Insane the power of this little guy. The important thing you noted is playing through something that inspires you to play. Really hard to get that nowadays I feel like. Big thing is the live travel aspect of it as well. Hoping to have one of these in the future!

I am coming from Boss Katana and Helix and I can tell you I never thought that a amp modeller can make my ears happy ..is so easy to make it sound very very good..lile the guy in the video said some amps I don't need to do nothing..sounds amazing straight out of the box. But my advide is don't try it trhu Headrush FrFr..as I did in the store and I was so close not to get it..but I saw so many videos about QC and I was sure that it sounded bad in the store because of the FFR At home I use studio Monitors and is amazing😍

@@Nicolae8607I use a real guitar cab and my amp’s return fx. It’s the best modeler I’ve had. Sold Kemper and helix. It has the feel and the sound. The best UI. Not tied down to a computer. It’s fun to fool with. I still love my amps and pedals. They’re staying. I haven’t had that many yrs with them and I intend to enjoy them. But the quad is right after them.

I had the same exsperience with the kemper. Except I actually went from a Kemper rack mount to a Pod Go. I lost quite a bit of money in the deal just cause I had to take a loss to sell the Kemper. and people went nut asking if I was crazy or something. And my answer to them was, yeah, I'm bat shit crazy. so what does that make a person who will keep gear because he can get more pieces of green paper for it? You ought to take it from me since I'm nuts, but I think that shit it a far worse offense to human intellect. See, cause I don't buy any musical equipment for a monetary investment. I dont care how many dolalrs I get out of something, I only care about how much creativity I can get out of it and how inspired am I. Now, I hardly think Kemper is a bad product at all. however I look at this video, I recall my experience and I also consider many artists that I respect who do who do still use Kemper and it all seems to fit the idea that I came up with a left camper. and that is Kemper's a great piece of gear and it will inspire you if you already had an amp that was inspiring to you. because his main job was to reproduce the preexisting sound. however if you were trying to create your own sound it is very limiting because when you move any knob on the camera that's associated that's associated to the anterior affects whatever it may be, those changes don't represent what the changes would be like in real life because the Kemper doesn't know what to do what a 5150 would the mid scooped out Sounds like unless you profile a 5150 with Nizkel. you couldn't possibly know other variables and factors of every single amp that's been profiled So creating tone it was much more difficult if somebody had not profiled the sound that you wanted spot on right from the start. the helix was made to consider all those variables as you move the knobs in the quad cortex does that end You take a step further because it also does with the Kemper does. I've since stepped up to the helix LT But God knows I wish I had the money for the Cortex because I would have loved to get one of those. However, I am far from bombed about anyone of these three because I think about what I was playing through before I got the Kemper in it's hard to feel bad at this point because my setup is far superior to anything I would have ever thought I would have been able to afford before

If you’re not going to use a profile and just use amp modeling the axefx is way superior in modeling and effects. It’s also a 100 times more complicated to use. 😂. I had the QC and sold it after a couple months because it was just too far behind the Helix and axefx. I’m sure it’s way better now but I didn’t want to wait a year for it to catch up. I always thought your Kemper profiles tone was pretty awesome . the Kemper is so old an frustrating to use but I still have one and sold all the other stuff because I profiled all my amps.

This thing looks awesome! I picked up NeuralDSP's Archetype Petrucci plugin over Black Friday, and the quality of the out-of-the-box presets blew me away. Something about the response (I'm guessing there's some machine learning modelling happening there) felt like nothing I'd really experienced from an amp sim before. I just used the "Heavy Rhythm" preset for like a week without changing anything. The transpose feature has also been game-changing for me. I can just leave my Strat in E standard/drop D and my 7 string RGD in B standard /drop A and reliably play anything from drop F to E standard. No more whacky string gauges to enter metalcore breakdown territory.

Sweetwater is selling Quad Cortex with a free Plug In "Soldano SLO-100 Amp and FX Suite Software". They are different products: the plug in you use on your computer, etc. But I was wondering: is there a difference between the two Soldanos - the plug in and the one that comes standard on the Quad Cortex? I ask because, the Soldano plugin and it's effects already comes with Quad Cortex. So other plugins would be more interesting gifts - Petrucci's, for example.

I know it's not my opinion you want, but I'd definitely say this unit can work for everyone. Beginner to Professional musician. I'd just be sure that you REALLY are into guitar because it's a lot of money to spend on something you may end up not using in a years time. That being said, as a beginner that doesn't tour, gig or record music. You'd be fine getting a high gain combo amp for a few hundred $$ instead of over thousand. But if you've got that money to burn, I'd absolutely get one of these! The variety of Amp tones will keep you going for ever.

Ah the quad cortex has arrived, nice! Its funny to hear that it feels so natural because that is what most kemper user say about the kemper itself. That it has the most "real amp feeling" because of the exact profiling aspect. I'm a Line6 Helix user so far, but every time I see that kind of vids I am kicked haha. I am excited to see if the QC becomes your new live equipment. Would be glad to see more vids like that, more gear/guitar talk and maybe some riffing. Ok, enough babbling.

The Kemper never felt like an amp nor did the helix. Both needed help with pedals for feel and sound. Just never used them and was tired of having spent so much and not using them. I love the quad. They got the feel and sound down and the workflow is easy. The UI is great too. Set it and forget it.

@RickyOlson
