video explaining creativity. Every time I'm stuck in a creative hole or spiral of "I'm never going to create again" or "anything I create has no meaning" I come back to these, as well as "Reminder To Take A Break". Something about seeing and hearing other artists creative processes and struggles really helps to ground me in my own moments and I'll forever be grateful for these types of videos. Coming back to these now in a time where I feel so stagnant and stepping away from my environment and social media with my own family is refreshing

Something about this pond reminds me deeply of a place I used to go hiking in college. You’d never see the trail, never even know it was on the other side of a thin yet dense line of trees next to a less than special council estate. Top of a huge plateau with no one around, trees as far as you could see, and even with the one motorway in sight, you couldn’t hear a car to save your life. It was peaceful and filled to brim with tadpoles at a volume I’d thought only possible in children’s fairytale books. Thanks for taking me back.

loved this 🥹 you captured beautifully the smaller moments in life that we live for. that peaceful environment where you forget your problems and just live in the moment w the people you love. it’s these moments w our family/loved ones that bond us forever and are usually our most cherished memories. this reminded me of my family’s annual weekend-long camping trips, they’re some of the best memories i have. thanks for this, always enjoy your content ! you never fail to put out amazing things rick 🖤

Documenting life from celebrating milestones to ordinary moments to share is a beautiful gift for your loved ones to have. Especially when it’s done so well! Your family & friends are lucky to have a pro to capture them. My dad always had a camera when we were young. I have very few photos of him because he preferred to “be behind the camera”, and I treasure them. So, I’m glad you’ve included yourself. Now, I collect all those memories. And, yeah, I do hand my camera over. :)

Not one time anywhere did I imply this video was supposed to be humorous. Nor did I try to push any sort of anti animal sentiment. Actually, if you watched, you’d get that from the tone of the video. Also, every fish caught was returned back to the water. Sorry you were offended!
