We were fortunate to be able to take a quick summer trip from Cantwell to Paxson on Alaska's scenic Denali Highway. The views were spectacular and the fishing was a blast!

My wife and I (before she was my wife) made the same trip in 1997. We were in a class c rented motorhome. We weren't supposed to be there. It was extremely corrugated! It was the trip of a lifetime! This brought back a lot of memories. Thanks, I really like your channel.

I sit here living my crappy lower 48 life, shut in my house worrying about coronavirus, not seeing my family, and riots, and hurricanes, and wildfires, and somehow it feels like you guys are on a vacation up there. So thanks for the videos. It’s like it’s normal out there somewhere.

the reason why domestic blueberries dont taste as good as wild is that in order to make the farmed ones more viable crop they crossbred them with another bush-berry not unlike the Saskatoon berry thus making the crop more viable and more of it but diluted the taste by at least 50 percent so wild blueberries are pure but domestic are a diluted crossbreed so its alot more work harvesting them but way worth it and its why wild blueberries are so much more expensive in the store harder to get and harvest.. great vlog of your trip

Instantly recognized the spot you fished at around the 9min mark: The day use area/boat launch just down the road from Tangle Lakes Lodge :) My father and I went there every year on fathers day for years. Always camped in that spot along the creek before it was made a no camping area and the other one down the road opened up. We even took part in a fishing show there one year, good memories. He's passed, but I was just up there a few weeks ago with the family :)

@@wisconsinfarmer4742 - True.. The northernmost part of the state (where I live), is pretty nice, with the Appalachian foothills creating some scenic mountain. But I suppose I'm like most humans.. we get accustomed to our own back yard and long for "greener pastures". :)

I fished the Outflow of Tangle Lakes 20 years ago and our best fishing for grayling was with a fly rod using a mosquito fly , they congregate behind boulders it was every cast ! If you do a canoe trip as we did the grayling get much bigger the further you go down river , I actually had to keep changing my tippet to a larger size to stop getting broke off in the faster water , good times !

Ben fishing the Denali Highway for almost 50 yrs and recognized so many places. A little bit of info if you plan on catching and releasing grayling is to make sure your hands are wet so as to not damage the protective mucus on the outside of the fish.
