Well...it was Thursday evening, it was my night to go fishing, but everything was looking a bit rubbish for a fishing session. The tide was small, the water height was low, the air pressure was stable and fish activity wasn't great.
Joined by Pete and Phil, we made our way down to St Mary's Bay to try and catch a Thornback Ray or maybe a flatfish. But as we soon found out the fishing was harder than thought.
So I hope you enjoy this short video update and I hope you find it both entertaining and informative.

Hard luck Greg, very similar in Thanet buddy. I think the birds were flying over to cheer up grumpy old Pete, or escaping!!!😅. Went of the stone pier in Margate last week,1schoolie,2 dogfish. Always love your videos bud,keep em coming. Hope Pete was smiling when you got to McDonald's 😅😅. Tight lines buddy.

Another good upload Greg, gutted there were no fish for you guys. We fished Tankerton last night , it was a bit last minute, it was also pretty packed , but i managed 2 smoothhounds on iceland whole raw prawns , i was well chuffed 👍🎣

Just one of them days. I’ve been to Cornwall Wednesday and Thursday had a few bits off of a friends boat. 1 small conger off the beach. Then stopped at chisel beach on route home and had 1 pouting so it’s not great anywhere at the moment. Lol. 👍🏻

@@gsp I was talking to a bloke where we was. he fished 10 hour at the dragon teeth and blanked. Lol. But fish hunter uk was there and he had cod We was at abbotsbury it was really busy but loads there just after mackerel. But I’m at Clacton Wednesday is gonna be calm so I’ll give it a go. I don’t mind blanking 10 minutes from home it’s the 4 hour drives that piss me off when I blank. Lol 👍🏻😂

A typical Kent session Greg. The birds are heading to the lake areas around Dungeness. The bird sanctuary. Ive seen it many times and watched them land there. Wished i could follow the fish in the damevway so i could catch the little blighters.😂😂

Apologies if you already have one but I’d love to see a video of your rig and reels that you use when fishing. I’m starting sea fishing when I go to Fuerteventura in October for the first time in 15 years and struggling to know what’s the best reels, lines etc to use

In most of my fishing videos I'll show the reels I use. For big fish in Fuerteventura something like a Penn spinfisher 8500 or a big reel with big line capacity and load it with 50lb braid. All the rigs I use for fishing will be linked in the videos. Check them out 👍👍

I’ll be trying Hythe this evening and next, will be targeting rays but to be honest I’ll take anything. I want to try reculver but lots of people saying there’s lots of weed, last time I was there was early June and there was too much weed to fish comfortably at all.

Dungie is awful! Not worth fishing on any tide. The best you can get is dogfish or school bass. It's not the venue it was

The same old story on this part of the coast this year! Got cancelled for the Admiralty on Weds 9th went to Folkestone pier instead. 3 livebait size pouting and a tiny plaice + a big argy with non english speaking mackerel bashers failing to respect anyones space never again.
