I went fishing at Chiltern Number 1 Dam, often spelled Chiltern no 1 dam or just Number 1 Dam in Chiltern. Jan Juc Worms: www.fishingwor... Filmed with: amzn.to/4cFGXE5
An commercial fisherman once told me that game fishing for big swords and marlin is like sitting in a moving boat and you throw $100 out of the boat every minute 🤣
Hi Robbie. As always, enjoyed the video. I had a frustrating day at the beach today. Only one hook up and it got off near the shore. Thankfully the sun was shining and it was a beautiful day. Kind regards MP
Thank you so much for tuning in mate. 👍👍 We don't get mud crabs down here where I live. I'm way too far inland, and I think they are way up north where it is much warmer.
Hey Robbie, where was the intro? Anyway I actually have a mate that loves eating carp, I introduced him to you,and he can’t believe you don’t keep them. Personally I think his taste buds are crap, tried one once, couldn’t even swallow. Keep the videos coming.
Hey Robbie up here in Queensland we have Carp but also Tilapia as pests and they breed like you wouldn't believe. When I lived in Seymour mate back in the 70s we never had a huge carp problem but I never heard of Tilapia. Have you got them down there now??.
Hi Ian, I have read a lot about Talapia. They're not a real problem down here. I believe there are a few in some of the dams and drains in Melbourne, but not in the waterways around here. From my limited understanding the water down here is too cold for them. They will survive but won't thrive or breed. I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure that's what I read.
What no kiss for the carp like Rex 😅 Not sure how long you spent there but you still managed a few carp. The pelican was cool, i honestly thought, he would spit that carp out hahaha
Haha thanks mate. I was there for about 3 hours. I've seen pelicans swallow carp 60cm long. LOL I have an older video on my channel of them doing it at Lake Hume about 5 years ago.
They should do a carp round up there and stock it with natives! Even reddies.. would be better than carp! Good way to spend the arvo! I’d hope your not going to the Logies 😂😂😂😝😝😝 stay blessed and tight lines bro 🤙🎣🤙🎣🤙🎣🤙🎣
Thanks legend. 👍👍 I spoke to fisheries a few years back about stocking it with Silver Perch. They were keen, but poor water quality and low water prevented it from happening.
@@TobysfishingNoutdoors not really. Well, there is but it would be an expensive project and I doubt that anybody would do it. Even the nearby creek is only seasonal, and right now it's barely flowing. They could take water from there when it's flowing well but I doubt they would do it as it would have effects on water users and natural wetlands downstream.
Hi Matt, I know there are carp in Chiltern Number 2 dam but I doubt that there would be much else. It's a much harder waterway to access. You have to walk in through long grass and there's not much space amongst the shrubs and bushes to fish. A large part of the dam is on private property too.
At least that Pelican wasn't too obnoxious, the ones when they get used to people manage to get away with some fairly outrageous behaviour. Sort of like a 20lb seagull with an infinite capacity for chips
